Skelaxin helps me out with that. Compared to the opiates I just got off of, I get absolutely no buzz from Skelaxin. It just makes me a bit tired. Not my idea of a recreational drug at all. ...now Flexiril, that's another story. I tried that out, taking a 10mg. Next thing I knew, it was the next day! I slept probably 10 hours, and had a druggy hangover for another half-day.

Neither Skelaxin (metaxalone) nor Celebrex (celecoxib) cause dependence. Your body will not crave either medication.
You will not develop tolerance to either medication, nor will you suffer withdrawal symptoms in their absence.
The usual dose of Skelaxin is 800mg every 6 to 8 hours (three or four times a day). Do not exceed the maximum daily dose, and don't mix Skelaxin with alcohol, barbiturates, or other CNS depressants.
m in recovery and not gonna let a muscle pill make me use if it that type of med. anyone with experience with soma please reply.

Skelaxin 800mg 1/2 x3 as needed (I just filled a different muscle relaxer that is not as strong. With fatigue I am having a hard time finding one that will not put me to sleep.)
Lyrica 50mg x1 (I have not taken that for long. I did a trial and it helped, but very expensive).

My experience with Skelaxin...Like what was said before anything can be addicting but the likelyhood of someone saying 'wow this is cool" not gonna happen. The only side effect that would be wanted in it makes u sleepy, but no euphoria feeling or high feeling. Now if he would combine it with other meds watch out for that.
t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms)

Haven't had any experience with Skelaxin, but just wanted to ask if you've had any steroid blocker injections? I think that's what it is called. My husband had been having severe back spasms and just had this blocker injection done two weeks ago. Two days after the injection he was good as new and it's still working. My husband couldn't sleep either, woke up in the middle of the night, etc. Good luck to ya!
oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
I was diagnosed with a transfer migraine last August. It started on Aug 1st and hasn't left me since. It's been an agonizing 6 months. It's called transfer migraine because it moves all over my head. I've never had one of those common migraines where the light bothers me or I get nauseated or see auras, etc. My migraines have been "light" headaches that stay with me for a few days: from 3 to five days at the most.
Hi, I started taking ultram for multiple vehicle injuries. Ultram didn't work, they tried Tylenol3, tylenol3 didn't work they tried hydrocodone, that didn't work..so they tried percoset 5/325 6X a day. I got used to that dose now im on 7.5/325 6x a day. The more I NEED them. The more I want them. I am definitely addicted but it is not a good addiction. I get very mean, and emotionless over nothing. I go to physical therapy 3x a week. So it is all legit.
The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
If you have any personal knowledge about any of these drugs, would you be willing to share your experiences with me? I really need to know if the "Pros" are WORTH the "Cons". Here they are (in no particular order):

I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
Soma is a muscle relaxer. I am on Norco an was on Soma a few months ago. I have muscle pain as well as arthritis and nerve pain in my back so the Soma did help with the muscle pain. Now that I'm not on Soma my back just burns with muscle pain. I really want to go back on it. Soma works right away when you take it. The only drawback is that it will make you sleepy.
I have had a headache for now 31 days in a row without any real relief. It started out (I think) with a stiff neck- Couldn't touch chin to chest) and the same day I started with a headache. They almost follow a pattern everyday, I wake up with it, it gets better after I'm up for awhile and almost gone into afternoon, but around 4 pm comes back and keeps going for the rest of the night (almost worse when I lay down).
I am running out of treatment options. When I was first diagnosed with fibro there were no treatment no medication
for it. The Ra Dr told me at that time all the pin points seemed to be very tender. She told me the only thing that I could do is to take ibprofen or ibprofen like medication.
One day, the patient admitted with alcohol withdrawal syndrome. He does not drink alcohol since 3 days ago. He suffer restless then I injected diazepam 10 mg iv ! In a few min, he got like gasping and then dead by respiratory arrest ! I did CPR but can't revive ! So can I give Diazepam to the patient who is suffering from alcohol withdrawal ? Advise me pls !
That's 3500 mg of acetaminophen which isn't a huge amount. It is quite a bit if taken at one time though but to be honest I have taken much more than that at once and for a extended period of time. Luckily I didn't do any damage to my liver or kidneys. You should be just fine since you haven't made a habit out of it. As I'm sure you know, mixing alcohol with acetaminophen is a very bad combination so make sure you don't do that again.
I’m not trying to convince anyone that they should or shouldn’t use alcohol with cooking. If it makes you nervous, don’t use it. There are alternatives.
I choose to use it and seriously don’t see enough alcohol used to make a difference. ”. As far as damaging the liver, I don’t see it.
I respect what Boobert stated “i'm 10 years sobor next month and vowed never to taste alcohol again”.
