Avatar n tn Recently my hubby and I had a baby boy. Shortly afterwards we noticed that Quincy (that cat) has been urinating Everywhere!!!! I assumed it was jealousy, however, late in my pregancy, he started doing what I have never see a cat do! He started sneezing excessively . These sneezes are also followed up with what seems to be an excess of saliva/mucous. He always seems startled when this happens and runs around trying to get it out!
809824 tn?1239128996 He sent me to an ear nose and throat specialist who could only rule out inner ear infection, not inner ear imbalance. I was then sent to the UPMC Balance Clinic in Pittsburgh, PA for vertigo testing and they found calcium deposits in my inner right ear were misplaced (this is where the term 'rocks loose in your head' comes from). After less than 15min of treatment my vertigo, balance, sense of spinning, and major dizziness were gone. I had my decompression surgery April 6, 2009.
Avatar n tn since three months i am having infection in my throat , i used erythromycin but no result then i took azithromycin ........250 mg but no results .. this infection does 'nt cause any type of pain or swelling but i find it irritant and psycologically bothering me .also i am getting cough which is transparent and thick .........
Avatar n tn first time I ever got it I developed Quincy but no abscess, and ever since alcohol has seemed to trigger my tonsils to swell up (I have been teetotal for over a year now). So I'm used to the usual onset of tonsillitis, but this time is different. A few days ago, I developed the feeling of something stuck in my throat but couldn't cough anything up. This feeling was constant and is still present now.
Avatar f tn Keep in mind if you have no symptoms of a sore throat, it could be something like oral yeast infection from taking antibiotics. I would go back to the doctor to inquire what is going on. Also, as a tip, it helps to take a probiotic when taking antibiotics in terms of cutting down from the consequence of removing all bacteria, the bad AND the good. Let us know what the update is.

Avatar n tn With your history, I would be more suspicious of something along the lines of a zoster infection or a primary viral infection (the lesions these cause can be very painful) or even a foreign body. Having said that, no one can make an accurate diagnosis unless they actually LOOK at your voice box! ENT doctors are specifically trained in doing this. If they are unavailable to you, then going to the ER may be your best option. Good luck.
Avatar f tn The white patches have a cottage cheese appearance. They can occur as a consequence to throat infection or sometimes steroid inhalers are known to promote their growth. If topical antifungal agents don't help you may need systemic therapy. Discuss these options with your doctor when you happen to meet him next time. Regards.
Avatar m tn Hi there, Ear pain, sore throat and headache are common in sinus infection. Along with antibiotics drink plenty of fluids to thin the mucus. Mucous thinning drugs and oral decongestants may also be used, as well as systemic steroids, topical nasal steroids and nasal saline irrigation. Steam inhalation should be continued. It is best to see your doctor and seek opinion for your symptoms. If the ear pain is severe you may need referral to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. I hope it helps.
Avatar n tn But if your as bad off as you described, I would call my primary care Dr. If you have a severe sore throat, you could have strep, which is contagious. And if you've had it that long and no relief, it could turn into phnemonia. Call your Dr back.
Avatar f tn Woke up on Saturday with a sudden severe sore throat. Hoarse/muffled voice, pain when swallowing/yawning, slight earache, swollen glands, dry cough, pressure around bridge of nose/eyes, feeling hot and cold and fatigue. Is it just a cold or do I have an infection?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. For the past two months I've been having severe throat pain (on and off) It hurts when I swallow and when I speak. At times it hurts so much I can't sleep. I have to be sipping ice cold water just to try to deal with the pain. My doctor on a few ocasions has told me that I have no infection but prescribes zithromax and Guiatuss AC syrup on two ocasions during the two month period.
Avatar f tn m 31) I had a bleed after the op which landed me back in hospital, I was in hospital 6 days after the op and a further 3 days after the bleed, my soft palate (the thing that hangs down on the back of your troat) healed joined to the other side which makes swallowing difficult, since the operation I hav had 5 seperate bad throat infections, each time I went to my gp who prescribed antibiotics, the latest started a few days ago and I haven't been to the doctors as they keep giving me antibioti
Avatar f tn Just last month I had suffered from severe throat pain leading to fever. I was treated with the antibiotic Azhithromycin, Dolo and allerga for 5 days. Th doc said that it could have been caused by a sinus infection. This time again it seems like I am going to be back with a the same problem since I already have severe throat itching like how it stared last time and the doc too said that my throat is getting infected.
Avatar m tn I have constant 'gunk' in my throat ,which inhibits my breathing and causes severe coughing, and it is also in my nose. I need something to loosen this thick 'gunk' .. so I can swallow freely. I do not have reflux problems. I do have a deviated septum. I possibly could sleep better but at 72 I am not complaining about that.... I feel most nights I get plenty of sleep.
