The muscle pain has not gotten worse, but has spread to my arms, my chest, my shoulders.. it is horrible.

Do you feel adding Lipofen is the best course of treatment? I would like to trying increasing my Simvastatin dose to 20 mg instead to see if that helps. Thank you.
He is still on about half the dose of the Crestor and the arthritis and platelet count are gone and normal. With the diet his cholesterol is 150 and the bp is now 115/70 and he finally lost 30 pounds and can keep it off so he is at 176. My cholesterol without meds went from 200 to 150 and my weight hasn't changed but my BMI is 21 to start with bp is normal or low 95/65.

2) Beta blockers will lower HR, as you know. A resting HR of 50 shouldn't be a problem if you can function, stand up without getting dizzy.... for example.
I'd consider stoping teh BB altogether, it is not doing anyting to cure you heart rhythm problem, and if you can live with the PVC, and get a more nomal and functional HR that could be your getter choice.
If this is raised then there is muscle injury and the drugs should b stopped. If CPK is normal, then the dose and exercise adjustment should help. Fat-soluble statins like Lipitor and Zocor cause more damage than water soluble statins like Pravachol and Crestor. Hence the latter should be tried at lower dose. Possibility of hypothyroidism and diabetes should be ruled out as the presence of either disease can complicate the muscle pain.
Talk to your doctor, and if your cholesterol is within normal range, lower the dose or stop and see if you feel well. However, please do not do any dose modifications on your own.
Other than this, it can be a compression of the spinal nerves in the cervical spine region. This can happen due to overuse of computers, work involving straining of neck, herniated disc, canal stenosis, bone disease, spondylosis, poor posture etc.

Now, what do you know about this anti-viral? Simvastatin doesn't appear available in Nigeria.
I have been on 20 mg of simvastatin and 3000 mg niaspan now my ck levels have went from 60 to 295 i could hardly walk .will my levels come down if i lower dose. and reverse damage. i have 12 stents .the rest of my blood work is fine.
since i am on a complex combo made of etv, gcmaf, ntz, heptech supplements, any effect on hbv, hbsag is from the combo and it cannot be determined if from sim, ntz or whatever
anyway we can say one thing for sure use of simvastatin 40mg for 1 month had no negative effects, normal alt etc, i will slowly increase to 80mg dose and see if any sides or positive effects

Warnings and Precautions
Because simvastatin can affect the liver, it is used with caution in people who drink more than a moderate amount of alcohol or have a history of liver disease.
Simvastatin is not recommended for people with liver disease or high liver enzymes before treatment begins.
Possible Symptoms of Liver Problems
Several symptoms can occur in someone who develops liver problems while taking simvastatin.
My husband is only 38, he had a stroke last year he had a stent put in, now he is on plavix, atenolol, hydrochlorothiazide 25mg, last week his doc added niacin 500 mg, simvastatin 20, flexeril and tramadol, also his one aspirin each day, these are just so many meds, are they safe?
