solumedrol blurry vision

My joint pain has lessened today. And my vision is better. It started going blurry two days into the steroids. Both the neuro and ophthalmologist (whom I saw yesterday since I had been blurry for five days) said it couldn't be the steroids. But I think they are wrong! I googled water retention and blurred vision... Yeah, apparently it happens all the time to pregnant women. How can this not occur to doctors?? Go for the simplest answer first.

blurry, cloudy, filmy? Is the pain a dull ache, a sharp pain, or like there is a foreign object in your eye? Do you know why the emerg doc said this is a neurological problem? Have you seen an ophthalmologist or neuro-ophthalmologist about it?

So in the last couple months I have had a lot of blurry vision but considering the weather I attributed it to being over heated (it did get worse when I was hotter) but then about a month ago I started to notice that reds were becoming discolored.

This pain has gotten worse in the past couple of days. My doctor has me starting on solumedrol for the first time on Tuesday.

I wish I had answers for you, but I don't think anyone can answer this question. I do think you can get support from others with their own experiences with optic neuritis. My vision took probably a year to improve and it has been so gradual. I no longer see double. I do get blurry vision still when I'm overheated or tired. I do have a permament black spot in my field of vision, but it's not big. I will have washed-out color issues in my eye when I'm too warm.

Visual fields can be normal, but viewing things with both eye can be blurry, you can have monocular double vision, etc. This is where the neuro-ophthalmologist comes in. There have special expertise in what is happening behind the eye, where the optic nerves pass through the brain.

Generally, Solumedrol is used when the acute vision in the affected eye is very low or when there is significant pain. Low dose oral steroids were shown to be a bad thing, because they increased the number of attacks of optic neuritis that the people suffered. This finding had been challenged, but follow up studies added evidence to the finding.

So once in awhile im seeing spots & my vision gets blurry...its just enough to annoy me not taking over completely but still makes me worry. Is this normal?

So im 24 weeks and just had something weird thing happened and come home and looked online and got concerned. I started with blurry vision then got spots all over my eyes I couldn't see much at all then got dizzy and a headache that isn't going away. Well I read it was symptoms of preeclampsia should I be worried?

I was tested and diagnosed with it at 28 weeks. I have never had blurry vision, except for when my BS gets really low.

It is common and usually it makes a woman temporarily more near-sighted on the other hand any of the non-pregnant causes of blurry vision can occur as well as blurred vision associated with toxemia of pregnancy/eclampsia. See an Eye MD and aslo tell your OB MD. Ask the OB MD if the Eye MD can use drops to dilate your eyes. rarely to never do they object.

What could cause and cure blurry vision? It starts in the summer and clears up in the winter. I wear soft contact lenses and change them frequently, but this doesn't seem to help.

When i look at text on paper, sometimes i get almost like double vision, but not like cross your eyes double vision, its almost like its a little out of focus, and if i close one eye, it still happens, and i can see the text/object clear in both eyes, but its like a faint shadow of the same text/oject. If i open my eyes really wide it all focuses and the shadow goes away, or if i tip my glasses to sharpen the vision, it goes away. The best way i can show this is in the picture attached.

I am a 42 year old female who has always had 20/20 vision. I've had floaters for a number of years- but they came and went and were not numerous. In October of 2008 I noticed I couldn't see clearly when writing a check or jotting down an appt on a calendar (any close up work of that sort) so after attempting to self diagnose myself with the help of the internet- I decided I had presbyopia and picked up a pair of reading glasses in November of 2008 and they worked wonders !

I am a 26 year old female. Since I woke up Thursday morning I have had blurry vision. It is like a dark shadow going in a line across the bottom to middle of my vision.
