Zolpidem (Ambien) and eszopiclone (Lunesta) have been shown to reduce the time until sleep occurs and increase total sleep time. The sleep induced by them resembles natural sleep. Avatar n tn Specifically, the delayed sleep phase syndrome. He prescribed Ramelteon to help her fall asleep at night. So far, the sleeping pill seems to work but in a subtle way. If she does not prep herself for sleep, sleep will not come. It has gotten so bad that she cannot remember the last time she slept and felt rested. There is a bit more to it then just a sleeping problem. I am not sure if this is related to it but she has laps of time where she can't remember specifically what she did.
Avatar m tn Don't know what you're working on. Time release is slow release. When I managed health food stores the saying about time release was, expensive urine or bowel movements, since the body evacuates before the stuff comes out of the capsule.
603015 tn?1329862973 I had my seroquel during the day upped, and then switched over to the extended release which will work all day. I also had my lamactil upped as well, 5//7 nights it works well. I take ativan if I need it, but take Trazadone for sleep every night, it's not a tranq. like the other meds. If I've been sleepy without the Trazadone, I just don't take it, and haven't seen any adverse affects regarding this. You might want to talk to your pdoc about a sleep med switch.
Avatar m tn In regards to California trying to lighten their financial load, they are willing to release inmates.... to save money? Go one step back. Quit prosecuting for petty crimes. If someone is worth incarcerating, keep them in jail and look to make cuts elsewhere. (I don't know... start with some of your welfare policies....
Avatar f tn Thank you for your response and opinion. I am still strongly leaning towards surgery. After months of trying conventional treatments I am to the point of pure frustration. The pain I have had now for almost 2 1/2 months has to go away. I am a retired (young) Hair Stylist and now a p/t Special Dietary Chef, not working now of course. All the same I depend greatly on my hands. The cortizone injections I researched are about 50% successful, painful and basically hit and miss.

Avatar f tn I am experiencing involuntary gas release. I will feel little gas bubbles in my anus and they release themselves and I have no waring or control over them. I lost my job because of this. I can’t go to any restaurant or social gathering. I live secluded. This has officially ruined my life. I’m a single mother with two children. It has become very difficult to make a living to support my family. Life has become such a task.

Avatar m tn Not sure of your exact question here, but Effexor XR is an "extended release" formula, which means a slower, more gradual release over a longer period of time versus a faster acting formula. It generally takes about 3 days to reach a steady state in your system, and can take up to a month to fully assess its effectiveness. Hope that helped a bit...if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!
