Avatar n tn Unfortunately, the long-acting bronchodilator has the potential to cause some of the symptoms you experienced due to the Pro-Air™ HFA (salbutamol sulphate) Inhalation Aerosol. This may require some patience on your part. Good luck Be sure that all doctors you see, as well as all family members, are aware of your severe reaction to the antibiotic so that you never again are given an antibiotic remotely related to the one that caused the reaction.
Avatar n tn Hi all, I am a 21 year old male living in Toronto, Ontario and do not smoke. I have severe allergies to most trees. For the past 6 years I have developed a chronic dry cough in the fall season until it snows in the winter. When I blow my nose, there is a sticky white mucus that comes out. I have been told by the allergist that this is asthma and allergies. I am taking 2 puffs of QVAR in the morning and night, half a tablet of reactine and singular at night, and Avamys in the morning.
Avatar f tn and my med is flovent hfa 250mcg (orange inhaler, 2 puffs twice a day), the other is [apo-salvent cfc free] salbutamol 100mcg (2 puffs/4 hours as needed. up to 4 times a day(.
Avatar m tn I am thinking of trying salbutamol and wondering whether anyone has any information, experiences or thoughts to share. Anything would be greatly appreciated. It is a horrible time I should add that I have been mildy anemic and am recovering. This has certainly exacerbated my breathing difficulties -- i.e. I have struggled to breath far more while anemic. However, I have good days and bad days and going by weather patterns, I'm fairly sure these are related to pollen allergy. Thank you.
Avatar m tn The normal spirometry values are FVC-80-120% and FEV-80-120%. Also, FEV1/FVC ratio, is a calculated ratio used in the diagnosis of obstructive and restrictive diseases. The report states there is small airway obstruction, which could be due to Asthma, hence you have been initiated on Ventolin. You may need a follow up spirometry, to see for changes in the lung function tests. You can also do steam inhalations prior to your meals. This helps to loosen up and bring out the secretions.
Avatar f tn 70% (Actual) 80% (Predicted) PEFR: 362 (Actual) 359 (Predicted) I suffer from asthma (have for many years but always controlled) and use a serotin 250mg inhaler twice a day and salbutamol when required, however I have had 3 nasty chest infections in the last 3 months and I am now feeling breathless (hence the spirometry tests) a lot of the time and have tightness in my chest (like my chest is in a vice).
Avatar f tn I was born with eczema and I started to have bronchospasm few years ago. The doc said it might be asthma and prescribed me with salbutamol. However, i found that I don't have the common syptoms as asthmatic people .e.g wheezing or coughing, and it doesn't disturb my sleeping as well. I just feel the bronchi contract and chest tightness which go away after few minutes later without taking the inhaler. I've taken the inhaler before but i found it no use, so i didn't use it anymore.
Avatar n tn Vital capacity was 104% of predicted whereas the ratio between FEV1 and FVC was 69. After 200mcg of Salbutamol inhaler his FEV1 improved by 270 ml indicating some reversibility so overall my clinical impression if that his cough could be secondary to hypersensitive airways plus/minus mild asthma.'' He was prescribed Symbicort Turbuhaler 200/6 one puff twice a day. This was back in September.

Avatar f tn I am hypothyroid. My daily dosage was decreased from 100mcg, a couple of months ago to 65 mcg, due to a lab test that read: hyper thyroid. I had an ultrsound which showed nodules -- low thyroid. Still I was kept on 65 mcg dosage... I then travelled to another country and wasn't feeling good. I went for a lab test and the results came back low thyroid which led the doctor to give me a higher dosage of 77mcg. I took this for a while yet still felt symtoms of low thyroid...
1344892 tn?1276541735 i did take my salbutamol reliever inhaler when this first happened but found it made me feel worse. i have not taken my reliever for 3 days now. please help me i am feeling really unwell. thank you.
920032 tn?1550680156 I don very well with the HFA versions. If you were on a dry powder, you might have been having problems with the milk by products in them keeping your peak flow down. My guess would be that your current phlegm problem is from the inflammation and asthma even though your peak flows are improving. If you aren't working with your dr to reduce your steroid use, you should really see your asthma doctor to make sure that your asthma is not flaring.
Avatar n tn You are correct in wanting to wait until you have achieved optimum benefit from the Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol, before any consideration of oxygen use. The Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol may raise your saturation, to a degree that will make oxygen use unnecessary.
