Common Questions and Answers about Does pumping breast milk induce labor
milk
Thats weird because my doctor said nipple stimulation and breast Pumping provokes contractions because your body releases a hormone that causes contractions. I was just breast Pumping the other night and i started to get contractions.
Im 39 weeks 2 days with my second & I've heard pumping/nipple stimulation helps induce labor naturally. My question is if u pump what do u do with the colostrum or milk that u get? I'm leaking everyday so I know if I pump something is gonna come out but I don't want to waste wat I get pumped. Shld I just save it for her first bottle after a couple weeks of breastfeeding or bring it to the hospital for a feeding there?
I am going to try pumping for baby as regular breast feeding is not an option. I ordered a medela double electric pump and it should be here within the next 10 days. I am excited to try pumping as I never thoughof this option with my other two. Is it safeto try it out for a few minutes just to see how it works and what it feels like?
You don't want to pump to early maybe a day or two before your due date if you pump to early it could send you preterm labor. Sometimes when you go over your due date they'll have you start pumping since nipple stimulation could induce your labor.
I am currently 41+ weeks and was told yeaterday to use my breast pump 4 times a day for 15 minutes each time alternating sides to naturally inducelabor. It gives me horrible contractions and each time I do it they last a little longer after pumping. I'm hoping one of these times they last until baby is out.
Really? I read pumping is another easy u can stimulate your nipples. As soon as I seen colostrum I stopped I'm trying to induce my own labor before the Dr does it friday!
I would not recommend pumping before your milk supply comes after the baby is born it could cause you to go into preterm labor. I'm having my second and after my first I never stopped lactating even when I stopped breastfeeding. I still would leak collosum (don't know if that is spelled right) especially when he would cry.
I'm 37 weeks. My boobs kept feeling heavy and they were leaking so much. My nipples were sensitive and so sore. I breast pumped for 10 minutes on each boob. I got an ounce out from both boobs together. They feel so much better after pumping but I know it isn't recommended to breast pump before giving birth. I stopped and put breast pads on. What are your thoughts?
Has anyone tried pumping to induce labor? I'm so close and considering it to jump start things. 2 days until my due date and at the last appointment 1 week ago I was just over 3cm and 50% effaced.
They need that for a few days and when your real milk comes in, your baby is ready for it. You have to remember that your milk is made exactly for the baby, pumping before hand messes all that up and isn't good for either of you.
So I read that nipple stimulation can inducelabor. i used my breast pump for an hr yesterday and about 2hrs later started to get consistent BH. Then I noticed through out the day I had very light red discharge when using bathroom. So I went walking for a while last night, and all night I kept waking up to menstrual like cramps...I only feel it in my front abdomen so I'm assuming its still BH...but within past hr they seem to be getting stronger and it hurts!!
I agree with the others that the first milk is the best for baby and I know pumping can cause preterm labor so I feel like sucking on them would do the same
I was wondering when will my breast milk come? I am 33 weeks and 3days and Also I'm being induce between 38-39 weeks can my milk still come out even if I'm being induce?.. I'm planning on breast feeding my baby girl intill she is 6months and I'm afraid I won't be able to breasts feed or Cus milk might not come out!
Ok so I'm 34 weeks pregnant and I just got my breast milk today. I decided to squeeze my breast because it was hurting . and I started leaking . what do I do . I'm a ftm. I'm only 19 and do I pump? Or do I just leave it alone ?
s just as smart and independent as a breast fed baby. But, if I pump milk for this baby, does that relieve the pain in the breasts after birth? I'm really not looking forward to it.
They dont hurt bc of milk you dont get milk till after baby is born Before that we only have colostrum ba iea first milk. But that is.correct pumping can sometimes help inducelabor or any nipple stimulation.
So if my colostrum started leaking bad and I hooked up to the pump can I save it like breastmilk for my baby? Im 36 weeks and 3 days...been in and out of the hospital for pre term labor...
