I have PCOS too and I have been put on Metformin which helps with weight loss. People with PCOS have a higher insulin levels which decreases your female hormones and increases the male hormones which cause the hair growth and scattered periods. These are things that you know about but with increased insulin levels your body does not process the food correctly and tends to hold onto it which is why I gained weight! Metformin is for glucose patients and that is why it helps PCOS patients.

I was born with eczema and I started to have bronchospasm few years ago. The doc said it might be asthma and prescribed me with salbutamol. However, i found that I don't have the common syptoms as asthmatic people .e.g wheezing or coughing, and it doesn't disturb my sleeping as well. I just feel the bronchi contract and chest tightness which go away after few minutes later without taking the inhaler. I've taken the inhaler before but i found it no use, so i didn't use it anymore.

As I understand it, Victoza delays gastric emptying thus causing the feeling of fullness and decreased appetite. I actually started on Victoza about 3 months ago. I had to change to Byetta in about 2 weeks (finished Victoza sample and insurance would only pay for Byetta). I developed nausea at the smaller dose of Victoza, and never used the larger dose. The nausea was unchanged with the change of meds.....and I have lost a LOT of weight (29 pounds).
To answer your question about weight loss, Yes, it is possible but will take a lot of patience, determination and good eating plan, along with excersise.

Well that's very great news. Some of us are on medications that don't cause weight gain and it is much better. But some of us still are and the medications still work and don't cause other problems. For myself, the mood stabilizer I take Clonidine causes weight gain. I bought some chocolates today and I had already eaten dessert. I was going to snack on them anyway but I told myself not to or the weight gain would start so I didn't.
Basically I've heard of 3 pretty decent weight loss helpers. Green Coffee Bean Extract, Green Tea Extract, and a newer one called Garcinia Cambogia. What I am wondering is would you lose weight faster if you took all 3 or would it be bad for the person taking them? Kind of taking 3 different meds that you shouldn't at the same time. Absolutely. I lost 12 pounds in 3 weeks. Have you had off the hook anxiety for the last 6 to 8 months? For me everything tasted like cardboard and I had no desire to eat. If that is the case for you, it isn't healthy to be in this state of anxiety so you may want to consider talking to your doctor again.
It has for me. I just have no appetite. I'm hoping that turns around once my levels are up!
It works for me where the other drugs have failed. The explanations are unclear. However, at this high a dose, the weight loss effects are apparent. I am over 40, 5'5" and 110 llbs - a loss of 25 llbs, and what I weighed in junior high. I do not recommend this. I have no fat reserves in case of serious illness. I have no appetite and will go for 2 - 3 days without eating because I am not hungry. This is not healthy either physically nor mentally.
