Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!
t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms)

As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.
I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know.
I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
50mg/2X-day (100mg/daily)
Day 1 –25mg/3xday (75mg/daily)
Day 2- 25mg/3xday (75mg/daily)
These two days seemed to be ok but I was anxious right before it was time to take the next dose. Each dose is about 6 hours apart, so the biggest gap in my dosages was after a night of sleeping..which is 8hours..always woke up reaching for the pill, first thing...but then again..it's always been that way.
Day 3 - 12.5mg/5xday (62.5mg/daily)
Day 4 –12.5mg/5xday (62.5mg/daily)
Day 5- 12.
not really..skelaxin is not sedating as a rule..i am glad ur klonopin dose is not high...but possibly the reason u can not sleep is because of the adderall/as it is an amphetamine...u r taking sumpin to get u hyped up..then u r having to take sumpin to slow u down so u can sleep...do u see the cycle here?
A muscle relaxer like zanaflex, baclofen, flexeril..many more can help right now..skelaxin may help a bit tho if u dont have the others...do u have any phenergan?
My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.
The receptors for pain medication in your brain simply adjust to whatever you are taking, and the dose must be increased to relieve the pain again. At some point you will run out of room to keep going up on the dose.
I don't know what the source of the pain is; if you have scarring in the muscle you might be able to find exercises through physical therapy that will help keep the jaw muscles relaxed and less painful. Muscle relaxants like flexeril or skelaxin are sometimes helpful.
The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.
I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.
Same thing with having a muscle relaxer to take as needed. Flexeril, Skelaxin, Robaxin, Baclofen, or Zanaflex. This is very useful for those times with bad muscle spasms...
Again...an opiate does not target spasms. An opiate just makes our brain not "care" as much. And sure, it can be a small part of one's treatment...but it should never be the main part.
30 and slept soundly. I woke up wired at 6:30am. This wired effect continued all day until around 7pm (20 hours).
I recognized the feeling as the same hard to describe feeling I got when I took Ritalin as a very young boy, 35 years ago. It's a very jittery feeling that keeps me moving. For the first time in quite awhile I stayed awake all day, even during evening TV time (the family took notice).
This medication doesn't seem to have any active ingredients that should cause this.
Hi, I started taking ultram for multiple vehicle injuries. Ultram didn't work, they tried Tylenol3, tylenol3 didn't work they tried hydrocodone, that didn't work..so they tried percoset 5/325 6X a day. I got used to that dose now im on 7.5/325 6x a day. The more I NEED them. The more I want them. I am definitely addicted but it is not a good addiction. I get very mean, and emotionless over nothing. I go to physical therapy 3x a week. So it is all legit.
I was a recreational cocaine abuser (at peak 1g/week) for about 2 years. After being sober 4 weeks (and having taken steps to never abuse again), I have had 2 panic attacks, (as diagnosed by my dr. and ER staff), and now have PVCs, which I first noticed after a panic attack while sober. 24 hour holter showed 2900 PVCs in 24 hours. I can exercise as normal, and have no shortness of breath. Both primary and cardiologist say my heart sounds fine, and i have a stress test and echo scheduled friday.
