Common Questions and Answers about Ropinirole side effects gambling

requip

Avatar n tn In my opinion, this is probably one of the worst side effects of SSRIs. After a taper off of these medications with the doctor's approval, you will see a marked improvement as the dosage goes down, in my experience. Sorry to be so ambiguous, but these medications effect people in different ways, but it does get much better:)....keep us posted!
Avatar f tn I looked online and found out that Tramadol ( a generic for Ultram 50) will help it and it has no side effects. I told my doctor and he prescribed it for me and it works wonders! I take it about 2-3 hours before I go to bed. I have restless leg real bad. I used to control it with a glass ofmilk and a banana every night but it progressed beyond that. Try it!
Avatar n tn s extremely hard to predict. The effects of Marijuana on cardiac rhythm is very poorly understood. Even with foods and environmental factors triggers are highly individualized. Even in the case of Betablocker interactions with Cannabis generally most reports are anecdotal and seem to vary with each individuals response to the drug. On the bright side; I don't know of any lethal instances of Marijuana affecting a patient.
Avatar f tn So right now I am currently taking ziprasidone 80 mg, chantix 1mg, topamax 50mg 3x day, and ropinirole for side effects 1 mg once a day. I can't believe I actually made it through the night last night. I had some psychosis and was up all night long, but laying and I had the shakes at first but I'm actually proud I made it through the night without popping that pill. Took my medicine this morning and slept for about 5 hours and no psychosis, hallucinations or anything.
1390101 tn?1281000559 I was on mirapex for 3 years, my miracle drug, for my RLS during that period I develop a gambling addiction. I find out that this is a side of the mirapex. For the sake of my self and the loss od my my family I choose to get off of it.I It took me 2 trys to get off of them and have suceeded. I no long have the urge to gamble. ,Now I am on simumet for my RLS and it does not work like the mirapex , I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go to sleep.
Avatar n tn Here I am now with constant brain zaps and other side effects that come and go and I am wondering if maybe I could or should get a second opinion on all of this medication or should I try going with my doctors advice and take the symbyax again and be happy in a vegitative homeless world or be unhapppy and have a well taken care of family. To me options are not looking so good.
1004161 tn?1252481849 I'm a 56 year old female and I've had RLS off and on for years. I have even had it while sitting in chairs, and a few times in the car on a long trip. That's the worst because you can't stretch your legs in the car. I have to pull over to walk around. The only time I've never had it is while walking. There,s nothing I can recall that has precipitated it. I have poor circulation in my legs, many varicose veins and a family history of circulation problems in the legs.
Avatar m tn I have been taken Ropinirole for sometime now and it helps a little. As for sleep,I get very little of.
Avatar n tn That said for peace of mind the doctor advised PEP which I have anxiously mulled over for hours before deciding to take my first dose. The side effects sound awful and almost seem to outweigh my risk here. Two questions: Do you think it was the right move to start the PEP? And, secondly are the side effects really that bad? Am I guaranteed to be very sick on these drugs for the whole 4 weeks?
7126533 tn?1388405470 My RLS started over 20 years ago and has been really bad for about 15 years. Ropinirole, once I was put on it in 2007, was a Godsend and just about covers it as long as I don't miss a dose (currently 4 x daily starting at 10am) My consultant has now suggested trying Slow Mag (Slow release magnesium) in hopes that I can reduce the number of Ropinirole I have to take to be able to function normally.
Avatar n tn My restless legs are horrible! It mainly effects one leg, but sometimes it will be both. I have been diagnosed by my Dr, but the meds he gave me are not helping. He says there is no cure, but prescribed me a medicine for MS. It feels like a horse is chewing on my foot. They dont tingle, they THROB. The only relief I have found is a hot heating pad, tiger balm and alot of prayer. I wake up exhausted from fighting the pain.
Avatar m tn I am very concerned with my recent gambling habits and asked my doctor if it was a side effect of the medication. She told me i am just making poor decisions and it is not due to the meds. I took her word for it and said to myself that it is a decision and decided i would no longer gamble. But I'm scared because i keep doing it. My entire paycheck and now using my line of credit! This has been going on for 3 Weeks.
Avatar m tn ve apparently had hep C for over 20 years and you are have some serious (possible) side effects why not just treat now? Do you know what genotype you are?
Avatar f tn Hi, Not sure about everyone else but I know that for me the restless legs is one of the worst symptoms. I told my doctor that I was struggling and he prescribed me Ropinirole tablets, one to take before bedtime. I took one last night and, fingers crossed, it seemed to work. Most of you are probably aware of this but for those who aren't, it might be worth a try.
Avatar f tn Since I already have RLS, will I have to look forward to an increase in the severity of my RLS??? I am very worried. I take Requip (ropinirole) for RLS but it is not a total relief of it. RLS is hell as you dread going to bed, you dread movies, you dread airplanes as you know that your legs will instantly start to ache and you will have the compulsion to constantly move them to relieve the discomfort.
Avatar n tn Dopamine agonists such as ropinirole, pramipexole, carbidopa/levodopa or pergolide are used and you have to monitor these drugs. There are some issues with the use of dopamine agonists. There are conditions where the drug itself causes symptoms to increase in severity and/or occur earlier in the day. Monitoring the adverse effects of the drug and titrating a proper dosage is important for your daughter. Take care!
230948 tn?1235844329 I have heard the side effects to these drugs are not nice but can make a difference to your life, i just talked to another lady under the same consultant and she has been on this drug and she is struggling with the side effects but it has changed her life around and she has fibro. The drug she was on was called pramipexole but there are many but do the same thing mirapexin, ropinirole (requip) which is what you were on.
4522189 tn?1355849005 Hi, I'm new here and have a question about addictive personality. when i drink (3 or more x week) i drink only in the evening after 6 and i drink to sleep. i know it has the opposite effect. when i drink i smoke. also on pain meds in the day time, find Lyrica addictive, i actually crave Lyrica after I have had 2. an hr or so later i crave more, and more. I used to gamble was able to nip that quick. Since I don't have any disposable income, aside from food and beer.
335728 tn?1331414412 I will keep trying it and see if the side effects start to decrease as they say they should as my body gets used to it. I am supposed to color my hair this afternoon and make stew for my hubby for supper and get a shower and then go to a friends to play cards tonight...WISH ME LUCK! I guess I will go try my hair now and will let you know what happens. Last time the color only took on parts of my hair so I've been lookin' pretty patchy but I will try again!
Dog Hi, I take Ropinirole (Requip), and this mefication over the years has worked really well. But as you know what might work great for one patient might not work great for another. But maybe worth a try.
279948 tn?1241270076 It certainly is a difficult position to be in - requiring a medication that has undesirable side effects. You are wise to be concerned about this because sudden onset of sleep can happen at a time that is life endangering to you or others. When I was at my worst with that, I had to stop driving and cooking.
865566 tn?1356700362 re less likely to have severe side effects. I had very minimal side effects. A few minor headaches and some moodieness, but they only lasted the 5 days I was taking the Clomid and I think a lot of the moodieness had to do with my seasonal depression. The one thing I will say is that in the TWW Clomid can cause you to have symptoms that can mimic pg signs. I had very sore bbs, and that's not normal for me, so I had my hopes up, until I found out that was a side effect.
Avatar m tn I will do that it seems the higher dose has created this and I'm not on anything else.
