When I came off of it, my doc put me on a taper as I came off of it. I did notice some side effects like naseau and increased anxiety, however I kept an open line of communication with the doc. I asked if it would be okay to go on a slower taper as I came off of it. He agreed and the slower taper seemed to help with the side effects. I am glad that you are seeing a psychiatrist to help you with your medication prescriptions and questions.

Has anyone else taking Fluoxetine (similar to Prozac) experienced side effects? I have noticed some odd changes in the way my body responds to exercise; specifically, excessive sweating. I'm not sure if the medication is directly linked, but in the past year (I have been taking the drug for about 2.5 years) I break into an all over the body sweat very easily, and it has happened even when I'm not exercising.

I was on fluoxetine for over 6 years without any side effects, then i came off it for 6 months ,I then had to go back on it ,but it started to cause a stuffy blocked nose and ear and head pressure which then resulted in pain in and around the eye ,has anyone heard of this and has this happened to anyone else?

All of the medications have different side effects. I would journal what you are feeling so that you can keep track of it day-to-day. Since it does take 4-6 weeks for these medications to really start working, you may be having a combination of side effects and the anxiety you already had. Try to eat even though you don't feel like it. Even if it is a lot of small meals during the day. Of course if your nausea turns into vomiting, then you need to call your doctor ASAP.

ve read that these are passing symptoms and that these side effects will go after a couple of weeks. can any one offer a word of kind reassurance? Thank you.

After quitting sertraline, all these went away, but the depression came back, so I tried Moclobemide, ending up with ever more severe side effects and more anxiety as well.

how long will i experience the side effects of my med , i started it about a week ago tomorrow, i think i have every possible side effect that there is for fluoxetine! HELP!!!!!!!

About a month ago I went to see a psych and he put me on 40mg of fluoxetine and told me to come back in a month and a half to up the dosage. However, I'm not sure if it's working for me... or if I'm just getting bad side effects. Within the month that the psych left me I had to go through a length and painful trial, to which the fluoxetine just made feel completely numb, I know I should feel sad but for some reason I can't cry.

I do NOT tolerate these tablets as well and have also tried the 10mg capsules with the same effects (less effective more side effects- nausea, dizziness, fat face, racing thoughts, decreased libido, nightmares, sleep disturbances, etc.).. I have called several pharmacies but they all have the blue tablets too -_-... Th side effects persist even after a month on the different pill forms too.. Any options left? Or must I suck it up and take a pill that makes me sick or discontinue usage...

Hi I'm new to this forum. I just started the same meds on Sunday 7/3. Seems to have taken the edge off already, but I'm still feeling very anxious, nervous and am tired of my hands being all clammy. How long does it take to feel normal again? Starting some therapy next week...can't wait.

You can have start up side effects when starting a new med. This can include increased anxiety. The side effects usually get better in a few days. I hope your Dr does call you back. This med should be tapered with the help of your Dr. If he does'nt call by mid day give him a call.

One of the side effects of this particular antidepressant fluoxetine is excessive yawning. Read the leaflet that comes with the medication and you will read it in the side effects section.

yes anti depressants can cause mania type reactions - usually in bipolar people, th'at is why I don't take them. Maybe get a second opinion on the diagnosis, that is not a particularly normal reaction for unipolar depression, When they were still giving bipolar patients anti-depressents regularly I tried every variety and had a particular problem with SSRI's.

That's a taper up. The lowest therapeutic dose for most people is 20mg. I can't remember my dose when I was on it, but I think it was higher than that. I am wondering why, though, you are starting on Celexa rather than Lexapro. Interesting choice. Lexapro is the newer form of Celexa, and supposedly has fewer side effects than other SSRIs, though whether that's actually turned out to be true or not I don't know. I was on both of them.

I have suffered depression since my daughter was born 7 years ago,I have been on 3 different types of anti-depressants.I am currently on 20 mg of fluoxetine and Lyrica and if I have a drop of alcohol I have panic and anxiety attacks for hours after. I took Propanolol, BP medication, and Ativan with it. I had no noticeable side effects, and when switched to a different one, no problems during the switch. I still take depression and anxiety medication, I have had to switch throughout the years. We usually don't know how we will react to a medication until we take it, as we are all different. Where one has good results with a medication, another may not. Did a psychiatrist diagnose you and prescribe your medication?

ve never heard of Vyvanse. It sounds to me like you may be experiencing side effects of Prozac. It might be an idea to go to your family doctor and tell her or him about the symptoms you're experiencing. Good luck.

Hi Nick, In short, anything is possible and many meds mixing together certainly make it harder to know what is doing what. Norvasc appears to be for blood pressure normally and a list of drug interactions can be found here : http://www.rxlist.com/norvasc-drug.htm. I claim no knowledge except of what site to look at for this info. Much of it I wouldn't follow either but it will hopefully mean something to you.
