Avatar f tn Hi, Salbutamol is contrindicated in asthma. It is a long acting beta2 agonist that can be dangerous for asthmatics to take without an inhaled steroid. Also, they take too long to be effective which makes them useless as a resuce inhaler as you have been trying to use it. I would recommend that you request further testing from you doctor. The methylcoline (sp?) challenge is the standard and definitive test for asthma. You are give puffs a methylcoline to try to induce an asthma attack.

Avatar n tn For many years, GER [Gastroesophageal reflux] during infancy and childhood was thought to be a consequence of absent or diminished LES tone [lower esophageal sphincter, which is sometimes also referred to as the Cardiac Sphincter due to its proximity to the heart]. However, studies have shown that baseline LES pressures are normal in pediatric patients, even in preterm infants.
Avatar n tn I have severe allergies to most trees. For the past 6 years I have developed a chronic dry cough in the fall season until it snows in the winter. When I blow my nose, there is a sticky white mucus that comes out. I have been told by the allergist that this is asthma and allergies. I am taking 2 puffs of QVAR in the morning and night, half a tablet of reactine and singular at night, and Avamys in the morning.

Avatar m tn This can cause bloating of stomach and consequent breathlessness. Check with your doctor for adequate control of asthma. Ventolin or salbutamol is a rescue inhaler, that means you take this when you have an episode of Asthma. There are reliever inhalers which work for up to 12 hours after taking each dose. They include salmeterol (brand name Serevent) and formoterol (brand name Atimos). Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.

880900 tn?1467270141 I have had deep veinal thrombosis, a couple of TIAs, and severe rheumatoid arthritis (for 24 years). Two years ago, my GP prescribed a salbutamol inhaler. I would maybe need a squirt of salbutamol twice a week, then, but I am now needing to use it about three or four times a day. Could you tell me whether the dyspnea is heart or pulmonary system related, or has it to do with the RA? How should it be treated? Thanks so much for your help!

Avatar n tn Hi, my GP has changed my meds today from seravent, becotide and salbutamol to Symbicort turbohaler. I have never used a turbohaler before and am finding it really hard to "suck" the drug into me! I have read the instructions and followed them to the letter but it just seems really difficult to suck through. Is this normal? or could the turbohaler be faulty? Also does it matter if i hear 2 clicks when loading? Please help as really need it to work!
