726605 tn?1231368596 Do you take these on a daily basis. Medrol is hardcore. What does your doctor say about medrol during pregnancy. I assume you mean albuterol in the nebulizer. I've taken that during pregnancy...but that's when my asthma's been out of control. Sound like the meds you are taking are "short-term". Those aren't anything you would take on a regular basis for controlling asthma. In any event...
Avatar f tn I have asthma and I only have attacks when I caught a flu or cold and I usually just drink salbutamol cough syrup and it would go away after a few days. But now I had it for 3 weeks. and the doctor told me to start using an inhaler twice a day. Then I was told to take ventollin expectorant I took it but nothings happening to my cough. Then she prescribed clarithromycin and I took it twice a day for a week. It got better,I had no difficulty in breathing anymore the I rarely cough the whole week.
Avatar f tn My chest also developed a wheeze that is not causing discomfort but is still a nuisance. I am now on Salbutamol and Erythromycin. Hopefully this can remedy my symptoms. But are there any other reasons why I have wheeze and a lingering cough? Appreciate the input.
1344892 tn?1276541735 i did take my salbutamol reliever inhaler when this first happened but found it made me feel worse. i have not taken my reliever for 3 days now. please help me i am feeling really unwell. thank you.
Avatar f tn I was born with eczema and I started to have bronchospasm few years ago. The doc said it might be asthma and prescribed me with salbutamol. However, i found that I don't have the common syptoms as asthmatic people .e.g wheezing or coughing, and it doesn't disturb my sleeping as well. I just feel the bronchi contract and chest tightness which go away after few minutes later without taking the inhaler. I've taken the inhaler before but i found it no use, so i didn't use it anymore.
Avatar f tn Hi I hope someone can answer me. a month and a half ago i caught a very bad flu which caused my asthma to flare up. i took cough syrups with salbutamol because that's what i usually do when i catch a flu and my asthma flares up. and usually my asthma and cough would go away for about a few days. but i noticed after a week of taking cough syrup w/ salbutamol that my coughing is not getting better. so i went to visit my doctor after a few days and by then i was on my second week with cough.
Avatar n tn The answer is complicated. The reason for giving these medications sequentially, is that they have different effects. By giving one med before the other the optimal medicinal performance is obtained with a minimum of medication. There is a difference of opinion regarding this issue. My brain is foggy, but that is how it was explained to me a long time ago by a very knowledgable R.N. Ocassionally there are side effects, and mixing the drugs does not hold well for figuring out the problem.
Avatar n tn He has never undergone a second opinion from a pulmonary doctor.Does he really need a double lung transplant or is there medication that can be used instead of this drastic surgery? He also has never been prescribed any medications for this condition.
Avatar f tn Phill, the nebulizer just delivers the albuterol in a better form, doesn't it? It's still albuterol? If your doc knows you're on that, it sounds like it would probably be safe to take. Do you have an after hours nurse you could call to confirm that? If you can't get your breathing under control and you feel like you can't catch your breath it's an emergency situation - you can always go to the ER and they will treat you right away. Best wishes with it.
Avatar m tn can i give salbutamol in 1st trimister thretened abortion?
Avatar f tn The key to asthma treatment is good asthma control. This can involve long term preventative medication, quick acting (rescue) medication, or a combination of both. It is important to take medications as ordered and to have a rescue inhaler/nebulizer ready and available if prescribed. Also, it is a good idea to try and reduce triggers that may cause and asthma attack such as dust and pet dander.
Avatar m tn Are there medications she should be on other than a nebulizer (which she just started), and an inhaler when symptoms are present? Should she be on the nebulizer every day? Thanks for any assistance.
Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar f tn And also then Budesonide in my nebulizer. Nothing helped. I was having near-death experiences trying to get to the nebulizer to open up my air passages. I finally called my pharmacy to find out why I did not get my advair and it turned out that I could still get it and my price was the same as always with my medicare. After just one day I was immediately on the mend. I'm on day three and it's like night and day I am getting well.
Avatar m tn My 20 month old son has asthma. He is on twice a day nebulizer of budesodine. I think it is very similar to pulmocort. He has developed a very red rash in the exact area of the mask. I am trying to get him off the mask and to the pipe but it has been difficult. He has been treated with many things from hydrocortisone to various antibiotic creams, ointments, and currently erythromycin gel. The gel is mainly alcohol and really burns his face. Does anyone have any ideas of how to help?
Avatar m tn I think you are lucky that your salbutamol is working , palpitation is its side effects, leave it
Avatar m tn In late October, I had an important soccer tournament where I played through my asthma by using my nebulizer. During that week, my chest was tight and it sometimes hurt to breathe. Now, in January, my asthma has died down but my chest is still tight. I can go on runs still but the middle of my chest above my sternum is constantly tight. In addition, my throat near the Adam's apple seems to have pressure and it helps to burp.
Avatar m tn Problem: I suffer from mild asthma which severes at the time of season change. 2-3 Days Back I had a sore throat. So, As usual I started a course of azithromycin tablets. After taking 2 Doses, I started experiencing Breathlessness. I didnt take the third dose. I am currently taking Nebulizer and Inhaler. But the Breathlessness doesn't seem to vanish. Is it a severe side effect of azithromycin?
Avatar m tn Should I go see my doctor, or is this something due to change in weather (it has become noticably cooler in this area the past couple days), or something the medication will correct in time? Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn I have wet macular degeneration as well as COPD and my ophthamalogist theorizes that the weird "blisters" that are appearing at the site of the oozing veins may be caused by the steroid content of my asthma medication ( namely Spiriva). So he has asked me to change to something that doesn't contain any steroids. My pulmonologist has suggested I add floridil to my albuterol nebulizer.
Avatar f tn I am 19 wks pregnant and suffer from terrible allergies this time of yr and have to use salbutamol 100micrograms inhaler. I use it up to 3 times a day. My midwife is uncertain if I can use this while pregnant and I have read up on possible effects to the baby and I am terrified. Has anyone used this while pregnant??
Avatar f tn I know a lot of people that prefer and use a nebulizer over an inhaler. I prefer the nebulizer. My doctor has me using the neb more than an inhaler. I am to use my inhaler only when I absolutely cannot use my neb or for very minor issues. Personally, I find it is MUCH more effective. The nebulizer produces a much finer mist than what comes out of an inhaler enabling it to get deeper into the lungs.
Avatar f tn Maybe I figured it out. When my lungs got too dry from medication, I used plain water in a nebulizer to moisten them. It helped a lot. I wonder if the device you are using is more efficient at moisturizing. When a baby has a stuffed nose, you squeeze salt water in its mostrils.
Avatar f tn Because of serious side effects I stopped using steroid inhalers and switched to natural anti-inflammatories and mucolytics instead. The only medication I use now is albuterol which I use in a nebulizer. I also have a small portable nebulizer for when I am not at home. This is better for me than a measured dose albuterol inhaler because I only use what I need at any given time. My health is better with natural products than it was with a steroid inhaler.
