seroquel

736475 tn?1281259327 s because he was suffering withdrawal. If he wants to stop he has to taper off. There are many reasons to stop, but if one of them isn't that the person is cured, then the person still has what he had before. If he has true psychosis, there is currently no cure. If it's depression or anxiety and therapy has worked, then yes, you can stop and not just get whatever you had before. If that were true, nobody would ever be able to stop medication, and that's obviously untrue.
Avatar f tn After reading the horror stories on here about tramadol withdrawal I have decided to stop taking so many and try to get it down to just 1 or 2 per day. I have been on seroquel, lexapro, lamictal and l tyrosine for about two years for bipolar depression. Do u think since I have so many antidepressants in my system that it will make the mental withdrawal a bit easier?? Ive got it down to 6 per day now and not feeling any withdrawal symptoms yet. Any advice? I'm scared.
534105 tn?1226157177 I am now struggling with anxiety and mild insomnia mainly due to withdrawal. Dr. wants me to take 25mg of Seroquel (quetiapine) per day. Do you think this is a good decision? I do not want to be addicted or dependent on any psych drug, and I have heard that quetiapine also is a drug that causes addiction and withdrawal symptoms..
Avatar f tn s unlikely you have tardive dyskenisia (TD) from your Seroquel use as it usually results from long term use. Seroquel does not cause blepharospasms, but benzodiazepine withdrawal can. Dry eye can also cause blepharospasms. Blepharospasms are not necessarily permanent, but they can be. Some people will have it resolve after a few days to a week. If it persists, there are some treatments that you could talk to your doctor about, such as botox.
3166043 tn?1514260018 It took a while, like 4 or 5 months, and the taper was very slow. I was on Seroquel for years. When I was being weaned, I didn't experience any withdrawal effects, and when it came to the last dose range under 100 mg, I thought I could be weaned down faster, but he said no. He also said that if I feel or go through anything bothersome or showed any withdrawal symptoms, to give him a call, and then, usually he adjusted the drug dose depending on what I was describing.
Avatar f tn m touch with my doctor she told me to fast taper off of Vistaril in 6 days then go off the Seroquel because after 2 weeks of being on 25mg I was still sick. So I tapered off Vistaril and went off Seroquel On a Thursday. Still very sick every day. By Sunday I was in a total panic. I went to the ER and they prescribed xanax .5 mg 3x a day. I had enough for 7 days. They told me to city Buspar which I take at 10mg 3x a day in half and take the xanax. Which I did.
Avatar f tn Hello, I was on Seroquel at 800 mg for almost 3 years. This past December 2008, I found out that I was not going to be able to get health insurance. So, I had to stop all my psychiatric drugs because of financial reasons and I also felt like I was misdiagnosed (which now after 6 months med free, I was misdiagnosed). I tried to slowly taper Seroquel, but didn't have enough time to properly do it. I went from 800 mg to 0 mg in about a month and a half.
Avatar n tn Had any experience with seroquel addiction or withdrawal?? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening.

Avatar f tn ve been buying Valium illegally (taking up to 20 MG per day, in addition to my Klonopin), buying Seroquel illegally (for sleep, even though my doctor has prescribed 3 MGs of Lunesta nightly for sleep; right now I'm taking 100 MGs of Seroquel and 3 MGs of Lunesta every night), drinking more (God knows how much), smoking more (I've been blowing through about a quarter of Marijuana per week)... I don't know what to do... I didn't know getting off of Klonopin would be this hard...
Avatar m tn Actually, people with anxiety have incredibly varying physiological symptoms, while withdrawal causes more uniform problems. Insomnia, for example, is an almost universal problem of withdrawal but is not for anxiety. The way I look at it, if emotional problems are different after quitting a med than they were before starting it and the only thing that happened was different is stopping the med, the most logical answer is the med.
Avatar f tn i have been taking klonopin 1/4 every morning and night of a 2mg pill for over a year, have been going cold turkey for 4 days now, what should i expect and how much longer with all these withdrawal symptoms ? I couldn't sleep at night and took seroquel 1/4, finally got some rest, still feel weak and down. ????
