Avatar f tn It might be advisable for you to try to find other medications for your anxiety and your insomnia; several of the anti-anxiety and insomnia medications do make RLS worse, but others do not. Your episodes of waking up with several uncomfortable symptoms may be panic attacks, but there are several other possibilities. It sounds like you have several symptoms and problems related to sleep, and you might find benefit from evaluation at a Sleep Disorders Center.
867787 tn?1318936230 Hi Dr. Park, I'm going to see a neurologist soon as my family doctor strongly suspects that I have MS. My problem is that I'm having terrible bouts with insomnia. I take Requip & Zanaflex nightly but they don't seem to help. The meds do help with restless legs & muscle spasms but I was told that they would help me sleep also. I wore a moniter all night while I slept but my results were ok. I have tried ambien & over the counter sleep aids & nothing seems to work.
Avatar m tn As you already know, it usually takes several weeks of the really nasty symptoms of acute withdrawal, followed by several months of just insomnia and general weakness and depression. A physician may be able to prescribe you some Neurontin (gabapentin) for general malaise, anxiety and muscle cramps, Requip for the restless leg syndrome and possibly something like Seroquel low dose for the insomnia.
Avatar n tn You could ask your doc for Requip...it is used for restless leg syndrome. There are a few other meds that could possibly help...one of them being Neurontin. Talk to your doc about it....Other than that, I used a heating pad that wrapped around my legs for that wanting to move constantly feeling...it helped some...not alot, but some. Valium will not help for this.

Avatar n tn I suffer from restless leg syndrome, only it's not limited to just my legs; my entire body jerks and spasms at night when I'm trying to go to sleep. I already suffer from insomnia; now I have this to deal with. Please help; I keep my husband awake from the agony these twitches cause. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn It is going to take some time as I said to you before, to get over the weakness, listlessness, depression and insomnia. Ask you doctor for low dose Seroquel (25-50mg) at night for insomnia. That would be most helpful. Staying as busy and as physically active during the day is also very important.
Avatar m tn I am a 30 year old female, married with 4 kids. I have had so many health problems lately, and so many diagnosis, that I am starting to wonder if it is something else? I feel like there is no way I have all these things wrong with me! That and the treatments never seem to work. Here are my problems. Migraines-I get headaches almost on a daily basis. Half of the time they turn into full blown migraines. I am on a medicine to help prevent them, that seems to work only part of the time.

I understand my leg still shakes at night and i'm okay with that, but the constant shaking during the day...any one has any remendy for this? I've visited the RLS website and they don't say anything about daytime shakes...

It will make your withdrawals easier. Clonidine will help stabilize your blood pressure and help with the creepy-crawly feeling that you are having. Valerian and Magnesium is sometimes helpful remedies over the counter.

867787 tn?1318936230 I saw my PCP today & calmly confronted him on my lack of care. He ordered a MRI of my brain & cervical spine but have to check & see which hospitals offer financial aid programs & I'm also still hoping the MSAA comes through. He prescribed me Cymbalta & said it was good for nerve pain. I was wondering if any of you have tried this & if so did it help & are there any side effects I should be aware of?
