Sensitization to Bacitracin/Neomycin are common. Also unless there is a secondary bacterial infection, Seborrheic dermatitis is more related to yeast type of organisms which do not respond to anti bacterials.
Since the last five years the dermatitis has evolved onto my face but I think it is a type of yeast infection scaly, itchy and swollen. I only use steroid cream on my body but not my face...I have used anti fungal Clotrimazole 1% ,anti itch Hydrocortisone 1% and Menthol/Zinc Oxide on my face.
I get facial peals that have helped this past year, plus have tried a gluten free diet and have seen 70% change. I still eat some dairy.
In late December, I had a yeast infection on my genitals. At the same time/slightly before this I notice dry flaky skin at the corners of my mouth. I treated the penile infection with a 2% (I think) miconazole nitrate cream; Applying for the most part, twice a day.
Fast forward several months, I have what looks like sebhorreic dermatitis on my forehead (starting from above/in between my eyebrows), sides of my nose spreading downward around my mouth. and a patch on the back of my neck.
Hence if your child is school going then it is unlikely to be seborrheic dermatitis. However it is often hereditary and if you have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis, then your child carries the risk of having it in future life during adulthood.
Moreover it causes redness and inflammation of skin with yellow patches or red, greasy skin covered with flaky white or yellow scales. Hence it is unlikely to be seborrheic dermatitis in your child’s case but confirmation needs to be done.

Given this, what you have is still hair loss with scalp disease as dandruff is a disease. Your physician is treating you in the line of a fungal infection hence, the intake of oral medications.
I was told by my dermo that I had Seborrheic dermatitis. It was dry itchy and scaly under my beard, in the nose folds, ears and eyebrows. I was given desonate gel to use for 2 weeks and things calmed down. However now I just have a redness itchy forehead. I put moisture cream o it and it doesnt really help. Is this still donsidered Seborrheic dermatitis? And would the desonate gel still be the right rx to use?
hi 28 year old male i have Seborrheic Dermatitis however lupus has not bean ruled out i have negative ana test but have had lots of systoms anyway just wanted to know does Seborrheic Dermatitis cause white spots they appear on my Shoulders I also get a load of red spots on my back and Shoulders ive also bean getting a shaking in my right arm for the past couple of days
A month ago I also developed seborrheic dermatitis(head,face neck) which is very mild according to my dermatologist. I had dandruff and severe hairfall 3-4 years ago and now sport a shaven head and have had no dandruff since untill now. I have 2 theories:
1) The penile yeast infection is due to the antibiotics and the Seb-derm came because of over stressing over the HIV scare.
2) I might have HIV and it might be responsible for these conditions.

From the symptoms it can be dermatitis skin, seborrheic dermatitis or fibrous papule of the nose. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky,dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp. under the nose or anywhere on face. People with seborrheic dermatitis produce too much sebum (the natural skin oil). Later, pityrosporum yeast grows excessively in the sebum, sometime along with bacteria, making the dermatitis more persistent.
the most common symptoms of atopic dermatitis are dry, itchy, red skin and seborrheic dermatitis causes flaky,dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas.

Zinc Shampoo for seborrheic dermatitis along with Kerastase Nutritive Bain Oleo-Relax Smoothing Shampoo/conditioner. I also take Viviscal Hair Growth Supplements for the thinning caused by seb-Derm.
But most of all I have reduced my sugar intake to minimize yeast production. My reason for the above regimen is because I became cautious about long term use of all the topical steroid creams that eventually thin or damage the layers of skin.
This may involve areas of the face, chest, and scalp. Definite cause for seborrheic dermatitis is not known. Yeast infections have been associated with this. I would suggest that you continue with your medicated shampoos. There is really no definite treatment for seborrheic dermatitis. If the condition is severe, topical corticosteroids may be able to help. Discuss this with your dermatologist, so that the corticosteroid with the right potency be given you.
It may also be associated with seborrheic dermatitis . Seborrheic condition my present with some degree of scaling in the area. The scaling may be noted in the eye lashes. Is this applicable to your mother's case?
The most likely differential for this is a severe case of seborrheic dermatitis. The cause for seborrheic dermatitis is yet unknown and there is no definite form of medical therapy as this condition may recur. Others have associated yeast infections with it. While some have implicated stress and environmental factors. You may seek second opinion for your condition.

when we are talking about the HIV virus symptoms then we are referring to the reaction of the body after the HIV virus is in the blood stream which will happen normally 2 weeks after the infection , Seborrheic Dermatitis can be related to HIV but not at such early stage .
