Avatar f tn There are many people on Thyroid Chat that say that the ACCE guidelines that state subclinical would be TSH over 10 with normal t/3 t/4 or TSH 5-10 with normal t/3 t/4 and goiter or antibody are outdated and todays guidelines say that TSH should be at 1 or at least below 3 EVEN with normal t/3 t/4.
Avatar m tn I am trying to get something in writing to show that this decision does not follow within the accepted guidelines for treatment of his form of Hepititis. I believe the Dr. in Az. may have made this decision not realizing he did not have a 12 week blood sample. My son is 43 years old and in otherwise good health. He has not had any symptoms of Hep C nor has he had any side effects from the treatments.
Avatar f tn is there anyone who can tell us more about the new ATA guidelines ? according to their research, they are saying the standard treatment for hypo thyroid should be synthroid drugs, that they found none of the others work... well I was on synthroid for two years, it was not converting to t3... I felt horrible... then I asked my Dr. to put me on armour, and WOW it was like somebody turned on a light switch.. my thyroid panel levels all normal, feel like a million bucks....
Avatar f tn Hey. Here's CDC's updated testing guidelines stating that the test is conclusive 3-4 weeks sooner than their previous testing guidelines (6-8 weeks) http://www.cdc.gov/nchhstp/newsroom/docs/2014/HIV-testing-Labs-Flowchart.
Avatar f tn A position paper updating the AACE/ATA guidelines for endocrinologists in the treatment of hypothyroidism was released today. Seems not to have considered either the Danish or Italian studies on the benefits of T4/T3 therapy previously published in EJM, and published by NIH here in February. At least they suggest including symptoms in making a diagnosis. Interesting read, highly recommend. Here is the PDF link : http://aace.metapress.com/content/b67v7mk73g3233n2/fulltext.
649848 tn?1534633700 CNN would be considered mainstream news, as is Fox. One is preferred by some, the other preferred by others, but both are widely watched and used for reference. It would be very difficult to come up with a complete list of accepted sites, since there are so many of them. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether it is liberal or not; the issue is following the guidelines, as in posting "current" events, being respectful, not attacking or abusing others, etc.
Avatar n tn Hopefully and almost sure you will be UND at wk 12 but as long as the viral load is under 1000 guidelines say continue on to week 24 at which time you must be UND. If not game over. Do you think your doctor is freaked out about the low platelets and doesn't feel you'll be able to continue? 19 is very low but I've seen people treat with 20's right through 48 weeks and platelets do bounce around.
547368 tn?1440541785 t mislead anyone to believe that the CDC is the only governmental agency to propose guidelines. Indeed many other agencies already have guidelines in place including the DEA and FDA. That's what makes the CDC "two cents" even more maddening to me. How many guidelines does this country need? It's pretty clear that pain management is highly regulated and over scrutinized. But y'all know my feelings on the subject! Happy 2016.
Avatar f tn I understand u r following américains guidelines but if you were in my country ans the guidelines were saying 6 weeks ? Would u follow the guidelines.
Avatar m tn As opposed to European (EASL) 2012, Asian-Pacific (APASL) 2012, American (AASLD) 2009, and World Health Organisation (WHO) 2015 major guidelines for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B, the following 3 guidelines are more strict on the conditions leading to necessity of treatment for Hepatitis B, HBeAg negative carriers: Canadian 2009, Japanese (JSH) 2013, and UK/British (NICE) 2013 guidelines are more "strict" when it comes to treatment of negative HBsAg patients, especially in the
Avatar m tn ) when given to patients with PRIMARY hyperparathyroidism. Sensipar (Cinacalcet) is NOT approved by the FDA for treating patients with primary hyperparathyroidism. If your doctor prescribed this drug for you, you should print this page of parathyroid.com and take it to him/her. Sensipar is likely to make you feel sick, and new evidence suggests that Sensipar can make your osteoporosis worse if you take it.

Insurance companies look to restrictive treatment guidelines to determine which treatments are covered. Treatment that falls outside the guidelines is deemed “experimental” and typically not covered. The I DSA Lyme Disease Review Panel was created as part of a settlement with the Connecticut Attorney General.
Avatar f tn Insurance companies are hiding behind IDSA guidelines as supported by the CDC, this is a FACT period no discussion necessary. The IDSA guidelines have everything to do with current Lyme disease treatments. Wiki entries can be written by anyone, perhaps you need more research to be a real voice in this discussion!
Avatar m tn Currently, no test is approved to give conclusive results before 3 months. Until the official guidelines change, that is what we recommend on this forum. A Neg result at 6+ weeks is a very good indication of your final result, but not conclusive. What was your "risk" anyway?
Avatar m tn We use the FDA and CDC approved testing guidelines. Freedome health is in the UK and have different guidelines. Dr.Hook and Dr.HHH have real world testing experience and are confident to give other time lines on testing.
