Skelaxin with vicodin

Common Questions and Answers about Skelaxin with vicodin

skelaxin

Avatar f tn Skelaxin helps me out with that. Compared to the opiates I just got off of, I get absolutely no buzz from Skelaxin. It just makes me a bit tired. Not my idea of a recreational drug at all. ...now Flexiril, that's another story. I tried that out, taking a 10mg. Next thing I knew, it was the next day! I slept probably 10 hours, and had a druggy hangover for another half-day.
Avatar m tn Hello youngdude421. Neither Skelaxin (metaxalone) nor Celebrex (celecoxib) cause dependence. Your body will not crave either medication. You will not develop tolerance to either medication, nor will you suffer withdrawal symptoms in their absence. The usual dose of Skelaxin is 800mg every 6 to 8 hours (three or four times a day). Do not exceed the maximum daily dose, and don't mix Skelaxin with alcohol, barbiturates, or other CNS depressants.
Avatar m tn I have different issues with my lower (C 5-7) and upper neck (C 0-1). I have been to a neuro doc and he told me that my MRI read fine and the EMG did not show any nerve damage. If this is the case, then why am I having numbness in my left arm/hand in my 4-5 digit and pain in the lower part of my neck and weakness in my left arm? He recommended a procedure that I have already had, which tells me he didn't take the time to review my records.
Avatar f tn My experience with Skelaxin...Like what was said before anything can be addicting but the likelyhood of someone saying 'wow this is cool" not gonna happen. The only side effect that would be wanted in it makes u sleepy, but no euphoria feeling or high feeling. Now if he would combine it with other meds watch out for that.
Avatar f tn t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar m tn Haven't had any experience with Skelaxin, but just wanted to ask if you've had any steroid blocker injections? I think that's what it is called. My husband had been having severe back spasms and just had this blocker injection done two weeks ago. Two days after the injection he was good as new and it's still working. My husband couldn't sleep either, woke up in the middle of the night, etc. Good luck to ya!
Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a transfer migraine last August. It started on Aug 1st and hasn't left me since. It's been an agonizing 6 months. It's called transfer migraine because it moves all over my head. I've never had one of those common migraines where the light bothers me or I get nauseated or see auras, etc. My migraines have been "light" headaches that stay with me for a few days: from 3 to five days at the most.
Avatar m tn m in recovery and not gonna let a muscle pill make me use if it that type of med. anyone with experience with soma please reply.
Avatar m tn I have ddd in my neck and lumbar spine, and now after mri i have a bone spurs with spinal stenosis in l4 l5 spine area,i see ortho surgeon in april 2013. what some thing i should not do or should do till i see the dr.?
450140 tn?1317947304 The neck pain is still unbearable! I was put on CYMBALTA about 5 weeks ago, and have been fighting with nauseua with that. Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family.
Avatar m tn The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
Avatar f tn If you have any personal knowledge about any of these drugs, would you be willing to share your experiences with me? I really need to know if the "Pros" are WORTH the "Cons". Here they are (in no particular order): Gabitril Neurontin Lyrica Skelaxin Effexor Cymbalta Triavil Celebrex Emla Patches I'm open to any other suggestions as well. THANKS!!
Avatar n tn I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
402205 tn?1230481005 i currently take flexiril, i dont think its addicting at all, i actually think it helps alot with withdrawals all the rls and muscle cramps yunno, i was prescribed them for a pulled muscle in my back and they seem to work pretty good
Avatar f tn As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
Avatar n tn I have been directed to take all of these every day, but unlike the pain pills, I took daypro only when I had a flare up, it brought be back down in 4-7 days, to the level of pain I was used to and then I would stop and just continue with the vicodin regiment. Since the loss of the vicodin, I have been taking the anti inflamatories (3 a day instead of the prescribed 2, still petrified of a flare up).
684012 tn?1227990456 I have been seeing this neruro dr for about 5 months now she did diagnoise me with fibromyalgia, cfs, & neuropathy. We are trying to find ways to control the pain. When I take the Ultram, it makes my face break out with little bumps on my checks. Has this happenned to anyone else? My current meds are really not working, I have to go between Ultram & Vicodin, and Skelaxin for a muscle relaxer. I use Lyrica but is causes my ankles and hands to swell.
176495 tn?1301280412 Last night the pain in back reached a point where I just needed some relief..alleive, etc wasn't touching it..wound up in the ER..Same ER I'd gone to in Sept when I needed help getting off of vics. (they gave me clonidine at the time which helped immensely)..I wasn't going looking for opiates..just *something* that would give me some relief..
747493 tn?1249589956 I am taking Cymbalta 60mgs twice daily, Lyrica 75mg twice daily, Skelaxin three times a day, Vicodin three times a day and AmbienCR 12.5mg at bedtime. The only problem now is keeping the IBS down which requires cleaning out the colon every few days. Ruthy66, Maybe this could help for you to try some of the above meds. Everything doesn't work for everybody but it may be worth a try. I hope everything works out for you.
Avatar m tn Soma is a muscle relaxer. I am on Norco an was on Soma a few months ago. I have muscle pain as well as arthritis and nerve pain in my back so the Soma did help with the muscle pain. Now that I'm not on Soma my back just burns with muscle pain. I really want to go back on it. Soma works right away when you take it. The only drawback is that it will make you sleepy.
Avatar m tn I have had a headache for now 31 days in a row without any real relief. It started out (I think) with a stiff neck- Couldn't touch chin to chest) and the same day I started with a headache. They almost follow a pattern everyday, I wake up with it, it gets better after I'm up for awhile and almost gone into afternoon, but around 4 pm comes back and keeps going for the rest of the night (almost worse when I lay down).
563594 tn?1309583132 First, it is important to realize that the dose of Xanax you are on is by NO MEANS a 'dangerous' one as they're considered. I have read of people somehow being on 30mg a day though I don't know how they even functioned. The actual danger zone starts roughly around 4-8mg (it seems to range on the person. I imagine their size and reaction to medication plays a part). It POSSIBLE though not even common to have a seizure at that point if you stop cold turkey.
Avatar f tn Furthermore, codeine is not the active ingredient in Vicodin. The active ingredient in Vicodin is hydrocodone and a standard Vicodin contains 5 mg. And you have to specifically ask the pharmacist for this tylenol/codeine/caffeine combo, it is not out on the shelves, even in Canada. I'd ask your wife just why she decided to purchase it? Good luck.
