726605 tn?1231368596 Do you take these on a daily basis. Medrol is hardcore. What does your doctor say about medrol during pregnancy. I assume you mean albuterol in the nebulizer. I've taken that during pregnancy...but that's when my asthma's been out of control. Sound like the meds you are taking are "short-term". Those aren't anything you would take on a regular basis for controlling asthma. In any event...
Avatar f tn Hi. I had this cough for almost three weeks now, it started with just a simple cold and turned to an all out asthma attack. Which is not new for me. I have asthma and I only have attacks when I caught a flu or cold and I usually just drink salbutamol cough syrup and it would go away after a few days. But now I had it for 3 weeks. and the doctor told me to start using an inhaler twice a day. Then I was told to take ventollin expectorant I took it but nothings happening to my cough.
Avatar f tn I have been coughing for over three weeks now and I have a slight wheezing in chest. I have gone to see my GP twice and they have diagnosed me with Upper Respiratory Infection. I got Amoxillin and Paracetamol but it did not help much. My cough has subsided for a while but I still have a hack now and again. My chest also developed a wheeze that is not causing discomfort but is still a nuisance. I am now on Salbutamol and Erythromycin. Hopefully this can remedy my symptoms.
Avatar f tn Hi I hope someone can answer me. a month and a half ago i caught a very bad flu which caused my asthma to flare up. i took cough syrups with salbutamol because that's what i usually do when i catch a flu and my asthma flares up. and usually my asthma and cough would go away for about a few days. but i noticed after a week of taking cough syrup w/ salbutamol that my coughing is not getting better. so i went to visit my doctor after a few days and by then i was on my second week with cough.
Avatar f tn Hi, Salbutamol is contrindicated in asthma. It is a long acting beta2 agonist that can be dangerous for asthmatics to take without an inhaled steroid. Also, they take too long to be effective which makes them useless as a resuce inhaler as you have been trying to use it. I would recommend that you request further testing from you doctor. The methylcoline (sp?) challenge is the standard and definitive test for asthma. You are give puffs a methylcoline to try to induce an asthma attack.

Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar f tn I know a lot of people that prefer and use a nebulizer over an inhaler. I prefer the nebulizer. My doctor has me using the neb more than an inhaler. I am to use my inhaler only when I absolutely cannot use my neb or for very minor issues. Personally, I find it is MUCH more effective. The nebulizer produces a much finer mist than what comes out of an inhaler enabling it to get deeper into the lungs.
Avatar f tn I am 19 wks pregnant and suffer from terrible allergies this time of yr and have to use salbutamol 100micrograms inhaler. I use it up to 3 times a day. My midwife is uncertain if I can use this while pregnant and I have read up on possible effects to the baby and I am terrified. Has anyone used this while pregnant??
Avatar n tn I have severe allergies to most trees. For the past 6 years I have developed a chronic dry cough in the fall season until it snows in the winter. When I blow my nose, there is a sticky white mucus that comes out. I have been told by the allergist that this is asthma and allergies. I am taking 2 puffs of QVAR in the morning and night, half a tablet of reactine and singular at night, and Avamys in the morning.
Avatar m tn I undergone treatment for PTB june 2016 to december 2016, I haven't had any xray then, because I got pregnant August 2016 while taking my medecines, I gave birth May 21,2017 and always attacked by my ashtma, and now I went to my doctor and gave me co amoxiclav 625mg and salbutamol+guaefenesin tablet started taking October 18,2017, and had my xray ang got my result just yesterday, and result is upper right lobe infiltrates, ptb considered. what does it means ?
889551 tn?1416184483 Get a nebulizer. Ask your pediatrician for a script. Inhalers are very difficult to use on infants and nebulizers are the only effective way to get your little one medicated. I am nurse with a son with pediatric asthma. We've been through it all. I wish you well. If your MD refuses to allow you a nebulizer, find an allergist or another pediatrician.
Avatar n tn My boyfriend a 51yr male has been listed for a lung transplant in the next 30 days.He was diagnosed with,PF,COPD, and emphysema.. He has no other health problems. His PFT scores average 51% and he uses oxygen most of the time.He has never undergone a second opinion from a pulmonary doctor.Does he really need a double lung transplant or is there medication that can be used instead of this drastic surgery? He also has never been prescribed any medications for this condition.
Avatar f tn You can buy one from the pharmacy or if you cannot afford it, go to the hospital or clinic but you may also be charge for nebulizer use. Decide what's more affordable for you.
Avatar f tn I took her to the doctor who prescribed her Salbutamol cough syrup 3.5 mg 3 times a day saying that she has wheezing. Is it safe? It is not releiving the cough at all, already tried for one and half day. It is about the same.
Avatar n tn Xopenx 1.25 mg and Ipratropium Bromide 0.02%.
Avatar m tn This can cause bloating of stomach and consequent breathlessness. Check with your doctor for adequate control of asthma. Ventolin or salbutamol is a rescue inhaler, that means you take this when you have an episode of Asthma. There are reliever inhalers which work for up to 12 hours after taking each dose. They include salmeterol (brand name Serevent) and formoterol (brand name Atimos). Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
1154802 tn?1266485720 I have been asthmatic since I was 2 years old (very severe as a child, mild now) and for a long time as a child it felt like I was spending most of my time using the damned nebuliser!! When I was about 8 a doctor told my Mum that nebulisers aren't any more effective than your usual inhaler and to stop using it. Since then I've never used it. My asthma went basically dormant for years but now I'm 19 and it has come back quite badly within the past six months or so.
Avatar f tn He has done every antibiotic there is (pill form, nebulizer, inhalers and pick line) for this and nothing is working anymore. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
880900 tn?1467270141 I have had deep veinal thrombosis, a couple of TIAs, and severe rheumatoid arthritis (for 24 years). Two years ago, my GP prescribed a salbutamol inhaler. I would maybe need a squirt of salbutamol twice a week, then, but I am now needing to use it about three or four times a day. Could you tell me whether the dyspnea is heart or pulmonary system related, or has it to do with the RA? How should it be treated? Thanks so much for your help!
Avatar n tn My dad had a tracheostomy procedure a month ago. In the last two weeks, he has been gasping for air and coughing almost non-stop when he's awake. When he's asleep, he occassionally wakes up doing the same. The tracheostomy tube was replaced with a new one; however, the problem presisted. Anybody who has experience with similar patients and can help with what to do?
