Rozerem and sleep

Common Questions and Answers about Rozerem and sleep

rozerem

Avatar m tn One good option you could ask your psychiatrist about is the medication Rozerem which works to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive. There are other options as well but that's one worth asking about. Also it might be a simple matter of timing. If a medication keeps you awake at night you could ask your psychiatrist if you could take it earlier in the day and see if that helps. Discuss all this with them and see what they say.
994257 tn?1266242692 I know since I had trouble falling asleep in addition to sleep disruption I was prescribed the sleep aide Rozerem which is non addictive and actually adjusts the sleep cycle like melatonin but I don't know if it would be prescribed for sleep disruption but you could ask your psychiatrist.
603015 tn?1329862973 I am aware that these are supposed to be used short term, they are not addictive but now 4 months on I am still taking them, my mood is much more settled but im not completley right yet, I have tried a few times to try and go to sleep but I am wide awake tossing and turning and I end up taking one in the middle of the night anyway. I have had the whole bath thing, no stimulents, relaxation techniques etc.. I just seem to have lost the ability to go to sleep.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for your question. Questions regarding medication are best discussed with your doctor as they prescribe the medication and know your particular situation. What is your specific issue with insomnia? Rozerem seems to be best used for those who don't fall asleep easily. Is that your situation? It works on melatonin and is not supposed to be habit forming which is a great benefit. https://www.medicinenet.com/rozerem/article.
Avatar f tn Livia, Last year I experienced sleep anxiety for 2 1/2 LONG months . . . existing on 2-3 hours of BROKEN sleep per night . . .. . .sleep meds and antidepressants didn't help. Sought counseling, started exercising and doing things to reduce stress in my life, and I found by reducing caffeine helped my anxiety during the day. You migh try relaxing with a hot shower, relaxing music, or a good book, and then just say , I release the day and everything that happend. . .
Avatar n tn My 6 1/2 year old girl has quite a patch of longer, darker axillary hair. Doesn't have pubic hair or breast development... She has always been tall for her age--but both parents are too (5'10" & 6'3"). I didn't really link this until reading up a bit, but she started having strong sweat odor at about 5 y.o. She also has a sleep disorder that we finally saw a pediatric sleep specialist for-- now she uses a blue spectrum light every morning.
Avatar m tn However, there is no known interaction between rozerem and sertraline. You could try and adopt good sleep hygiene measures like going to bed at the same time, waking up at the same time, avoidance of alcohol, smoking and caffeinated beverages. Try and maintain a warm, comfortable bedroom environment and engage in relaxing activities like a warm bath before bed time. Hope This Helped and Do Keep Us Posted.
Avatar n tn She is currently in dosage of 25/150, 25/150, 25/100, and around 0.16 requip before sleep together with Rozerem 8mg and Zyprexa 1.25 mg. (I forgot to mention Zyprexa in previous post) But strangest thing is she becomes much more difficulty in falling and staying asleep. In theory, if the dyskinesia/teeth grinding went away, she should feel much better and more easier to get into sleep. But it does not.
Avatar m tn I am actually being tapered from Risperidone and Xanax by my Psychiatrist and am having sleep problems but I shall take Melatonin or Rozerem instead after consulting my Psychiatrist as I dont want go through another withdrawal syndrome.
Avatar f tn I am very sensitive to most psych meds. Currently taking Celexa 1mg daily, lamictal 12.5mg daily and seroquel 50 mg at bedtime to help me sleep. I've had problems with getting to sleep and staying asleep for several years. How long can I continue to take seroquel for sleep? Sometimes it works and sometimes not.
985832 tn?1249126599 If its an issue with sleep aides Rozerem is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive and is actually more effective than melatonin
Avatar f tn Nurse presc. Rozerem for my sleep problem. Taking xanax 4 times daily .25mg. Has anyone taken this sleep aid with success or was it bad? Any replies good or bad PLEASE! She pres.
Avatar f tn s in the long run but the effect can be masked while it is occuring and should not be given for assistance with sleeping for this reason. Lunesta and Rozerem are known sleep aides that are safe and effective and can be taken every day especially Rozerem which is derived from Melatonin and helps regulate the sleep cycle.
Avatar f tn Suggest continuing to work on your anxiety disorder and as you make progress expect your sleep to improve. Ask also about using a CBT sleep training program as a permanent, sustainable, and substance-free solution.
Avatar m tn The natural remedy that is specifically helpful as a sleep aide is melatonin but Rozerem was derived from it and as an FDA approved medication is a safer option. Other natural remedies more have a calming effect. There is a specific forum for complementary medicine where people might have more information. Any ideas should be discussed with your psychiatrist and generally if a medication is working unless your psychiatrist says otherwise its worth remaining on it.
Avatar n tn I have been on Rozerem for several years now as a sleep aid and it seems to help. I still have bouts of imsomnia every two to three weeks, but on the other hand, I don't need to take my Rozerem ] every night -- if I'm really tired, I will fall asleep pretty fast. I am always in bed by 9 or 9:30 because I have to get up early work.
Avatar n tn Can anyone let me know if Rozerem 8mg (RX sleep aid) and Prozac 20 mg (antidepressant) are safe to take with methadone (15mg daily) I am detoxing after 15 years on MMT and have slowly "tapered" my dose from 60mg daily to 15mg daily. I am having some insomnia & depression/antiety issues related to my husband being on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Just want to make sure i'm not gonna "croak" if I take the other meds.
Avatar f tn I have sleep anxiety and only sleep 4 to 5 hours a night. I feel exhausted most of the time and I am able to fall asleep with melatonin but only helps for about 4 hours. I've tried Ambien, Clonazepam and everything over the counter. Clonazepam seemed to work but it's a controlled drug so I would like to get off it. Has anyone tried Rozerem? It's not a controlled drug. Thoughts or experience on Rozerem would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Zolpidem (Ambien) and eszopiclone (Lunesta) have been shown to reduce the time until sleep occurs and increase total sleep time. The sleep induced by them resembles natural sleep. Ramelteon (Rozerem) has shown to reduce the time until sleep occurs. It may be more useful for people who mainly have trouble falling to sleep and less effective for patients who routinely stay awake during the night. It is also believed to be non addicting and may not impair motor functions.
Avatar f tn Hello! Can I take Belsomra and Rozerem together if the effect of one drug is not enough?
Avatar n tn i've heard some people say it gets better for them. this particular side effect seems to be more common than it should be....and with the sheer volume of people who take it every night, it's a rather scary thought. i've seen a few other posts on this. maybe try to search the archives and read through what others have said on the issue.
1116728 tn?1276797124 If you are concerned though Rozerem is one FDA approved option that is safe and non addictive and works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle. You could ask them if that's a possibility but it would be within their judgment of course.
741315 tn?1232458427 Rozerem works in the same manner as Melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle. Those are some ideas to speak to your psychiatrist about.
1088646 tn?1256949923 Ambien is generally meant for short term use. The FDA approved sleep aide Rozerem works exactly like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive and can be taken every day. You could ask your psychiatrist about that.
Avatar f tn Ramelteon has not been shown to produce dependence and has shown no potential for abuse, and the withdrawal and rebound insomnia that is typical with other GABA modulators is not present in ramelteon.
