Avatar n tn What are the long term effects of having a misaligned 5th metacarpal? I play the piano and flute and would very much like to know if I will regain full mobility again. I would greatly appreciate some sound advice!

Avatar f tn How does someone tell between the difference of someone just wanting attention or if they really do have a problem and are reaching out for help? Should all attention getting be concidered serious? Where doesw one draw the line or do we? These are questions I have been asking myself about others I know and even thinking back to my own self. Any comments?
Avatar m tn It sounds more like the Sonata is causing this, unless this is something you've been taking for awhile, as these are common side effects of it. I doubt the B complex is causing the problem, but I wonder, when are taking it and when are you taking Sam-e?
Avatar m tn s sound, and Almond frequently played flute as well, including the bass flute. Characterized by a blend of blues and jazz riffs, latin beats, and a mellow rock aesthetic, and in contrast to the heavier guitar-driven rock of his contemporaries, composer and band leader Mark worked at producing warm and melodic works http://www.youtube.com/watch?
Avatar m tn one night i decided to sit down and play the piano---i played for quite awhile and eventually my wrists started top hurt---but i think that was a carpal tunnel thing, not an arthritis thing. i worry that my arthritis could eventually get bad enough to affect my piano playing. i have atopic dermatitis and it can make my fingers hurt more than my arthritis does. i assume that what i have is osteoarthritis, but no one ever has said that for sure.
Avatar m tn It all started when one day I played the piano and guitar for several hours. The following morning my wrist hurt and were going numb. I had no swelling. I waited a couple days, then when I thought I was ok I lifted some weights. I realized it wasn't better. School made it impossible for my wrists to recover. I tried playing the piano a week later, but they still hurt. For months I've been trying to let them recover, but they won't.

Avatar m tn My last refill for percocet was 10/19 and 12/09 for ambien and that was my plastic surgeon. My surgeon refused to give me anything else. He told me to find a PCP and I did 12/17 but this FNP isn't addressing my pain/insomnia effectively. On 12/17/10 she wrote me a script for indocin and benadryl. This didn't work so on 12/23/10 she wrote a questionable or I'm not sure who wrote it for sonata, percocet, and dicflonac.
Avatar m tn currently 42 members on this site have now voiced their displeasure and dislike for this very un friendly and hard to use format. And even more 8 currently have said they will visit much less if at all and 4 have said they are just leaving ...including willing ...who was in my estimation the most knowlegable .and helpful long term member here. His contribution will be extremely difficult to replace if it even ever could be.
1548131 tn?1293895533 I am still playing bari sax as much as I can in the Grand Rapids Jazz Orchestra, but playing alot more flute, alto and tenor sax now. At least flute does not bother me much, and I am getting very serious about it. For some reason, the act of fast tounging really bothers me on any instrument. My trigger points seem to change from left side of my mouth/lip to toungue, to teeth, to jaw. I may also have some tmj.
Avatar f tn Sleep medications to induce sleep are helpful for short term insomnia. For long term use they are best avoided, and besides you may develop tolerance to the medication. So, try weaning away from them and slowly try to adopt good sleep hygiene measures to promote sleep. Also, being overweight can worsen the osteoarthritis, so to begin with try light exercises like walking and then gradually build up under the guidance of a physiotherapist.
Avatar n tn I agree about talking to the doc. You might consider melatonin, though. It's OTC, safe, and works well for some people. I've been using that off-and-on throughout treatment. Go with the lowest OTC dose, though. It's a natural compound and if the body gets too much it just ignores the signal. Also, talk to your doc about Ambien (lasts roughly 8 hours) vs. Sonata (lasts about 2 hours).
Avatar n tn A monofocal lens does let you see well within a small range of distances, so if you were doing monovision, one eye being set for distance and one eye being set for near, you could set one eye at -1D, 1 diopter myopic, or perhaps 1.25D myopic, and that would likely let you see that sheet music well enough, with -1.5D being better but risking more trouble adapting to the monovision and reduction of stereopsis, 3D visual perception.
Avatar f tn How are you taking that many at a time and still alive broski? You took 30 of the ambien 10 mg in three days? What's your dosing routine? Do you take them during the day or just at night? Withdrawal from Ambien can be life threatening just like benzos. Your best bet would be to see your doctor and be honest with what is going on here and see about seeking some help with this mess you're in. I take one 10 mg Zolpidem a night and cannot fathom taking more than that.
Avatar f tn Is there any connection between my neck tension and my feeling of congestion? Would seeing a chiropractor for my neck help me at all or would I just be aligning that part without doing anything for the congestion?
Avatar f tn I'm not thinking only of my own predicament, more in general, if this new contraption really helps expectorate it should be the talk of the town! cartfuls of sticky gooey mucus being one of the most damning aspects of this disease and sometimes during flareups you feel like the buildup is going to choke you... so I was hoping somebody could say whether or not it's worth buying this thing based on first-hand experience.
Avatar f tn I have my 34w scan booked late for next Thursday (I'll be 35 weeks) and then another one a week later when I'm 36.. What appointment would they most likely check me at? Is there a way to check myself?
Avatar m tn I got the flu four days later. My physician actually diagnosed it as the flute. Put me on Tamiflu period last and only 4 days. Then 10 days later I developed what look like hives on the back of one of my legs. Then the other leg. A few days later. This lasted a week. I was concerned about HIV so I got a 13-day Duo test. It came back negative. Then I got swollen armpit glands. And growing glands. They're soft to the touch period and sore. Also somewhat of a rash.
293845 tn?1227997530 When I was pregnant with my now 4 year old son I listened to Praise and Worship Music EVERY morning. Once he was born we had music we played in his room while he slept. I know they say music makes them smart...my son is very smart with an IQ of 135 I don't know if it's because he listened to music so much or not. However he really hates music. LOL it's quite humorous. If I try and play music in the car he will always tell me he doesn't like it and wants me to turn it off.
484033 tn?1208516117 The first is an acute onset numbness/tingling observed within hours of infusion, and which can last for 1-3 days. The second type of neuropathy is a chronic numbness which can last until 3 - 4 months of discontinuing Oxaliplatin. This chronic neuropathy is dose dependent, and usually occurs when the patient has accumulated a dose equivalent to around 10 - 14 sessions of chemotherapy (850 -1200 mg/m2).
Avatar n tn http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=1415 Here is one article I found for you regarding restless legs and magnesium: http://www.mothernature.com/Library/Bookshelf/Books/23/126.cfm Supplemental magnesium is helpful for migraine. Omega-3's in fish oil supplements are helpful for migraine. Avatar f tn Hey, I took Seroquel for yrs for my anxiety and it worked quite well. But finally stopped working, I guess I built up a tolerance. But it never put me out.
Avatar f tn I am 20 week's and a day and I was wondering does it matter what type if music you play for your baby while it's in the womb, like could I play soft country or Idk bluegrass? I've been told gospel is really good. Any suggestions?
220090 tn?1379167187 My plans for 2012 are to continue my piano lessons and start to write the book I have been talking about. I bought a piano and started lessons this past October. I have always thought Bach was the greatest composer that ever lived. Now that I am playing one of his pieces (badly), I have an ever greater appreciation for his genius. When I first started learning the piece, one pair of notes sounded discordant, so I thought I must be making a mistake.
