520191 tn?1355635402 Over a year ago i was given ranitidine for the treatment of GERD. I took my first dose and i started to feel nausea so i went to bed, during the night i started vomiting and not like any vomit i had ever experienced before. i thought nothing of it, until my heart began to race through out the night. the next morning i thought i might be allergic to one of my medication as i was prescribed 2 medication all at once.
Avatar f tn ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
Avatar f tn I have just been reading all the comments about itching and MS ( I was diagnosed in 2004) Had no idea that itching was a problem with MS. I have been itching intensly for about 5 days. But my itching is NOT localized as most of the comments suggest, but it is all over. Have also had raised red spots, but not until I start scratching. Like the scratching produces the red spots (what I think of as hives) Have been to the dr. twice. 1st time steriod shot. 2 days later not any better and dr.

Avatar n tn A few years ago my doctor put me on 75 mg Ranitidine to take twice a day before meals. A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.
Avatar m tn Back in April I noticed that the lower part of my buttocks and the inner thighs were itching. I developed red bumps that have remained there for now almost 4 months. The bumps are red and are rather large... they are raised from the skin, more like hives - they are not smooth and are rather bumpy. They itch specially at night. At times while I apply some cortisone paired up with antihistamines, they will calm down and go dormant... but only to come back again on the same spots.
Avatar f tn my 3 year old daughter has been vomiting and diahorria for 3 weeks now only at night from around 11.30pm onwards, doctors have ruled out a virus and have given her ranitidine as they think it could be reflux in liquid form to be given x2 am and pm and this has still not worked, I am really worried and would love some help, she is fine during the day apart from diahorria she gets that during the night and in the mornings. Any advice or help would be much appreciated.
Avatar f tn Some studies have linked EBV with Hashimoto's, but there's nothing conclusive. Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Choices for a generic over the counter antacid just got smaller as the drug maker of generic ranitidine under the brand name of Zantac has pulled distribution of the medication world wide. Last week the FDA stated they found cancer causing chemicals in some samples taken from batches of generic rantitidine or Zantac. https://www.fda.
2006603 tn?1331329327 Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
Avatar m tn In order to treat Acid Reflux/GERD I have been taking Ranitidine/Zantac per doctors advice. I started developing various side effects several months ago. To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so.
Avatar n tn You may want to talk to her doctor about supplementing the Allegra with benadryl when she starts itching. Liquid benadryl takes effect very quickly and greatly reduces my itching when I have it. It may be time for an allergist if she isn't already seeing one, or a second opinion allergist if you are. Check out the physician look up page of www.aaaai.org for a board certified allergist in your area.
Avatar f tn Zantac or the generic ranitidine, my Dr gave me the ok on Monday because everything I eat gives me bad heartburn
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for responding. Yes I do take suppressive therapy, but at times I do forget to take the pills which I know is a problem. I have some hormonal issues when I have my monthly period as well, which I know contributes to the EM. I went to the doctor today and had a well woman check up and they suggested I also go to a dermatologist. They gave me a script for Valtrex, not the generic form, to see if that may make a difference. I certainly hope so.

Avatar m tn ve never been officially diagnosed, just something my GP thought might be bothering me and prescribed me ranitidine... long story short, the ranitidine worked fine (150 mg/2x a day) and I was symptom free within 24 hours. Flash forward to 5 weeks ago, I thought I was developing a bit of a chest cold with some chest tightness. Figured the cough would come along later... funny thing, it never came.
Avatar f tn My consultant has taken me off omeprazole and replaced it with ranitidine due to the fact that my magnesium is low, and is making my calcium low too. Has anyone else had experience of this change, and if so, how has your body reacted to it.
Avatar n tn If i sit on a hard surface for long I get hard raised lumps on my buttocks, my hands will swell when i carry heavy bags or use a paintbrush but the worst thing is my feet! The intense itching on the soles is unbearable! Then they will swell to twice the size and go red, hot and painful so i can't walk. When i have a bad flare-up i feel generally unwell and tired with stiff achy joints that you could liken to arthritis but 24 hours later everything is normal again....until the next time.
Avatar m tn gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-updates-and-press-announcements-ndma-zantac-ranitidine and here is the info on safety. https://www.fda.gov/safety/medical-product-safety-information/zantac-ranitidine-safety-information-ndma-found-samples-some-ranitidine-medicines. They didn't tell people to stop taking it at that time. I would personally not worry about taking it previously. Hope that helps.
531005 tn?1286515532 The doctors prescribed me some Ranitidine 300MG Tablets on the suspicion I may have either an ulcer or GERD. Does this medicine have the ability to cure either GERD or an Ulcer? If so, in about how much time?
Avatar n tn You might want to talk to your doctor about trying to eliminate different foods from your diet to see if that helps.
Avatar f tn Gaviscon or prescribed ranitidine have been my saviours this last trimester. Was 100 percent against any medication before trying ranitidine. Sickness and heartburn gone!
