My doctor wants me to consider Sensipar. After reading up on it am more confused than ever. I do not believe I want to take this drug. Scan was negative but from research am not holding it to be accurate. Suggestions and thoughts greatly appreciated.

Being treated for it all meds are sensipar, metropolal tartrate, famatodine, asprin 325mg, insulin 70/30, Gabapentine, hydroxyzine, reneval, advair 250/250. I may have missed one doing this off the top of my head but this is the bulk of it. She takes dialysis 3 days a week also. Please help this is messing with her breathing and her mood.

There are many people on Thyroid Chat that say that the ACCE guidelines that state subclinical would be TSH over 10 with normal t/3 t/4 or TSH 5-10 with normal t/3 t/4 and goiter or antibody are outdated and todays guidelines say that TSH should be at 1 or at least below 3 EVEN with normal t/3 t/4.

oh my parathyroid. Several labs show pth and tsh are normal. I was put on Sensipar for 10 days which barely lowered my calcium. Calcium ranges from 10.3-12.8 depending on the day, and ionized calcium 6.6.... Also, LD-5 elevated, low creatine and proteinuria ....I've seen ent, endo, cardiologist, oncologist....now what? Any ideas?

is there anyone who can tell us more about the new ATA guidelines ? according to their research, they are saying the standard treatment for hypo thyroid should be synthroid drugs, that they found none of the others work... well I was on synthroid for two years, it was not converting to t3... A position paper updating the AACE/ATA guidelines for endocrinologists in the treatment of hypothyroidism was released today. Seems not to have considered either the Danish or Italian studies on the benefits of T4/T3 therapy previously published in EJM, and published by NIH here in February.
