seroquel

1255936 tn?1296623461 I have a history of severe depressive episodes and have been on Effexor for yrs (300mg/day). The depression has been held back relatively well but the GAD and some symptoms of depression are creeping in. My question is that my Doc is a GP (not psychDoc). Yes I know I need to maybe start seeing a good Psychiatrist to get to the bottom of my Anxiety and Depression. Doc suggested Seroquel and starting on a very low dose...to aid with my Effexor. My problem is that the Anxiety is bad...
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm on quetiapine for major depression. It was added in by my p.doc ontop of first antidepressant (citalopram) which was at 60mgs daily and diazepam/temazepam. I was overwhelmed by panic and paralised by the whole depression thing. The first couple of days on (I think) 25mgs twice daily, I was completely zonked (but very calm!) after two days the tranquilised feeling left, but my sleep was restored for the first time in months and the days were better too.
Avatar f tn Hi! I'm just trying to do some research for my friend ... She's been on Quetiapine (an atypical antipsychotic) for about 2yrs, but previous to this she was diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism. Suddenly, she has fallen really ill and blood tests have confirmed minor hypothyroidism (T3 levels around 9)... but the symptoms look like hyper!
9266905 tn?1402808881 Hi! I hope you are feeling better! I have so many questions myself and just started a small dose of Zoloft Being on it before I do know it took like two weeks to start really working. I also know that when you increase, it should be in smaller increments. I'm not a doctor but why would he have you double your dose? Yikes? Some of the side effects can cause you more worry! Believe me..... I think I have every deadly thing going on in my body right now.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have had depression for over 20 years too. At the moment I am a bit low. I have taken anti-depressants for all those years, but sometimes I have stopped them. The longest I went without depression was a year. But it came back very bad. I have always avoided sleeping tablets, and take herbal sleep aid if insomnia gets too bad. i can understand why you don't want to see doctor again. How about you try slowly weaning yourself off the sleeping pills.
534105 tn?1226157177 In my opinion it’s not only unwise in respects to your process of overcoming your illness, but very dangerous with the withdrawal symptoms it can give. I am being treated for several illnesses, Quetiapine prescribed for major depressive disorder, and despite being very healthy and happy for almost a year and a half, those withdrawal symptoms were bad enough that within days of running out I was totally ready to die again.
644988 tn?1236364548 Update. Hi. My dissociative moments have receded and I've ha a week or so of being in agood mood and really productive; more so than for over a year. I increased my bedtime dose of quetiapine but found I was feeling "wired" with irritability and anger in the afternoons/evenings. My sleeps are short (five to six hours at the moment despite the increased quetiapine). In view of this, I've re-added a morning dose of quetiapine and now things seem better..
Avatar f tn -)hi,yeah doc has put me on new meds quetiapine 50mg for now,but just new to them hair loss weight loss been happening for lot years now, doctor says all stress,i think so to maybe :-(
Avatar m tn I was prescribed tramadol for pain do to an injury and I take citalopram and quetiapine for depression. I also have emphysema and use advair.
766412 tn?1234893283 When I was taking seroquel, (quetiapine), I found it to be a really stabilising drug, I didn't have any real extremes of mood, and weirdly, never cried. My only problems were that I got very tired at times, and often got cramps in my legs, but after awhile taking it those things became less harsh. Good luck with it.
1052851 tn?1307741160 I am searching for something where the weight gain is minimal but offers the benefits I get from Quetiapine, but I am now nervous to try anything that may have this mystery ingrediant in it that Zeldox has. Can you tell me what is in Zeldox that is not in Quetiapine, and if there are any other meds I could try that wouldnt cause these side effects but also not make me gain such a massive amount of weight?
Avatar f tn Hi, I've had severe depression for about 8months now and have been on medication and counselling etc, and i thought things were getting better as i seemed to get these happy episodes, but now theyve become severe episodes where i feel such overwhelming excitment and happiness.... all i want to do is jump up and down and scream and sing and talk to anyone who is there, and if no one is there i will talk to myself.
534105 tn?1226157177 This is a drug intended for a limited purpose that was marketed illegally for all kinds of things, mostly for sleep because an unwanted side effect of it is a lot of sedation. You'd probably find quantitatively more problems quitting clonazepam, as it's one of the hardest of brain drugs to stop taking.
Avatar f tn Different AAPs work differently for each individual. If Seroquel is not working for you, you should discuss it with your pdoc and either change the dosage of the drug itself. There are quite a few other AAPs, and a few act as mood stabilizers as well. Overdose on ACs??? ACs work very differently than AAPs. I don't know your complete diagnosis, nor am I qualified to prescribe your medications. These decisions are between you and your doctor.
Avatar n tn My daughter suddenly died at 44 and had been treated for 10 years for thyroid problems. Her autopsy took 4 months with a histology report. People tell me this can't be true and her doctor told me it was a lie. I believe the autopsy but no one believes me. Can this happen?
1052851 tn?1307741160 Now I am back on Quetiapine and searching for another med. that does not make you so hyperactive as the Zeldox did or a med. that doesnt make you tired and gain weight as the Quetiapine does. I know there are a lot of new meds. coming out, does anyone have any suggestions as to an alternative med. that provides the benefits of Quetiapine without the massive weight gain?
Avatar f tn I have been taking Seroquel (quetiapine) for about four months and I haven't had but a few breakthroughs of mania or depression in a few months. Plus the added benefit of knocking me clean out when I go to bed. The only thing that I don't like about it and this is something to look at if you start experiencing this, is it gives me very vivid nightmare.
Avatar m tn It's really hard to say for sure as I'm sure you probably know meds work differently for each person and you only can find out by trying them.
644988 tn?1236364548 I know that from what I was informed by my psychiatrist (that would be reflected by the information on the medication website) a working dose of Lamictal is 150 mg. and it has to be titrated at a 25 mg. a week dose. I only found it effective at that dose as well and it took a higher dose than that to work in full.
Avatar f tn last year the baby i was 33wks preg with was stillborn, i called him marcus after that i fell into deep depression understanably i think, then was diagnosed with bpd, and put on quetiapine and sertraline, i have been trying to get preg since sept 2010 but nothing has happened, when i got preg with marcus it only took 2 months and i wasn't on any drugs of any kind, now i'm wondering if the drugs i am on now are affecting my fertility?
Avatar n tn I am currently on 150 mg. of Effexor. I am finding that I have a craving for carbohydrates. Then I over eat and have put on 25 pounds. I have heard that there may be other antidepressants that are better for one if one doesn't want to put on weight. Is this true?
603015 tn?1329862973 I have just been diagnosed with Bipolar and am now waiting to see a pdoc for further evaluation. I became and still am manic apparently from the antidepressent I took 3 weeks ago for depression, I flipped completley from an extremley long depression to positively fantastic in 4 days.
