Rebif hair loss

Common Questions and Answers about Rebif hair loss

rebif

1437229 tn?1296070020 One more thing: although hair loss is not super-common, it does appear in the fine print for Rebif as a reported side effect -- so probably same for Beta. My Rebif nurse said several of his patients had similar experiences.
1746440 tn?1311509508 t find much about this as a side effect on-line) or am I in that lucky 4% of Avonex users who have hair loss. If it is the Avonex, will it stop as my body gets used to the drug? Good God I hope so! Any insight is appreciated, as this is really stressing me out.....which can also cause hair loss!!!
Avatar f tn Rebif can cause hair loss -- it did for me, starting around 6-8 weeks after I started Rebif. Hair loss lasted about 3-4 months. Also: thyroid issues can cause hair loss -- and Rebif can affect thyroid function. So get your TSH, free T3 & T4 bloodwork done -- every few months while on Rebif. I take Zinc & biotin (as well as vit D & fish oil) to help with hair loss.
1936411 tn?1333831849 Thanks, Candy. I am NOT looking forward to hair loss (hope I'll be one of the lucky ones). Sorry to hear that you're deadling with the side effects. I've heard a lot of people swearing by Biotin to combat the hair loss, but I haven't done any research to see if there exists any unbiased substantiation of those claims. Have you tried anything to fight the hair loss, and if so, have you had any luck?
Avatar f tn Why would it suddenly cause malar rash, joint pain and swelling, extreme hair loss, anemia and chronic diarrhea, just to name a few. Has anyone heard of rebif causing lupus symptoms? I am still waiting for blood results from that appt. They took 8 large tubes of blood, so hopefully I will get those results soon. I'm just tired of feeling like crap and not being able to eat because everytime I eat solid food it goes right thru me.
649926 tn?1297657780 Hi! I am sorry for all of you that are also suffering hair loss. As if we don't have enough to deal with! My family thought that I was making a big deal out of nothing until I washed my hair and ran my hands through and came away with a full hand of hair. We are not talking your usual hair loss here!
Avatar f tn Hi, I was diagnosed 2 years ago in September. I have been taking Aubagio for almost 2 years. For about the first 6-8 months I had mild diahreha (sp?), and hair thinning. It all leveled out and my hair grew back! I don't have any side effects now and I'm glad I stuck with it. Good luck!
559187 tn?1330782856 I seem to be loosing a lot of hair, but I am on a lot of other things so who knows. I have had hair loss before. My hair got so thin that I cut it off. It has grown back and is pretty thick again, so hopefully this hair loss phase is temporary.
Avatar n tn It is impossible for me, or anyone, to tell whether or not you would have had your attack had rebif been started earlier. Rebif, and other injectable MS medications (the interferons), reduce risk of relapse significantly, but not by 100%, meaning that even if someone is on a medication, they could still have a relapse, but their relapse risk is just less on the interferons.
Avatar n tn He had a sore on his mouth, below his lip in the corner that was healing. He said he had an infected hair and that he had seen a doctor. I tasted his drink, so I drank after him. When we parted he gave me a "peck" on the lips. Now I have heard from others that he has herpes. I am on Rebif, an immune modifying drug. What are my risks?
198419 tn?1360242356 I chose to stop Copaxone due to significant hair loss. If it was the only choice I would have accepted the hair loss but thankfully there are many choices. I had a newer blood test for biomarkers and my Neuro said the betasaron should be effective for me. So I am currently giving it a second chance. If it does not work my next step is Gilenya. But it would be temporary, my Neuro does not like to keep her patients on it for more than a year.
Avatar f tn On rebif, I have had one outbreak,2 months after starting, dr said it wasnt a Rebif failure, could still be copaxon getting out and rebif starting. But I have things under controll now, am finding out the little other side affects that escort MS tho-have had extreme fatigue, now I think my bladder has been affected, I have to go all the time. At first I thought it was a female issue, talked to the gyno last time I was there, he felt my tummy and told me everything was fine.
Avatar f tn Low iron levels can cause hair loss. You might want to get that checked.

Avatar n tn I lost a ton my first pregnancy. I was taking OTC prenatals. This time around my doc recommended prescription prenatals and I haven't had any hair loss or breakage this time. And bonus, the prescription prenatals are free with Affordable Healthcare Act!
Avatar f tn Especially after combing my hair, there is a ton of hair in the sink. However my hair seems to be growing as fast as it falls out so I have thickness still. Someone told me to drink more milk and I find on the days that I do I see less shedding.
Avatar f tn It makes me depress everytime i see how plenty of hair i loss. I tried every hair fall shampoo but none of those worked. I don't wanna comb my hair anymore.

Avatar f tn I'm very early in my pregnancy and I've noticed some mild hair loss. I have a lot of hair so it's normal for me to shed but this is a lot more than usual. Anyone experience this during pregnancy? Or maybe its due to something else?
Avatar m tn I actually posted about this a month or so ago. I have hair loss that really started post Tx. My hair didn't grow hardly at all during Tx, than about 6 weeks post Tx it really started falling out, probably lost 50%. Everyone says it should grow back fine after 6 months post Tx. I figure it is the least of my worries. Looking for my SVR12 in 3 weeks. Hang in there.
