Avatar m tn According to Wiki you would cardiovert. People with hemodynamically unstable VT should not receive amiodarone. HOWEVER, I have no way of knowing if this is correct (I am not a medical professional). If you run into this situation, I suggest a phone call to the doc. You can also post your question on the heart rhythm expert forum. That one has a doctor to answer the questions. regards, Bromley.
Avatar f tn Medical treatment is available to reduce sensitivity, with sodium valproate being commonly prescribed. Patients can also learn to avoid situations in which they might be exposed to stimuli that trigger seizures and/or take steps to diminish their sensitivity (as by covering one eye) if they are unavoidably exposed. These actions together can reduce the risk of seizures to almost zero for many PSE patients. ref:http://en.wikipedia.
1448921 tn?1287789632 Hello once again Friends. Sorry I'm always so full of questions. But this has been bugging me and I just know you guys will know the answers! I'm having a hard time understanding how hypokalemia is not a big issue for us ADers? I'm taking the Florinef now and adding tons of sodium and fluids. This from my understanding of anatomy is a dangerous combo. Doesn't high sodium + Florenif = disaster for potassium?
Avatar n tn I had to go to hospital I thought I was going to die. I had given myself water intoxication as my sodium had gone dangerously low. I was given antibiotics and have continued to drink frequently. Last night I got the same dizzy episode so went to hospital again, low potassium this time even though I hadn't drank that much. Anyway, my urine came back clear of infection but I am still having extreme pain, pressure to wee and a lot of the time nothing comes out.

Avatar f tn Alright, I have tried everything that has been advised to me for constipation. I am 9 weeks, 2 days along. Even pre-pregnancy, I am a health freak and do eat fresh fruits and veggies everyday as well as fruit and nut bars. I have tried apple juice, prune juice, and normally coffee gets me to go but I am at the point now to where I am giving into OTC stuff. I found some stool softener in the cabinet, it's the Equate brand of Colace -- it has Docusate sodium (50mg) and Sennosides (8.6mg).

704458 tn?1236841243 c o m and there they have a daily plate section you fill in what you eat and drink, they work out the calories and the protein, carbs, sugar, fibre, cholesterol and sodium levels - I have been shocked to see that for instance: 2 slices of white bread a little light flora spread ketchup 2 pancakes 1 medium baked potatoe 3oz cheese half tin baked beans Takes me to: 151.47% of my daily allowance of sodium 100.8% of my daily allowance of carbs 101.32 % of my daily allowance of protein. Avatar m tn After reading a couple of articles about the sodium ascorbate I think it is worth a try.A person need 20gm per day for 10 days.Vitamin C is cheap and comes in 1gm tablets. One would have to take 20 in 24 hours. That would be 4 tablets 5 times a day for 10 days.I have always said that during detox if a person feels compelled to take a tablet because they are used to taking tablets for everything,'take a couple vitamins c 1000mg.
Avatar f tn Yes low sodium levels can be dangerous, have you tried drinking some sport drinks? http://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C549291.
Avatar f tn I am 22 weeks pregnant and type 2 diabetic so I am very cautious about what I put into my body. Tonight I ate turkey sausage and after realized in the ingredients it contains sodium nitrite (2% or less) I have heard nitrites are a big no no during pregnancy and i am freaking out! Will everything with baby be okay? What are the concerns with nitrites? Birth defects? Misscariage? Or am I just over reacting and will be okay as long as it is in moderation and not a everyday thing?! Please help!!
Avatar m tn I am a 68 year old female. I have sodium of 132. It has fluctuated between 132 and 136 for the last 8 years. Is this a problem. I was taking 100 mg of atenolol when it went to 132. My doctor changed me to 50 mg a day since my b/p is much better now. Did this affect my sodium or do I just need to eat more salt?
