Avatar f tn No safety or efficacy data are available in patients with renal impairment who received VIREAD using these dosing guidelines, so the potential benefit of VIREAD therapy should be assessed against the potential risk of renal toxicity. VIREAD should be avoided with concurrent or recent use of a nephrotoxic agent.
Avatar f tn Could you please clarify your question? Did you undergo a renal angiogram that was performed via a catheter that was inserted into either the arm or groin?
Avatar m tn This is angiogram showing aorta, its branches and renal arteries and kidney outlines are seen. renal vessels provide blood supply to the kidneys.
Avatar m tn Hi, I was diagnosed with renal artery stenosis last june out of the blue when my bp went up at a routine dental appt. I had normal bp and other values just that prior january (ekg, stress echo, carotid doppler, 24 hr bp monitor, holter monitor, cholesterol was a bit high 245). I did not want to go on meds, so I begged for a renin-aldosterone test and the aldosterone was up, so they did a renal doppler which showed a blocked in the left renal artery that was very severe.

Avatar f tn 2.3 Dose Adjustment for Renal Impairment in Adults Significantly increased drug exposures occurred when VIREAD was administered to subjects with moderate to severe renal impairment [See Clinical Pharmacology (12.3)]. Therefore, the dosing interval of VIREAD tablets 300 mg should be adjusted in patients with baseline creatinine clearance below 50 mL/min using the recommendations in Table 3.
20089233 tn?1489927561 Hello all I am a 26 year old male on treatment for a Carcinoid Tumor. I was in the ER with blood in urine and vomitting on Friday. They did a renal ultrasounf which showed "Cortical thinning bilaterally with prominent echogenicity in the renal medulla bilaterally. This would suggest the possibility of early or developing medullary nephrocalcinosis. Clinical correlation is advised." Also my right kidney was apparently small at 8.6 cm long.
Avatar n tn For Stage 3 CKD, the aim is to reduce the risks of progressive renal disease such as cardiovascular events including proteinuria, hematuria of renal origin, declining GFR. Healthy diet and lifestyle, as well as long term monitoring of renal function is indicated . Immunization with influenza and pneumococcal as well as regular follow-up with your attending physician are recommended. Alternative techniques such as medication, yoga and other relaxation techniques may help.
Avatar n tn When the renal function is below the optimal level then dialysis is initiated. At the end stage of renal failure renal transplant from a competent donor would be the therapy of choice. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn By "AGE" I'm assuming you mean a persons age in years. I don't believe age has anything to do with Janumet's "effectiveness" but age has a larger role with renal function. To make it clear for other readers, Janumet is combination of two drugs; Sitagiptin and Metformin. This a brief from the Merck web site - makers of Janumet - Section 8.5 - Geriatric Use JANUMET.

Avatar n tn The Renal Scan test showed T/2 of 20 minutes for the right kidney and 50/50 split in renal function between the two kidneys. CT scan showed that I have one stone in the lower pole of the right kidney of approximately 20 mm.
Avatar n tn I am 32 years old and have been a Type I diabetic for 17 years. I have been in really tight control for the last 6 years or more with hemaglobin A1c's ranging from 5.8 to 6.5. I have recently been spilling microalbumin in my urine. At my last three endocrinologist appointments my microalbumin levels have been 70, 50, and 53, respectively. Avatar f tn We have a puppy diagnosed with early renal failure. He is currently on Hills LD diet. (KD isn't recommended for growing puppies; our vet asked Hills what we should feed and they said LD has reduced protein, easily digestible.) He likes this well enough to eat it, but not well enough to use for training treats. Do any of you know of small, chewy, low protein, low phosphorus treats? Thanks!

Avatar n tn The condition is of clinical importance when renal surgery is contemplated or during collection of renal or adrenal venous samples. The normal left renal vein passes anterior to the aorta, to enter the inferior vena cava. Sometimes the left renal vein is duplicated, with both an anterior and posterior component. This gives rise to the circumaortic renal vein. I hope this helps. Take care and regards.
