milk

689528 tn?1364135841 I had the same problem! And to anyone who's babies are spitting up breast milk and not formula- don't give up breast milk completely! My son is doing this also and from what I've read its because breast milk is thinner and easier to spit up than formula. Basically I decided instead of completely throwing in the towel and quitting breast milk altogether, I'm just pumping 3 times a day now and feeding him breast milk 3 times.
561093 tn?1237429410 So when we got out of the hospital we stopped by CVS and got an Evenflo breast pump. I decided I would just pump instead of breastfeeding. This way I knew how much milk he was getting and could get his weight up. At first it was going really well! My milk all came in and I was pumping 4-5 oz each time I pumped. I mean my breasts were very full. It lasted about 5 days and now the last 2 days I have barely gotten 2-3 oz. and sometimes even less than that.My breast are very soft and "Squishy.

Avatar f tn If you are going to do breast and bottles I recommend pumping and giving breast milk in the bottles because if you start skipping feedings so baby can have a bottle it can cause your milk production to decrease.
Avatar f tn I stop breastfeeding her but I do pump on low level. I would love to just feed her instead of pump as pumping will end up drying my milk :( Thanks for ur help!!
7656727 tn?1404157447 t want to introduce paci/bottles until 4-6 weeks old. Baby can have nipple confusion. I plan on pumping and freezing to have milk on hand for when I am gone and daddy is home. Or if we have a sitter. Frozen milk is okay for 6 months. And if you pump and put it in your fridge its 24 hours.
Avatar f tn t pump as often as I should have and now my milk is really low, I am breastfeeding instead of pumping so much and I have been taking the fenugreek and its finally starting to work I just got 3 and a half oz and that's the most I got these past couple days :)
Avatar f tn t done, but I guess if your uncomfortable you could pump and put it in a bottle. Breast milk is breast milk regardless of the way they drink it. Make sure when you have baby you pump out that colostrum though cause that's the best part for them.
Avatar f tn What are you takes on bottle feeding or breatsfeeding? Does anyone know how to get their breast pump covered instead of out of pocket since finances can be tight?!
10720243 tn?1415582269 In the beginning i noticed i had so much milk but then it starts regulating to your babys need as he or she breast feed. But since your pumping it slowed down.
Avatar f tn Yeah depending on what you eat and everything can change the color but most dont notice because of breastfeeding and not pumping. Also there is a difference in milk (foremilk and hind milk). The foremilk is kind of like getting a drink and the hind milk is all the fatty stuff to fill the baby up so you need to make sure you pump long enough to get both kind (you should feel a let down kind of feels like pins and needles mine did).
7845638 tn?1395841467 I didnt have any milk. I was even told to pump and it will help. But after a weel of trying i gave up. My daugther was the formula fed tho.
Avatar f tn No problem :) I always had a small stock just in case and instead of tossing it (pumping is hard work and ***** to see it go down the drain or in the trash) there are places you can always donate or to other ladies. Just something to think about if your interested.
Avatar f tn im so disappointed that i have to go back to pumping instead of breast feeding :( my little guy is just so much more unsettled on the breast than the bottle!
Avatar f tn I was told to start pumping to help my milk supply come in and I guess I over did it and now I have an over supply idk how to slow it down anyone know?
Avatar f tn Pumping doesn't stimulate milk production like natural breastfeeding does. Try hand stimylating with pumping every hour, using warm rags around your breast to make the let down reflex easier, and eating certain foods and even some teas can help the body produce milk.
4437866 tn?1388119624  Everytime you use a pacifier instead of breastfeeding, is one less time your breasts are stimulated to make milk.  Pacifiers should only be used when you are apart.  When you are together, pay attention to your baby and breastfeed! Return of your period – If you have started menstruating again, the hormones can cause a lowered milk supply in the week leading up to your period.

Avatar n tn I exclusively pump and feed because my baby wouldn't latch. In the beginning pump every 2 hours (mimick babies feeding schedule as if you were breast feeding). Although in personally only pumped twice during the night (once at 12, once at 2) then when my baby got up for the day I did my next one. Drink tons of water, eat oatmeal with almond milk, eat properly in general. You can also try fenugreek pills, mothers milk tea, brewers yeast, or domperidone (which is a prescription drug).
Avatar f tn I plan on going Back to work and I dont want it to be hard for the baby to transition from nipple to bottle. Just want to start with bottle but use breast milk instead of formula.
Avatar n tn Ok so with my first Pregnancy my drs told me that one of my breasts was underdeveloped and wouldn't produce milk so we went straight to bottle. Three days later I had milk in both breasts!!! I tried but my daughter wouldn't latch after that long. I'm very interested in breastfeeding with this baby but my daughter is 3 now and my sister breastfeeds my niece and my daughter literally freaks out... gets mad... tries to breastfeed off of anyone with breasts and has nightmares.
Avatar n tn I kept a pretty strict schedule when I was at work with pumping and was able to keep up and even have excess milk. With exclusively pumping there is a lot of cleaning/washing of parts that goes along with all the pumping and then all the bottles to wash. For me I would rather feed the baby directly than pump/bottle feed because of all the extra dishes (all the things to wash!!).
Avatar f tn I would not recommend pumping before your milk supply comes after the baby is born it could cause you to go into preterm labor. I'm having my second and after my first I never stopped lactating even when I stopped breastfeeding. I still would leak collosum (don't know if that is spelled right) especially when he would cry.
8552650 tn?1400287749 Is it better pumping out ur breast milk or just simply breastfeeding?
Avatar f tn ) Have you tried pumping? If your already breastfeeding it would be much cheep er a deep your supply up..
Avatar n tn m wondering if I should do expression of colostrum which is the practice of expressing your breast milk while pregnant. As if my boobs won’t get enough of that over the next year or two. Since I didn't breastfeed with my 1st I'm scared I won't get enough milk which I know expressing won't help with that but since I do not want to actually feed from my breast at the hospital I'd rather her have the colostrum from breast milk rather than them give her formula.
Avatar f tn I feel like im running out of milk since I been pumping, it hurts so bad when I breastfeed her n I got sore nipples from her sucking it..
