Avatar f tn The Dr put me on Bystolic, but it was samples and there is no information on side effects. I have started having stomach problems and acid reflux lately. Can the Bystolic be causing this? What would be other good choices?
Avatar f tn s probably my dose is too low, but I now have at least 10 of the side effects listed on the prescription information website. These also all start within minutes of taking a dose (I'm currently taking 25mg). I get headaches, become extremely thirsty, heart pounding, very dizzy and weak, feel like I'm going to pass out. I just got new thyroid labs as well as a metabolic panel to check my sodium and potassium, but I won't know those results for another 2 weeks.

Avatar f tn I am free of HCV but I too have long term side effects. It startedwith pain in joints and fatigue. After a couple of years I could no longer work due to what I later found out was multiple chemical sensitivities. They were severe. I stayed home for over 10 years and completely eliminated fragrances and other products with VOCs from my life. Slowly over years of avoidance I felt like I was getting better. (I was turned down for Sadi and humiliated).

Avatar f tn I agree with you - I also hate prednisone!! It does work wonders for many things, but it sure does have a lot of nasty side effects too. I've been on it many, many times in my lifetime and quite often at very high doses - my highest being 120 mg daily (yes, I did say 120!!). I hope the decrease you made was under the guidance of your doctor.
1464004 tn?1384135733 Hi folks! As many of you know I am on metoprolol tartrate 25 MGs b.i.d. for my PSVT. Even though I'm on the lowest dose I do get quite a bit of side effects as far as being overtired and dragging. My cardiologist now has started me on verapamil because my BP has been running high. I'm just afraid this is going to make me even more tired and dragging. Is anybody on this combo and if so how have the side effects been?
Avatar m tn I was wondering if any of these side effects could have to do with potassium (or other mineral) levels in my system? I've read conflicting posts (I generally on read "official" web sites rather than rely upon sometimes unreliable "patient only" forums) about potassium levels. One web site says to eat more potassium rich foods; another says to stay away from foods containing potassium.
Avatar m tn If you have been using the medications for sometime and these are the only side effects, the possibility of other side effects is hot high; though the possibility cannot be excluded. Hope this information helps. Take care!

They usually do a good job of explaining side effects (and everything else about different meds) in an underdstandable way: http://www.crazymeds.us/valproate.html If all else fails, have a good long chat with whomever is prescribing it about side effects, and discuss how the benefits outweigh the risks. Good luck!

Even if he was given 15-20 glasses of water in a day, there was no increase in the amount of urination. Avatar n tn My daughter who is 25 has coldness and twitches on her left side of her body from her face, tounge, chest stomach all the way down to her toes. It has been going on for about 2 weeks. It seems to be getting worse. She has no health insurance and doesn't know if she should go to the doctor or where to go. She has a crown on the left side that she feels her heartbeat in. Could that cause all this? What could cause these symptoms.
2047903 tn?1330187549 It's not a side effect I experienced. I had drowsiness, nausea, blurry close-up vision, and low blood sodium levels. One thing I did notice was that my doctor didn't tell me about side effects until I would specifically ask about one. So you probably should let your doc know about the numbness or at least ask your pharmacist if it's a known side effect.
Avatar n tn It does not list any urinary side effects or muskuloskeletal side effects, but does say under patient teaching to have the patient tell the prescibing dr. "if low blood pressure, weakness, cramping, or palpitations worsen..." I'm guessing the cramping one because it lists as a rare side effect low blood potassium level. Are you monitoring her blood pressure at home? They list high blood pressure as a rare side effect.
