the reason why i did not take one more pill is that i believed cumulative plasma levels of raltegravir at day 22 May still exists in the circulation and thus i continued my regular dose just not to take second time double dose for raltegravir in case of i drank it through water. However i really do not remember and i also did not see any pills around.

combining emtricitabine and tenofovir from the NRTI class, and raltegravir, from the integrase inhibitor class. There ARE alternative drugs available and possibly in Thailand they use lamivudine in place of raltegravir. I am definitely NOT a chemist, so I can't tell you for sure if the combination you're taking is appropriate. You should discuss your concerns with the doctor who prescribed PEP or a pharmacist/chemist. I wish you the best.

I know odds are 0.3% but that doesnt settle my fears, i am young and want to live a happy healthy life with KIDS! I am relatively sure it did not break, but I cannot be 100% certain. Since then, he and I had talked (exchanged numbers), and he assured me he was HIV negative and had not had a partner since a negative test a few months prior. Due to my guilt and anxiety, I searched for PEP in Europe, which was IMPOSSIBLE. I eventually was able to obtain Truvada, which I started about 55hr after "exposure". I plan to take for the full 28 days.
I asked the CSW if she knew her status and she said she was negative (I know that doesn’t mean anything and is almost discomforting because if she is she is most likely not on ARVs). Anyways I rushed to the hospital and was put on PEP at a maximum of 3 hours post exposure (truvada and raltegravir). I have taken the pills without missing any doses. At 3 weeks post exposure the lymph nodes in my neck swelled up slightly and I felt a tiny bit feverish.
I am currently taking truvada and isentress (raltegravir) is this enough I couldn't get my prescription for dolutegravir filled...is this pep enough?

I actually went to the clinic, got PEP (truvada 200mg and Raltegravir 400mg), also done hiv prick test which was negative. Dr was helpful and explained everything for me. He also said best thing is as u guys suggest, ask him test but also if he is clear 6 weeks back also, but that also depends on trust.

I had sex in a night club with a guy I don't know. I was very drunk and I'm not sure if we used condom or not - I've been trying to remember that moment, but it's quite impossible to trust my mind after many days. I am taking Truvada and Raltegravir. Yesterday, (3 days after exposure and 2 days on PEP) I had protected sex with a female partner (I, the insertive male) and when I ejaculated I am afraid some spilled off the base of the condom.
If I began PEP 24 hours after possible exposure and had protected sex with someone else on Day 2 of PEP, could I have biologically put them at risk for HIV if by any chance the ejaculate spilled off the condom?

A 12 years old girl had a blood transfusion with hiv blood, she took PEP( tenofovir, emtricitabine, ritonavir-boosted darunavir (subsequently changed to lopinavir) and raltegravir) after 24 hours and had these PEP for three months. This girl also has cssr5 dna which is a dna that hard to infect hiv.

I'm now on week 22 of my pegasys/riba therapy and been taking suboxone ever since and never had any problems.
I presume you had anal sex, because oral is not a risk.
HIV is only diagnosed from a test so all your details and questions have no answers.
Since you have passed 28 days, you can just take a 4th gen test for a conclusive result and all the details you mention which are just question marks will become irrelevant.
Last night, I had unprotected anal sex with a transvestite sex work. I know, bad move on my part. I was on top and inside of him for only a few minutes at most. One question: How risky is this? He said he's clean, but I don't know whether to believe that. If he is HIV positive, how possible is it I contracted HIV? I rushed to the ER this morning to get PEP, but is it even necessary? And what happens if I did contract HIV and the PEP doesn't work.

Your pains have nothing to do with a STD, sounds like it is all in your head. You had a very low risk from the oral that you gave, no real reason to test.
Grace -- Thanks for your update. As you -- and I know -- more people suffer neurological symptoms assoc. with herpes than is realized, mostly b/c either the patient or medical provider forgets the association between the two.
However, you are right in that the problems usually go away with the outbreak -- which I have experienced myself. For me, some outbreaks take a while to reveal, meaning the pain associated with it is prolonged.

genital herpes won't be transmitted through kissing someone, only oral herpes can be.
herpes can survive for hours outside the body, that said, just coming into contact with the virus without good heat and friction, isn't going to transmit the virus.
beer pong isn't a risk for transmitting your herpes.
most people who have herpes, don't get obvious symptoms and have no idea that they are infected with it unless tested. 1 out of every 2-3 has hsv1 and 1 out of every 4-5 has hsv2.

it's not the fluids that is the risk as much as the sex act itself - whether it's oral sex or genital sex.
Is your bf on daily suppressive therapy?
