1052851 tn?1307741160 I tried taking Zeldox, as I gained a lot of weight from the Quetiapine, but the Dr. made it an add on and kept me on the Quetiapine as well. I had very bad side effects, and got off the Zeldox immediately. I told my doctor about it, and she changed the Zeldox, which was 80mg daily to Abilify, which I take 10mg in the morning and 10mg at noon. Will this add on assist with the weight gain? How does Abilify affect the Quetiapine?
Avatar m tn I had an ECG a while ago which was normal. Also I have lost a bit of weight recently and can now feel my pulse in my abdomen just below the ribcage. I am 29, am taking quetiapine as without I don't sleep at all and weigh around 90kg. Just wondering if I should do anything about this?
Avatar n tn Will I lose the weight I have put on whilst on citalopram and quetiapine once I stop taking these medicines?

Avatar f tn Hi! I'm just trying to do some research for my friend ... She's been on Quetiapine (an atypical antipsychotic) for about 2yrs, but previous to this she was diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism. Suddenly, she has fallen really ill and blood tests have confirmed minor hypothyroidism (T3 levels around 9)... but the symptoms look like hyper!
373367 tn?1246402035 He calls this molecular mimicry and says that this happens to people predisposed to having MS. I knew that the body attacked itself, but didn't reallize it was because it saw the myelin as a section of a bacteria/virus. I know a lot of you have had EBV and might find this interesting. OR, maybe I was the only one who hadn't put it all together--lol!
Avatar m tn I'm in the Uk and currently taking Quetiapine, Depakote and Lamotrigine. The Quetiapine for me was prescribed for rage and agitation, I don't feel any anti depressant properties from it, but it has saved my life. Lamotrigine was prescribed 7 weeks ago and I feel a lot better, I am doing things that I didn't think I'd ever feel I could do again. Nobody has ever specified what type of Bp I have, I have symptoms from across the spectrum, I have mixed episodes.
Avatar n tn ve been put in in-patient care twice (for a total of 12 months), Intensive care once, and hospitalized countless times, all for suicide attempts, strange behaviour and self-harm. I was put on quetiapine, which sort of helped, it toned things down a little and helped me sleep, but didn't do much. I discharged myself from the first hospital since I wasn't sectioned, but overdosed on on 42 of my quetiapine three weeks later.
1687493 tn?1305600366 You could try Quetiapine (anti-psyc), which I am on, it really didnt effect my sex drive, however I gained over 30lbs on this, but I am pretty inactive, plus I also am on anti-depressants (Prozac), and that in itself affects weight gain and lower sex drive, so I would say that if you take any anti-depressants you will gain some weight, and your lower sex drive - however, there is a large weight gain with the anti-psyc. Im on...
Avatar m tn The two meds that sorted my ultradian cycling with mixed states were olanzapine ( weight side effect though) and lamotragine which was a shame because I got the dreaded rash. quitiepine stopped me in my tracks litterally I was like a zombie, not sure if this helps but really a pdoc would be better than a gp?
Avatar n tn I had my 2nd FNA two weeks ago after my first one came back with hurthle cells and suspicious.  They sent my 2nd biopsy for molecular testing and my results came back as suspicious again. So I'm meeting with an endo surgeon next week. If both biopsies were suspicious AND the molecular testing was suspicious I'm assuming it means if my nodule isn't cancer now that it will be in the future. Is this a correct assessment?
301640 tn?1302652334 Some anti-anxiety and/or anti-depressants cause weight gain. A frequent side effect of quetiapine is weight gain. You might talk to your doctor and see if there is a medication that could give the same results without the side effect.
644988 tn?1236364548 Update. Hi. My dissociative moments have receded and I've ha a week or so of being in agood mood and really productive; more so than for over a year. I increased my bedtime dose of quetiapine but found I was feeling "wired" with irritability and anger in the afternoons/evenings. My sleeps are short (five to six hours at the moment despite the increased quetiapine). In view of this, I've re-added a morning dose of quetiapine and now things seem better..
