ranitidine during pregnancy

rantindine is safe during pregnancy, i have been on it with this one and with my son, dont know about the others but rantindine is basicly generic zantac and is safe=)

Ranitidine is just the generic form of Zantac and I am on the same thing, also 150mg, and it is considered safe during pregnancy. I believe my doctor said it was like a Class B (for pregnancy) which is one of the safer things to use, anything below Class A or B is considered a little less safe, if I understood him correctly lol. Hope it helps you, I know it's helped me with my acid reflux.

Well I was on omeprazol and my OB took me off because it wasn't super safe and tested during pregnancy! But the doctor that confirmed my pregnancy told me it was fine. I think that there are some medications that are on the edge (like zofran) and had many different opinions. I always choose the natural route during my pregnancy though and I've suffered with GERD or acid reflux my entire life!

I was in dier need of something last night during my night shift so my sister brought me ranitidine,omg it was a life saver! My new best friend!!! I will be sure to take one a day at least!

I took it with my first pregnancy, but it was a lot later in the pregnancy. I am dying here, and need a fix.

Over a year ago i was given ranitidine for the treatment of GERD. I took my first dose and i started to feel nausea so i went to bed, during the night i started vomiting and not like any vomit i had ever experienced before. i thought nothing of it, until my heart began to race through out the night. the next morning i thought i might be allergic to one of my medication as i was prescribed 2 medication all at once.

I've been having morning sickness from the beginning of this pregnancy . I've tried Diclegis, Zofran & now promethazine but nothing seems to help . I'm exhausted & always dehydrated I feel like I'm being controlled by it . I know its a normal part of pregnancy but I'm so ready for it to end . anyone else?

I take mylanta notnsure if you have that in US and doc prescribed ranitidine 150mg twice a day safe during pregnancy. I was told by doc nexium isnt safe during pregnancy can cause birth defects and premature labor.

Changed my diet and included good amount of vegetables. Since 2008, I moved from Nexium to Ranitidine. Also, from 2010, I take Ranitidine as needed instead of taking them every morning an hour after my Thyroid medicine. I have been doing pretty good since then. I jus wanna swallow 80 ice cubes nd keep them there for the rest of my pregnancy. Before I got pregnant I had never had it nd always thought ppl were over exaggerating but holy this aint no joke. Five weeks ago, I had a bad case of the stomach flu. During really hard vomiting, I felt like a lump was in my chest. Afterwards, I started having bad relux and shortness of breath. A week later, I was in the emergency because I couldn't take deep breaths. After numerous tests including blood work, ekg, chest X-rays and urine tests, they determined I had a bad UTI. All my other tests came back normal.

ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?

They were working quite well until I had to change to Ranitidine. During the last week since the change, the gerd has been far worse, and I have been sleeping with 3 pillows, which has not really helped very much. I managed to contact my consultant yesterday, and he suggested that I have a blood test early next week to see if the change of med has helped with my magnesium and calcium, and then go back on to ompeprazole in the hope that the gerd will improve.

Had IV fluids for a day and Cyclizine injections to stop sickness, plus Ranitidine antacids which made a huge difference for me. Will be on Cyclizine + Ranitidine oral tablets for the rest of my pregnancy, am 18+2 and looking forward to being able to enjoy it at last!

I was on omneprezerol before pregnancy, doctor said to only take if absolutely necessary. I read aboyt papaya during my first pregnancy and it was AMAZING! I am now 36 wks in my third pregnancy and gave been heartburn free as long as i eat a small bowl each night.

Has anyone taken zantac during pregnancy for heartburn? I'm 22+5 and have heartburn almost every other day. Sometimes it's so bad that I just want to sleep so i don't feel it.

This problem accentuates during night time,during digestion time( two to three hrs after meals ) also triggers when exposed to smoke/dust/paint smells/incense sticks. I got CT SCAN done for chest/nose and found no adverse observations.Also blood test done for eisnophelia and found ok.Chest x rays done 3 -4 times and no abnormality observed. I USED seretide acuhaler and asthaline nebulizer throught the year with no significant relief.

A few years ago my doctor put me on 75 mg Ranitidine to take twice a day before meals. A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.

Along with avoidance of the allergy medications like anti histamines, you also need to discontinue gastric acid inhibiting drugs like ranitidine. I suggest you to consult allergy specialist and follow the given instructions. Take care and regards.

Gaviscon is safe during pregnancy. If this doesn't work your GP can prescribe Ranitidine or Omeprazole. Had it for nearly a month before asking for help...why suffer?...anyway, it all works.
