skelaxin mg

Having some very bad lower back pain today that tylenol isn't touching. I was wondering about Skelaxin. I have some and have taken it in the past...but don't even remember side effects or how I felt taking it or anything. Is this addictive?Anybody know anything about it? Thanks!

The best muscle relaxer I know of for me is flexeril (cyclobenzaprene). It comes in 10 mg (flexeril) and 15 mg (amrix). It really helps me but when I take it, I go to sleep. I don't get a funny feeling and I don't get spaced out. I just get really tired really fast so I only take it at night on bad days and stick to 800mg ibuprofen and/or naproxen, sometimes medrol, which is a steroid..

t take during the day,as I have small kids and it made me VERY sleepy!) Then I was put on Skelaxin and I feel like that does nothing( 800mg. 3x day) I could take 2 at one time and still...nothing? I think I'm going to ask to go back on Flexeril(for bed time) to reduce my pain and spasms) Thanks!

I am prescribed Celebrex and skelaxin. I have a question about the skelaxin. Well my job is physically demanding I work in a hospital I do patient care I "boost" patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago.

As the result of a back injury in February, I began taking Soma and 10 mgs of hydrocodone at night to help me sleep. I took no pain killers during the day, just Skelaxin. I stopped taking Skelaxin several weeks ago and am now in the process of discontinuing the Hydrocodone. I took the last Soma and 1/2 of a 5 mg tablet several nights ago. This is my second round with trying to get off this med. The problem is the insomnia or sleeplessness that occurs in the middle of the night.

I think my friend is hooked on benadryl! I have taken 5 mg flexeril for chronic back pain for years and never had any problems with it...I will try to avoid them right now tho because they make me sluggish and I am already fatigued with my cut in dose of hydrocodne..anything can be abused...skelaxin is a fairly safe muscle relaxer.....

In my experience I have found Soma to be helpful as well as Skelaxin. I would have a talk with your doctor and see what he/she suggests. Good luck to you.

I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".

Skelaxin 3600 mg daily Gabapentin 1800 mg daily Vicodin (as needed) Maxsalt (as needed) The pain in my neck is constant/achy and worsens with left to right movement, and up and down movement. My headaches are daily and are manageable for about 90% of the time, the other 10% is debilitating and takes me out of work. Any help or recommendations are appreciated.

I have been taking 900 mg/day Neurontin for a back injury for the last 6 months. I was on other meds, Celebrex, Skelaxin and am off of all except Neurontin. I have tapered the Neurontin to 500mg/day. This question is related to side effects that may be due to Neurontin or maybe my migraines. When I was on a higher dose of Neurontin I was getting almost daily visual disturbances in both eyes that looked like what my migraine auras look like but those are in one eye and are followed by a headache.

oh and broke down and took a muscle relaxer. skelaxin. this shouldn't be a problem right? found an old script. ibuprofen was not cutting it.

I mean just making the pain barable not taking it away was either 2 percecets or 90 mg. morphine per day. Like I said it just made the pain more barable. Plus the doc put me off of work which also helped as I could rest as much as I needed. The pain was like a electrical shock just running through my body none stop. I have never experienced anything like it before.

The muscle relaxer the dr gave me is Skelaxin. Anybody else ever try this. I read on drug ******* the reviews and some people said it really helped without making them dizzy like most of them do. Man I sure hope it helps so I can keep weening off the hydros.

Anyone know anything about skelaxin? My doc just sent a script for that To my pharmacy in place of soma....

I have been taking Toporal XR 25 mg. 3x qd, H ydrochlorathizide 5mg 1x qd for the last 2 years. I woke up Tuesday morning with my head spinning, very dizzy. I took my BP and it was 180/111 pulse 55. This whole week it has stayed between 160/100 to higher and the pulse lower than I have ever had. I went to the doctor, could not see my regular doc but saw the one handling urgent care Thursday. My left leg has been very painful for several months, worse behind the knee.

Today, my neuro suggested i try SKELAXIN (muscle relaxer) for the spasams I am experiencing. I will start those tomorrow. It says take 3x a day, every 8 hours. And if need be a 4th one can be taken. Does this sound right ........every 8 hours?? Please tell me what you think. I pray that everyone is doing ok. This limboland is really taking its toll on me and my family. Have not worked since Jan. that is putting a strain on us finacially. Not to mention, all the worry about my health.

Same thing with having a muscle relaxer to take as needed. Flexeril, Skelaxin, Robaxin, Baclofen, or Zanaflex. This is very useful for those times with bad muscle spasms... Again...an opiate does not target spasms. An opiate just makes our brain not "care" as much. And sure, it can be a small part of one's treatment...but it should never be the main part.

I have had some kind of cold/flu, sinusitis (all in one) for about three weeks. Finally I went to the doctor she prescribes antibiotics, anticough medicine etc. I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help.

Hi, I started taking ultram for multiple vehicle injuries. Ultram didn't work, they tried Tylenol3, tylenol3 didn't work they tried hydrocodone, that didn't work..so they tried percoset 5/325 6X a day. I got used to that dose now im on 7.5/325 6x a day. The more I NEED them. The more I want them. I am definitely addicted but it is not a good addiction. I get very mean, and emotionless over nothing. I go to physical therapy 3x a week. So it is all legit.

I have a very high tolerance when it comes to medication. I have a pinch nerve on my left shoulder (going to get it Xray to see what it really is), which only gets aggravated when I'm stress or overwork it in the gym. My Dr has tried Flexeril, Skelaxin, 500 mg of naproxen and it hasn't work. Now she prescribe tramadol. I have read bad things about it and its side effects. Everything is dated from a few years ago, so I would like update from anyone that is taking it.

I am currently on 1 1/2 tablets of Provigil daily Rheumy increased it yesterday), Maxalt (Neurologist prescribed for Migraines yesterday), 1000 mg of Naprosyn, 8 4 mg Tizandine daily, Skelaxin (another muscle relaxer for work hours only), Furosemide (lasix), Potassium, 3 Nortriptyline at night, Corgard, Phenergan, Compazine, Tranxene and Intramuscular B-12 injections.

I fell asleep in all 4 of my naps and entered REM in 30 secs. on one of them. My average fall asleep time or sleep latency was 3.6 mins and average time to enter REM was 5.4 mins. This was my first time having MSLT, but my other 3 overnight sleep test pretty consistent. I get more REM than I need though, but no Stage 3 or 4. My 2nd sleep test was performed taking 4.5 ml of Xyrem at bedtime and again at around 2:00 am and I still got less than 5 minutes of Stage 3 or 4 sleep.

Felt bump and determined was musculoskeletal. Prescribed anti-inflammatory (Naproxen) and muscle relaxer (Skelaxin). Told me to take as needed (didn’t have to take the full bottle). Took prescriptions for 4 days, Skelaxin caused stomach cramping even when taken as directed. Urine test came back cloudy with high white blood cell count. Concluded was very dehydrated and sent off for tests to determine if infection was present. Also had me go in for blood tests.

I actually tried it a few days ago and it it awesome at just 50 MG 2 times a day. No more pain and I sleep like a baby. It acts directly on nerves by mimicking nerve fluid and calms them. The nerves control muscles, so it calms them too. It also helps with anxiety. So I guess there are non-narcotic ways to control pain. It is an expensive drug, but so was our habit. I understand that it does not work for everybody, but I certainly think it is worth a shot for some of you.
