seroquel withdrawal weight loss

Now that I have stopped taking Geodon, I would like to know if anyone out there has been through the same experience with weight gain AND if weight loss is a side effect of coming off of Geodon? If not, is it easier to lose weight once you are off of the medication? I have my mind back and now I want my body back! Hope to hear some good news!

Unfortunately, I would not recommend starting college right now. Personally, I wouldn't be able to make it. try to help me understand why the doc prescribed me seroquel in high doses 3 times a day to get me through withdrawals i dont really understand maybe some one else will

Seroquel makes everyone tired, its used as sleeper for cancer patients for that reason as well as stimulating appetite. The XR less so.

I HAD MEMOREY LOSS AND SEVERE WEIGHT GAIN. I did not get my memory back that was loss but as soon as i stopped taking it i had no memory loss and loss all the weight i had gained by taking Seruquel and then some. I advise anyone do not take this medication it is really bad for you.I am not a doctor it is my personal oppion. I know because i know what it took from my life alot and i cannot get that back.

Why are the withdrawal symptoms of seroquel the same as the withdrawal symptoms of heroin? I know that you shouldn't just stop taking it and I understand that it is a non-narcotic medication, but I still would like to know why the symptoms are the same? I am currently taking seroquel for anxiety.

Secondly even in transfering to another medication you will get some withdrawal symptoms as I did in the past when transfering from Seroquel to Risperdal which were fatigue and minor flu like withdrawal symptoms which pased in time and were not a problem. But what has truly made a difference in the anxiety (and the weight gain related anxiety issues with the Seroquel) is exercise..... The Geodon was such a nightmare that it still makes me nervous, but then again, I know I'm over reacting to that... It just seems hopeless to be hopeful about not being on medication.... I'd love an alternative, something natural, but until I really get a breakthrough with the cognitive therapy, I think I'm stuck on meds for awhile.....

Weight gain is a problem with some of the medications along with dramatic weight loss. When I was on a Seroquel for a period of time I gained some weight, but not alot, just because I was not using it for its intended purpose but as a sleeping medication. However, it did not work for me and I proved to be leaving it quickly because of it's interactions with other drugs at the time.
