The one that goes the deepest into the skin. On Rebiject the settings are 1 - 3. I use 3.

thanks for making feel welcome x problem is that i really want to just trust in what my neuro is doing, i do feel taken very seriously by him and i also can tell that he does care about every single one of his patients including myself. he mentioned something about a new formulation of rebif, but not sure if that is likely to change the side effects. i guess i am already quite depressed again-suppose crying is a pretty good indication, as i'm otherwise not so prone to that.

When I was dx'ed last fall my neuro gave me info on 3 studies: Rebif New Formulation vs placebo; efficacy of combining Avonex and Copaxone; and a natural history study, as an adjunct to the Avonex/Copaxone study. I declined all of them as I live about 450 kms from the research facility and being in a study involves monthly follow ups. Winter was around the corner, I was overwhelmed by my dx, and did not want to make a commitment to be doing all that travel.

I have heard a lot of people complain about the new formulation of Oxycontin .It is called OP I think .Purdue made this new formulation to stop people from abusing it but I have heard a lot of CP patients complain that it doesn't work as good as the old formulation .There is a substance that turns to a gel to keep people from snorting it or shooting it up and that may be what is causing it to not dissolve correctly .That's my best guess about it though .I would talk to my Dr about this .

That ***** Jane!!! I totally agree and I also hate change. My rebif nurse keeps trying to make me switch to a new autoinjecter that retracts. I like what I have now thank you ! :) Call shared solutions, I'm sure they can send you something different :).

As you may know, I was diagnosed with MS in April and have been on Rebif. I have had 2 relapses while on it. The first one was just a week of muscle spasms. I am currently in the 2nd one now and it has been active since 8/11/10. I have 3 days of I.V Solumedrol the 1st of sept and have felt no relief. With this one I have been having some new things going on that do not seem to fit with MS, at least not anything I can find. So this is what I'm hoping you can help me with.

To get some answers so that i can start planning for a baby. My new neurologist was SOO much better than the old one. He had so much more knowledge and was worth every penny. He told me that Rebif only stays in the system for half an hour but the benefits from it last a month or more. He said i dont have to wean myself off and that i can stop taking it right away.

I think depression is a common sx of MS as it is but if this is new to you and coincides with the new medication then it is something you need to speak to your dr about, just in case. Cheers......

That is too bad - I was hoping after your long wait you would have good luck with the first one and being able to stick with it. It is in the back of my head that I heard a doctor put Avonex as the less potent of the interferons, but I may be wrong. If that is true, I think I would step up to Rebif. Did your doctor offer any ideas or can you schedule an appt with the MS nurses and discuss it further?

How can I tell if I have the "old" or the "new" formulation of Armour thyroid?

So the ins company wont pay for Copaxone or Gilynia until my daughter first tries Rebif (i guess because its cheaper for them.) I have a concern with her being on an interferon due to the possible mental health side effects. She is already on Lexapro for anxiety and mild depression. I dont want anything adding to the issue. We have dr app tomorrow to discuss Rebif but I dont want her on it. Anyone have bad side effects with Rebif??? Any advise for me?? Thank you.

Copaxone is the weakest and he did not recommend it for me. Betaseron, Rebif and Avonex are essentially the same drug, Intefereon beta, administered in different doses. My Neuro is a big believer in Neutralizing antibodies. Avonex NAB rate is around 5% Rebif around 10-15% Betaseron 25-30% NABs can bind to the active side of the interferon molecule rendering it useless. So naturally (if you believe in NABs) you would likely pick the one with the lowest NABs.

Are you happy with the new Armour formulation? I guess they changed their formulation or something along thos lines and thats why there is a shortage. A lot of us have switched to other natural brands such as Westhroid and Naturethroid.

Is there anyone using Rebif for MS? if so how are you getting on with this treament?

Hello. I have been on Rebif now for just over three years after nine and a half years taking Avonex. Have been very consistent in making sure to take my shots. Having a short term memory moment, realized the other day while taking my 2nd to last shot of my current distribution; This being true, tomorrow will be my last shot with a schedule to take the first of a new packet on Saturday, Dec 22nd. Many thanks if you can supply me with the appropriate phone number to order a next batch.

I have not been on Rebif, but I have read that you should wait at least 1 month preferrably 3. I would definetly wait the 3 months just to make sure.

But in case they don’t, you might investigate which of the other drug companies, if any, would approve you should you be forced to go off Rebif, so you could start a new med promptly. They may not answer too many questions until you actually have a prescription, but it might be worth investigating. Worth noting, today I looked on the Avonex website for something else, and I see they offer the first month for free to everybody. I missed Avonex for seven weeks in late 2011.
