some may think im weird but idc lol i love to eat raw chocolate chip cookie dough and havent in sooo long. im 5 months and was making cookies and just started eating it without thinking it might make me sick since im pregnant...can something happen like me getting sick or it affecting my babygirl?

If the eggs in the batter have salmonella bacteria in them, it likely wouldn't matter if you had a tiny nibble or the whole batch, you'd probably get sick either way. The vast majority of eggs bought at supermarkets are safe, but there's still a chance of illness. It's kind of a gamble - but it doesn't really stop me. Cookie dough is awesome. (Though if I've really got a hankering for it, I get some Ben+Jerry's Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream.

I love cookie dough! And craved it even more during my pregnancy but was scared to eat it..I ate the ben & jerrys chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream one time while i was pregnant and my stomach hurted so bad aftetwards..so maybe it was just me.

Has anyone ever actually gotten sick from eating things that pregnant people are "not supposed to" eat. Like brownie batter, cookie dough, lunch meat, sushi, etc? Just curious cuz it seems like an extremely slim chance of someone actually getting sick from it. If so, what did you get sick from and what happened to you/baby? Also i will add, im not saying its ok at all so no negative comments please, just asking for experiences.
