milk

1123420 tn?1350561158 Thanks that was a lot of help. I only want to feed it breast milk for a month not any longer. I Just don't want to worry about breast feeding in public, Ive always been the one that hated seeing girls do that in grocery stores and stuff like that. Nothing against them, I just wouldn't ever do it. And I don't want to deprive my baby of food, just because were in public so I think it would be better to just buy formula, but then again I don't know.. lol..
Avatar f tn hi I'm 30 weeks pregnant and from the start I've been saying I do not want to breast feed sounds awful I know but I just don't like the thought of doing it in public I know I can get a breast pump but I really do not want to, reason being is when I'm out and about people don't like it and some places don't like you doing it either and another reason is my boobs are so big I don't want to get it out, are my in the wrong??
Avatar f tn Your breast milk will only dry up when no longer stimulated to produce more...
Avatar f tn There is no differnts in pumping. the milk is the same if you put it in a bottle. If your worried about ppl seeing you feed you can pump and feed it to your baby out of the bottle. Some women do not feed from the Breast but they pump and give there baby the milk out of the bottle. And some women do not pump at all.
Avatar f tn I am so uncomfortable with the idea of breast feeding but I want to pump and keep my baby healthy as possible. The hospital told me to breast feed for a week then I could start pumping... But with me wanting to go back to work, in laws ALWAYS showing up at my house and me just feelig VERY uncomfortable about te whole situation, I would just rather pump. Plus I want my husband to be able to be a part of the feedings and caring for him.
Avatar f tn No one has said anything to me about it when I have. I tend to be a self conscious person in general. The other day I took my baby to meet her dad's family. We met up at the restraunt of the hotel they were staying in. I started to feed my baby, covered up, and the sister started talking about how awkward and uncomfortable it is to bf in public and asked if I wanted to go up to her room to feed the baby in private.
467126 tn?1283144858 Just bought an electric pump , not sure how often I need to pump? But when I do pump , and put the breastmilk in a bottle , I'm scared that my baby won't want my breast Anylonger and get used to only the bottle ! Any suggestions ?

Avatar f tn My best friends 3 year old son does this constantly. So is pumping and putting breast milk in a bottle just as healthy for him. I know its a weird question I just don't know what to do.
6894081 tn?1390747763 I had to pump a little after delivery because my daughter wasn't taking the breast ...but now she's doing great , and I still pump and breast feed her and she's two weeks.
Avatar f tn I had that pump and it sucked! It barely got any milk after like 30 minutes of pumping and made my nipples very sore and purple so i would advise dont get that one.
Avatar f tn I would breastfeed if Im able to and use formula only if absolutely necessary.Id be prepared to express milk in bottles so hubby can bottle feed if i was too tired. Being a ftm, this is my ideal and sounds good in theory but not sure if second time mums agree with this idea in practice.
14975014 tn?1437675913 I'm currently 34 weeks will be 35 on Tuesday, I was wondering if I could start pumping before hand so just in case I cant give her milk directly they won't have to give her formula. If I can how soon can I start?
Avatar f tn hi everyone i know that breast feeding is the best start you can give any baby, but everytime i go to see the midwife i feel guilty by saying that i dont want to breast feed as im hoping to go back to work after 3 months and also its the in-convienience of having to breast feed infront of family and friends and if i was ever on the bus or in public it would be a bit off putting please help is baby formula or expressing milk just as good?
8526246 tn?1405601876 How long after pumping is breast milk good for without refrigerating or do I have to refrigerate right away? I want to pump and feed without having to refrigerate and thaw but not sure if its not ok to do so.
Avatar f tn Pumping doesn't stimulate milk production like natural breastfeeding does. Try hand stimylating with pumping every hour, using warm rags around your breast to make the let down reflex easier, and eating certain foods and even some teas can help the body produce milk.
Avatar n tn I had my baby 5 days ago and im pumping and i only get a half an ounce each breast if that.. Will my breast supply increase??. I want to produce more milk what do i do?
7845638 tn?1395841467 That sounds great mommikat breastfeeding at night would work for me I read on this blog that milk does come in at the wee hours pumping seems like it's going to be a lot of work but I'm determined to make sure I don't have to resort to formula
Avatar f tn I would not recommend pumping before your milk supply comes after the baby is born it could cause you to go into preterm labor. I'm having my second and after my first I never stopped lactating even when I stopped breastfeeding. I still would leak collosum (don't know if that is spelled right) especially when he would cry.
3588173 tn?1357317184 Alright looks like I will be setting a couple alarms during the night to pump.
7058746 tn?1393435420 Its only colostrum at this stage, milk doesn't come in until after the baby is born. It can't hurt to pump and save though as colostrum is very important. Just be careful as pumping can cause contractions so if you feel any twinges to stop.
1149221 tn?1304827966 Is anyone else pumping and really getting tired of it? After the hospital made him have a bottle he would never take the breast so I have to pump. I am really getting tired of it. I just feel guilty if he has to have formula all the time (he gets it 2-3 times a day) plus pumping is free. I just find it so hard to take 30 minutes every 3 hours to pump. By the time I'm done both my boys are upset and I have to calm them both down. I just don't know what to do.
Avatar f tn When do breast milk starts coming out the breast I had my baby on the 29th no milk still
Avatar f tn You can give formula while pumping to breast feed but like others said it will be hard to keep up milk supply. Make sure to get the right pump, my first wouldnt latch so I had to pump but I lost my milk by 8 weeks and had to supplement with formula the whole time. Turns out I didnt have the right type of pump and didnt do it enough. I thought I would have problems having a baby breastfeed but my son did and I actually found pumping more awkward.
4093350 tn?1358096154 I don't breast feed in public. I pump and use that to bottle feed all day and at night I do the breast feeding. This way people can help me through out the day. I was getting too stressed breast feeding all day and night. When I'm going somewhere I bring a lunchbox with an ice pack and put a bottle of breast milk in there and bring a cup with me if I'm going to be at a store or something and if he gets hungry I fill it with warm water to get the milk to temp.
