Avatar m tn Hello youngdude421. Neither Skelaxin (metaxalone) nor Celebrex (celecoxib) cause dependence. Your body will not crave either medication. You will not develop tolerance to either medication, nor will you suffer withdrawal symptoms in their absence. The usual dose of Skelaxin is 800mg every 6 to 8 hours (three or four times a day). Do not exceed the maximum daily dose, and don't mix Skelaxin with alcohol, barbiturates, or other CNS depressants.
2030686 tn?1351688548 I started double therapy yesterday and I just wanna make sure my sides are normal.. I had the chills from time to time, but I was hot more. What I'm concerned about is my legs and hips hurt so bad I could barely walk. I 'm on a high dose of vicodin and it didn't seem to touch this pain. I had a small amount of chest pain on the left side, but it was mild pain and didn't last long. I took a hot bath for my legs and it helped for a little while, but the pain came back.
Avatar n tn The treatment that you have been prescribed is correct. If you are having any side effects then get the antibiotics changed and even oral antibiotics can be added. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn This reaction increases the risk of dangerous side effects, both from the over consumption of alcohol and from the antibiotics. Read more: What Happens When You Drink Alcohol While on Antibiotics? | eHow.com http://www.ehow.com/about_5124111_happens-drink-alcohol-antibiotics.
Avatar f tn This might seem crazy but it's been going on for about 4 months now. Everytime I drink, whether it be one drink or 5 drinks, I wake up about 1-2 hrs after I go to bed with a racing/pounding heart and I'm real hot and sweaty. It's almost like an anxiety attack. Alcohol has never bothered me before and I was wondering if anyone had a clue about what could be causing this.
Avatar f tn Apparently the naltrexone/naloxone disrupts the absorbtion of alcohol into the bloodstream and she could not ever feel the effects of the alcohol. I have also read of a treatment for alcoholics where they are prescibed daily doses of naltrexone for this reason. To prevent them feeling any "beneficial effects"of alcohol. I hope this helps to answer your question.

Avatar f tn Hi Thirdeye, Good to hear from you but sorry about your issues the Muscle Spasms and medications to relieve it. Tizanidine is used to relieve the spasms and increased muscle tone caused by multiple sclerosis (MS ). Apparently it is being used "off label" to treat your muscle spasms... unless you have MS and I have forgotten that fact. It is a short acting agent and is usually prescribed two or more often three times a day.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Thus, I am tapering off as there are rare retinal damage etc. and I seem to be getting the lesser side effects with all my drugs. Do, you think this will be permanent eye damage, or any damage? I will be seeing an opthamologist when possible.
Avatar m tn Second question is can i continue eating sugar free candy with sugar alcohol of 17g? I am not really grasping what sugar alcohol is...is it from alcohol? Thx for your responses in advance.
Avatar f tn Weight gain and depression are common side effects of beta blockers as a class of drugs. It was Toprol that I was on, but I think the side effect profile is similar for all of them. Some people take beta blockers for years and never have any great problems with side effects, though.
Avatar f tn These are anti tubercular drugs and this will act against active tuberculosis bacteria and after 2-3 months you will only have Rcinex so this is a passing phase and all the drugs have different side effects and there is no rule that you will be having all the side effects. I would suggest you to follow up with your TB specialist if you have any side effects with urination or other symptoms. Take care!
Avatar f tn I have no side effects as long as I eat low carb and avoid alcohol. Also, make sure to take it right when you start eating, or right before, not on an empty stomach.
Avatar m tn The effects of the alcohol and side effects of the pills get intensified. Even when I was on a low dose of Geodon I drank a shot in a tall glass and it caused me to feel like I was having symptoms of hyperglycemia and I had to urinate every 30 seconds or so.
Avatar f tn I am still alive and have noticed no ill side effects from this drinking. I will say that the following day (because alcohol is a depressant drug) that I do feel more depressed. I do think alcohol hinders the theraputic effect of antidepressants for a limited time after. No question about that. Will you poision yourself????? Probably not, maybe a 1 in 100,000 chance.
408795 tn?1324935675 I was wondering if anyone on this forum who is currently undergoing treatment with Pegasys and Ribavirin can share what they feel as far as the side effects from their treatment?
