Avatar n tn Steroids can also cause adrenal fatigue, especially with long-term use. I have sworn off all steroids, having suffered the worst of their side effects. I take albuterol and antihistamines and, in the place of steroids, take natural anti-inflammatories which safe, cheap, and more effective than steroids. But, hey, the drug companies can't make any money on them.
746512 tn?1388807580 I was just wondering if anyone here gets side effects from taking albuterol. I have only had the inhaler for about 2 weeks and notice very painful calf muscle cramps that occur a couple hours after taking the inhaler (suppose to pre-treat for a lecture hall that really bugs me). They seem to be getting worse with every dose (only noticed the last couple of times of using it), today my legs are still very sore and crampy and I took the dose 10 hours ago.
Avatar f tn When you say Advair and Albuterol can cause adverse cardiovascular effects, do you mean both of them can cause adverse effects (either/or) or the two used together can cause adverse effects?
757137 tn?1347196453 This is used as an alternative to Albuterol if the side effects are severe with Albuterol. This could also be used in conjunction with Albuterol, to relieve acute flare ups of Asthma. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Administering the medications separately maximizes the therapeutic potenial while minimizing the side effects. The albuterol opens op the passageways. The ipratropium then enters these passageways for a longer effect. Then the steroid enters for the longest effect. The Pulmacort should be taken a few minutes afterwards.
Avatar m tn It is a lot of medicine, but the side effects from the inhaled meds are minimal as very little of the medicine (<1/100th of an oral dose) gets into the general system where it would cause side effects. His dr might have other suggestions for tweaking his meds as well. Home schooling is also an option and might be worth it to protect his health.
1047019 tn?1256719961 t like to use it because it compunds the side-effects of the long acting bronchodilator in my controller medication. However, there are times when I need to use it. Point of story...if you don't need it, don' use it. On the other hand, if you've been prescribed and inhaler and are concerned about being addicted and/or high from it, that won't happen. You cannot become addicted to Albuterol. You will not become high from Albuterol.
Avatar f tn The insert does not state that chest pains and drowsiness are side effects of albuterol. It states that based upon a given number of experimental tests with a large number of subjects a certain percentage experienced these effects. That is to say there is a potential to cause these problems amongst a small portion of the population. Many people experience NO effects. I have used albuterol for years and have never experienced chest pain or drowsiness.
587778 tn?1261397118 Sometimes I add a small quantity (about 1/2 tsp.) of MSM. There are no side effects. The most helpful of all for me is the B5. I also find that this regimen is more effective than the steroid poison. Be grateful she doesn't take it. It damages the adrenal glands, bones, eyes - you name it. Are you sure she had a reaction to albuterol? I can easily see the steroid as the culprit, but albuterol surprises me.
Avatar n tn I was told by my doc that Combivent just has an additional allergy medicine in it, in addition to the albuterol. It shouldn't hurt you, I wouldn't think. I have allergies also and this inhaler worked great for me.
Avatar n tn They are very very scary. Could this be a side effect of Advair. Also, my son is not consistant in taking the medication. Are there side-effects from this med when you don't take it everyday.....twice a day?
Avatar n tn is Nizonide o safe for kids aged 8 and 13? My kids were complaining of bad stomach pain (younger one aged 8 was also having frequent potty - not very frequent) but also stomach cramps. And both have mild flu like symptoms They were prescribed Nizonide O and Rablet by physician? Is it safe? My elder one (aged 3+) is still not okay and is having too much pain in throat too now and running nose.
678431 tn?1227554311 You can ask the doc who prescribed the inhaler about its contents (or look on the package) and also, once you know what they contain you can do a google search to find out more about side effects, etc. Some inhalers contain steroids, others just albuterol but not usually both meds in one canister. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn This is due to its cardiac side effects which are seen at higher doses and more seen with home use of nebulizers. Hence, one need to be careful with the dosage and should not exceed the recommended dosage. The triggering factors like dust, fog, pollens etc. can cause the precipitation of these symptoms. You need to take measures to avoid exposure to such allergens. You can try sleeping with windows closed, which will avoid exposure to aero-allergen in the morning.
Avatar f tn No where does the company mention any of these side effects for albuterol. Being a healthcare professional i was already thinking the worst. If you get this message please respond. I need to know these tics will go away. I am very much into homepathic treatment at home so i have started giving her extra calcium magnesium and b vitamins. It definetely subsides but takes a week or so to fully go away.
Avatar n tn I would assume they do get worse since the meds build up in your body. I have 3 kids ages 16,11,and 7. My husband and I have explained what to expect the best we could but I really don't want my kids to see mom sick all the time. My son just called and asked if I could drive him and some friends to the ice skating rink and I sadly had to tell him to ask dad.
Avatar n tn How long does a one time dose of prednisone stay in your system, and how long can the side effects last?
Avatar f tn combivent also known as albuterol has ingredients in it such as steroids that can definately aggrevate the rhythm of your heart and is actually one of the side effects. I was on albuterol a couple of years ago for bronchitis and the second time i used the inhaler my heart started really acting up...my family doc is the one who prescribed it...i called my heart doc and he told me not to use it and call back the family doc to give me an inhaler that was steroid free....