561706 tn?1333947274 There is a web site called The Road Back that I used to taper off along with fish oil and other supplements that they recommended to taper slowly off. It is not fast just 5% every two weeks. It works though and your body slowly heals. They have someone you can talk to and tell you how to do it. I have done this and it worked great for me. I did one medicine at a time and exactly how they said to do it. I had to go to a compound pharmacist to have them help me.
Avatar m tn I am back in treatment and I have not been sleeping and just have been feeling overall off balance. They put me on 100 mg of seroquel. The seroquel is making me feel kind of weird. I am sleeping maybe every 3 nights, but the nights I do not sleep and take the seroquel; I feel really weird and think it is making me go crazy. I do not know if I should decrease the seroquel? When is this nightmare going to be over for me?
Avatar m tn My question is whether it is alright to stop Xanax immediately even though I am on a similar dose of Klonipin and whether I may experience any difficulties in stopping the Xanax.I am on Seroquel 50 mg for anxiety.Thanks.
Avatar n tn Why are the withdrawal symptoms of seroquel the same as the withdrawal symptoms of heroin? I know that you shouldn't just stop taking it and I understand that it is a non-narcotic medication, but I still would like to know why the symptoms are the same? I am currently taking seroquel for anxiety.
534105 tn?1226157177 It's hard to say. If it lingers, I'd go back on the Seroquel at the last dose at which you felt fine and do the taper. And get a new psychiatrist -- you want one who is always looking out for you, not one who is in a hurry. Anyone can have a withdrawal reaction, as it's so individual a thing, even if the conditions are such that most people won't get them. Maybe you were one who did.
Avatar f tn I also taking seroquel, lamictal, lexapro and l tyrosine for bipolar depression. Do u think the withdrawal from the tramadol will be bad? Should I taper? What should I expect? Please help me. I'm scared. Thanks.
Avatar f tn i am a reasonably healthy 46yo female & spent 18 years on methadone before being involuntarily withdrawn from 75mg methadone over an 8 week period. Last 20mg I came off at 1mg per day. I am now taking (not prescribed) 5-20mg methadone per day as I couldn't cope with some withdrawal symptoms. Suboxone is not available to me in New Zealand & my GP prescribed zopiclone 7.5mg for sleep.
Avatar f tn I was on it for 8 years (2000-2008) and during that time, the side effect of the Klonopin was mis-diagnosed as depression and I was put on Zoloft, Effexor, and eventually Seroquel as well. Once it was determined that I did not have epilepsy, I was taken off the Klonopin cold-turkey. That was five moths ago.
5243927 tn?1365511675 Not good to even try to stop an Antidepressant, especially seroquel, without medical supervision. Very dangerous. Many WD symptoms related to withdrawal and its recommended to go on a long very careful taper under a doctor's direction. I've never been down that road but have a friend who has. There are a few on here who know way more than I do on this subject. I hope see your post and offer you some better informed info. Stay safe.
Avatar n tn How lon were yiu on it? Did you taper at all? It can take a while. It is one of the more difficult drugs to come off. If you read some of the posts on the substance abusenforum, you will find anlot of tips on helping make the withdrawal symptoms more tolerable.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm a 24 year old female, on Elavil for the past 18 months. Started at 10 mg, increased to 75 mg over time. Originally prescribed to help me sleep and help with my GAD. It helped at first but lost its effectiveness even after increasing the dosage. Panic attacks started while on the Elavil leading my doc and I to believe it is not helping the anxiety. Doc prescribed 1 mg Ativan to take on nights when I must get a good night's rest. It is working wonders for me.
Avatar f tn prescribed Wellbutrin to help me taper. I never went off them, but does anyone know if this heps with Vicodin withdrawal? I aso suffer from depression and Wellbutrin is supposed to help with that also. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn What a great change, maybe too great. Now I am out. This where the withdrawal part could come in. Dr gave me Seroquel. It was the longest scariest night of my life. Since I have gone a few days w/o the xanax and had no noticable issues. I'm wondering what the cause was? Anyone heard of this. My Dr. is out of town so I will have to go to ER if there are any other issues. Second question isn't possible to c/t on a low does of xanax? Or should I still be scared? Really feel pretty good...
