Avatar m tn The BILT is bilirubin. Bilirubin is a major breakdown product of hemoglobin which is derived from red blood cells that are being broken down in a 'normal' fashion via the spleen. It's transferred to the liver where a large portion of it undergoes processing and becomes 'conjugated' - it's put together with something else to make it more water-soluble. The water solubility of bilirubin allows the bilirubin to be excreted into bile. (Bile then is used to digest fats.

PEGylation can also provide water solubility to hydrophobic drugs and proteins. This is a long winded and convoluted way of saying that pegylated interferon will last longer in your body than interferon without pegylation. The original standard of care required taking interferon three times a week.
Avatar m tn dose anyone know definably how long methadone stays in your system 4 days now could be worse
Avatar m tn I think I've read that all the Bs are water soluble, so they should pass out of your system quickly, I would guess (but I'm not medically trained, so don't know for sure). I too take B complex supplements, some of which run up into the thousands% of daily requirement, like B-1, which is 3,333% of MDR. Given that the Bs are supposed to just wash out of your body, it seems like it might be something else, but this is a question for your doc. Are you keeping your fluid intake up?
Avatar m tn The main requirements for them are (1) high IFN-inducing activity, (2) absence of side effects, (3) wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity, (4) broad therapeutic security and, (5) good solubility in water and biologic liquids. IFN inducers stimulate IFN production in different cells and organs, and that determines the strategy for their application. Amixin (OOO "Lancepharm," Moscow, Russia) induces IFN-?/? production mostly in T cells. Cycloferon (NTFF "Polysan," St.
Avatar f tn - Using hypoallergenic detergent - Hypoallergenic soap and shampoo - Double rinsing underwear after washing - washing vulva thoroughly with water in the shower (no soap directly on it) - washing with water after I use the bathroom - applying ice - applying lidocaine and using antihistamines daily - only wearing white cotton underwear - no underwear at night I went to my OBGYN and she gave me lidocaine gel and antihistamines to take daily which I have been doing for 6 months.
Avatar m tn I am terrified of needles too and I FELT NOTHING.. They used Buffered Lidocaine injection which I did not feel any of.. I must admit, I did put over the counter Lidocaine cream all over my breast about an hour before the procedure. I used this Lidocaine cream on my arm before a tetanus shot that I had to get and was so afraid of and I was screaming for the nurse to WAIT but.. IT WAS ALREADY DONE! Helps a lot so you don't feel pain. Nurse also gave me tips for next time I get an injection.
Avatar n tn It is a dialation of the urethra. After the second time, I told the doctor I would never ever do it again. It was done in the doctor's office so anesthesia was not an option. I'd rather deal with the occasional UTI that meds takes care of than go through that awful pain again.
Avatar f tn My orbital itself is what hurts and I do not have vision loss. We have tried injections of lidocaine, steroids, steroid drops, oral steriods, indocin, and gabapentin; none of which have helped. The pain is NOT a migraine. I am NOT having sinus issues or The doctor I am currently seeing is at Barnes Jewish Hospital's Center for Advanced Medicine. We are quickly running out of options and doctors in the St. Louis area and the doctors are at a loss.
Avatar f tn Sorry about the above ... computer went wacky and I tried to delete it but instead it posted :( Anyway, I just love feeling myself mentally again. I feel like I can handle everything I need to despite the pain. And just in time. I've got more things coming up with my dad. I can expect this with him. At 82 we're only going to have more things pop up rather than less.
Avatar m tn left pointer finger, at work i stuck a cedar sliver under the nail past the start point of the nail. I attempted to pull it out and it broke off. only 1/4 inch came out so a good 1/2 inch is still in there i can see it thru the nail. I attempted to cut and split the nail with razor blade but once i got part way thru nail it hurt bad. my co-worker gave me a new 10ml bottle of lidocaine, he uses it to give himself stitches.
Avatar m tn I'm terrified of this procedure and I'm a wuss (although I'm a pilot who has flown in 2 wars)...still, the urologist scares me. I recently saw a great urologist, a really young woman who made this procedure tolerable.....after a previous bad experience, I wince at the sight of a catheter; the feeling of "peeing glass shards" after a cysto is something I will never forget.
Avatar f tn My daughter now 17.5 has been in severe pain for 4 years (as of 8/18). One day we were playing tennis, next day could not get out of bed and since has not been able to walk at all. They cannot see what's wrong on MRI, long story there, but now in MA the docs are going to give her lidocaine infusions and started her on nortriptyline 10 mg with increasing doses.
Avatar n tn Rinsing with a 1/4 tsp of baking soda and 1/4 cup water is good to make your mouth feel fresh too.
Avatar f tn Hot baths. Or hot shower and try to slowly stretch different parts of your back while the water hits you. When mine got really bad, hot baths wouldn't even work and neither would painkillers I used lidocaine patches, but those are prescription only.
Avatar f tn Yes, if some of the force was transmitted to the lids it's possible for the sensory nerves of the eyelid and face (trigeminal nerve) to be contused against the orbital bones creating the type of pain you describe. This is pretty common with injuries like hit by fist in fight, blows to the eye from athletic equipment, falls and running into things. It clears with time you might think of it as a bruised nerve.
383138 tn?1314167773 I just found this post, three years late. But I had IV lidocaine this past Friday night in the ER for severe kidney stone pain. I've never heard of it before. It actually worked like a miracle. I had immediate relief. To say I was thrilled, would be an understatement. I was discharged within 15-20 minutes of the IV medication. Totally pain free. After my husband and I got home. I went to bed. Then woke up sometime later with severe chest pain. I wondered if I was having a heart attack.
Avatar m tn Getting lidocaine for wisdom tooth extraction--felt the needle going in and woke up 45 minutes later in ER. I had had a seizure! Hundreds of shots for teeth over the years, never any such experience. Surgeon swore he found no blood in syringe and couldn't understand why I seized. Swore he did everything right, never heard of lidocaine causing a seizure this way. Apologized profusely. I'm now worried about completing the extraction, which has to be done.
Avatar f tn It was later revealed by my doctor that the marker from that biopsy was not in the same place where the cluster of microcalcifications were noted. I am now being sent to a different hospital in the U.S. later in November for another stereotactic biopsy. My question is does the microcalcifications itself have to be sampled to determine if there is something, and can the lidocaine wash the microcalcifications away?
Avatar f tn Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
