Avatar f tn Some studies have linked EBV with Hashimoto's, but there's nothing conclusive. Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
Avatar m tn In order to treat Acid Reflux/GERD I have been taking Ranitidine/Zantac per doctors advice. I started developing various side effects several months ago. To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so.

Avatar f tn I am a 22 year old female college student. For the past six months I have been feeling sick to my stomach. At the beginning it happened everytime I would eat something so I began to lose weight. I would only take a few bites and immediately feel sick. I used to eat tums all the time whenever this feeling would occur and drink water because they felt like the only things that work from making me feel like I wouldn't throw up.
Avatar n tn I am taking the drug to reduce the acid effect to the stomach lining which has been a concern lately. I am certain that the missing heart beats are caused by the drug but the doctors are reluctant to accept it. I am not sure if I could replace Ranitidine with another drug to do the same job.
Avatar n tn Have a sensitive stomach and get burning pains especially if food has chilly or is strong in acid. Ranitidine has helped but from time to time suffer missing hearbeats. Having given up the drug for a while things improved but stomach started to suffer again and thus the reason to re-start the drug.
Avatar f tn Pepcid AC is JUST an acid reducer....Pepcid Complete is an Acid reducer PLUS an Anti-Acid (Like a Rolaid or Tums).....Though they both will work, the COMPLETE is not prescribed long term because of the Anti-acid which is basically Calcium.....Something like 800 mg., which is way too high for a dog IF you are feeding a complete diet.....Too much Calcium is dangerous long term.....Hope that helps.....
Avatar f tn u can take sum acid reducer I buy Walmart brand acid reducer, its safe during pregnancy. I have this all the time and its the only thing that helps.
Avatar m tn It is not a good idea to take both drugs together. They both act towards the same purpose - reduction of stomach acid. Some acid is necessary for digestion of food.
963268 tn?1312900315 It appears from your description of your stomach condition, that a biopsy of your stomach lining was analyzed by a Pathologist and declared negative for Heliocbacter pylori. Were you given an acid reducer to calm your stomach lining?. I had an ulcer caused by H. pylori, and I used an antibiotic three times a day for 10 days. I also took an acid reducer once a day that healed by stomach lining. Today, I take one Prilosec, 20-mg, and I have no pain.
Avatar f tn ve had it since about 15 weeks and am 27 weeks now, I take ranitidine tablets plus try to eat little and often, glass of milk helps and not lying flat too
1453826 tn?1285180618 When I was diagnosed with Helicobacter pylori, I was prescribed one antibiotic and one acid reducer a day for two weeks. My ulcer healed in about 10 days. The antibiotic killed the bacteria that causes H. pylori, but I had to continue with a daily acid reducer. Today, I use Prilosec, 20-mg, and I have no pain. Acid reducers in OTC- form are available everywhere. Antibiotics kill microorganisms, but they also kill the good bacteria that watches over our gut.
Avatar f tn I had awful morning sickness at the beginning of my pregnancy and absolutely none of thr food remedies like saltines or 7 up helped but you may try taking an acid reducer such as pepcid....
Avatar f tn Ive had the problem since my first trimester and I'm 36 weeks on wednesday. I started taking an acid reducer because nothing else was working. I was getting acid reflux and heart burn every day all day. Was taking tums but they quit working. Essential oils didn't help. Natural remedies didn't help either. So now I just take the acid reducer pill and I'm good in like 5 minutes after I take it!
Avatar n tn I am 7 months pregnant and just today I started having a ton of acid reflex.. I can't stand it. Is there anything you can do to lessen this symptom or ease it?
Avatar f tn How old is your pillow? What's it made of? Pillows get old, and collect a lot of dust mites, so maybe it's just time for a new one. Get one that's hypoallergenic. Also, you're 21 - how dusty is your room? My room at 21 wasn't that clean. ;) You might also get some allergy testing done. Are you eating or drinking anything right before bed? You might also be experiencing acid reflux. Try taking an acid reducer before bed and see if that helps.
2006603 tn?1331329327 Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
Avatar m tn Hello There, I have been an Hypo Thyroid (Hashimoto) patient since 2000. Between 2002 & 2005 , I had severe chest pain and was rush to emergency. Nothing could be identified. I had similar chest pains and was rushed 8-11 times over the course of 3 years. During this time, my Gall Bladder was removed (Dr felt it was my .02mm Gall Stone causing the pain). I was rushed even after GB removal. Finally it was connected to Severe Acid Reflux.
Avatar f tn Try sum acid reducer pills, nothing worked for me except the Walmart brand acid reducer its just cheap zantac.
Avatar m tn ve never been officially diagnosed, just something my GP thought might be bothering me and prescribed me ranitidine... long story short, the ranitidine worked fine (150 mg/2x a day) and I was symptom free within 24 hours. Flash forward to 5 weeks ago, I thought I was developing a bit of a chest cold with some chest tightness. Figured the cough would come along later... funny thing, it never came.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much
Avatar f tn What do you ladies take for acid reflux? I'm 31 weeks and a few days and the past three weeks I've been waking up from a dead sleep vomiting from acid reflux. It gets up into my nose. The lining of my throat is burning. I have a cold right now too and asthma so vomiting and coughing is literally killing my throat. I just woke up from sleeping and threw up so badly I peed my pants. I'm so over this. I cant have Zantac because I'm super allergic.
