skelaxin

1760800 tn?1406753451 My neuro prescribed baclofen for me for spaticity I have been on it for two weeks now and am not really seeing any real relief - I can stand easier but am still getting cramps in my legs when sitting for too long and still having real difficulty with tightness - Is it too soon to say something - is there a period of time to wait for it to "kick" in help!
450140 tn?1317947304 I was on Skelaxin briefly last year. My PCP and I did not feel that Baclofen was doing anything, so he switched me. I think it was 3X daily. It just didn't work well for me and I went back on Baclofen. I do not tolerate a lot of meds well, so don't let that dissuade you from skelaxin. Hope it helps you. Good luck!
Avatar m tn Another muscle spasm/relaxant that is non-addictive is Baclofen. Soma CAN be abused.....I abused it and always missed it when I couldn't get my hands on any. If you are in recovery.....my counsel would be to stay FAR away from Soma.
Avatar m tn My pain clinic is no longer writing for soma. I have had flexeril, robaxin, skelaxin before and they aren't as effective. What can I try?
149087 tn?1258453820 I take Zanaflex which is much like the drug Baclofen. Zanaflex produces more drowsiness and sedation than baclofen. Are you taking it as a muscle relaxer?
Avatar m tn Celebrex, Neurontin, Baclofen, Skelaxin, Relafen, Flexeril, to mention some. Things thar really work for me are Baclofen and Lidoderm patches, although some days I still have the spasms. A Cervical MRI showed: Straightening is noted suggesting spasm. Correlate clinically.
Avatar f tn Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
Avatar f tn Same thing with having a muscle relaxer to take as needed. Flexeril, Skelaxin, Robaxin, Baclofen, or Zanaflex. This is very useful for those times with bad muscle spasms... Again...an opiate does not target spasms. An opiate just makes our brain not "care" as much. And sure, it can be a small part of one's treatment...but it should never be the main part.
Avatar m tn I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.
8398640 tn?1398042546 They first tried Skelaxin and that didn't help at all. Skelaxin is for sure a muscle relaxer. Baclofen is a muscle relaxer but it's more of an anti-spastic one. Baclofen works the best by far for me. They usually start you out low and then, if they need to, they'll work you up to a higher dose. I started at 10mg 2 times a day. Now I'm at 20 mg 3 to 4 times a day (just about the max dose that you can take orally). I can still drive.
Avatar n tn Any suggestions would be appreciated. I do not wish to be on the Skelaxin, Baclofen, Vicoprofen, Midrin that have been prescribed to control pain and HA. Thank you.
Avatar m tn And if my back gets bad and really tight which it does fairly often right now cause I had spinal surgery 5 months ago two bone fusions and two screws but neway back to what u was sayin when it gets tight I also take baclofen which is a muscle relaxent and between those two I have no problems and I prefer baclofen over flexeril cause flexiril knocks me out and also skelaxin is also another good muscle relaxer to that my doc said tell ppl bout causeost docs will give u handful of samples of and i
Avatar n tn having to be on and stay on a med to control spasms, i.e., baclofen vs. something I could take from time-to-time, he wanted me on the baclofen, said he wanted to get out ahead of the issue. Hope this helps. "Welcome" by the way, I don't think we've met.
333672 tn?1273792789 Anybody know for sure how to tell the difference between paresthesias and stiffness from spasticity? I am definitely having more paresthesias (burning, etc.), but also some things (pressure, feeling like my skin is too tight and dry, banding feelings) that I'm not sure about. Plus when I walk my feet often feel like they're wearing wet socks made out of concrete. Very unpleasant feeling.
Avatar f tn I have to agree with what you have read. Xanax is not commonly reported in the articles discussing spasticity. In fact, it can have a paradoxical (reverse) reaction of "causing" spasticity. The two most common drugs are, indeed, valium (diazepam) and Klonopin (clonazepam). Xanax and Valium are short-acting and clonazepam is long-acting. My preference would be for the longer-acting clonazepam.
Avatar f tn For example, one may consider an agent such as Provigil, Lyrica, Neurontin or Baclofen as long as she can tolerate thses agents because of side effects." "I would suggest that she attempt to gradually increase her physical activities as possible, ideally with a physical therapist." "If she develops any significant OBJECTIVE neurologic deficits, then more aggressive investigations would be warranted.
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar m tn My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
Avatar f tn t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!
Avatar f tn oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
