provigil

620048 tn?1358018235 I tried a free 7 day supply of Nuvigil; I found that it lasts longer than Provigil, and seems pretty powerful. I found myself a little irritable, and had some rapid heartbeats, but that's something that can happen with me if I take a decongestant, so I wouldn't say that you would have the same side effects. I would suggest that you take it pretty early in the morning, as I really had a hard time sleeping, even with meds to help that.
405614 tn?1329144114 s medical assistant regarding my letter asking for help getting approval for Provigil. She said that Dr. S. said that Dr. Y. needs to do the research since she prescribed the Provigil. I explained that Dr. Y. prescribed the trial rx, and that Dr. S. had written a rx for "fatigue from cerebral white matter disease", that Dr. Y. hasn't considered that as a diagnosis, that she has MS as a differential diagnosis. 619930 tn?1260374254 I am in week 42 of tx and my trial doc prescribed 100 mg of Provigil to help with my fatigue (he can't/won't prescribe procrit). My hgb was at 9.4 as of last Friday after being in the mid 10's for a while. I am sleeping "ok" at night with Ambien CR, but have been getting close to worthless (mentally and physically) as far as work goes the past few weeks. I'm wondering if this will really help or possibily aggravate my dizziness from stairs and mild exertion.
539156 tn?1281818356 Tell him you have a good friend, who is an MD, with both MS and Fibro (okay a little fib, so sue me) who recommended that you talk to him about a trial of Provigil. Yes, it is off label, but the fatigue is destroying you and you need the help. If he won't then maybe your neuro will. Before you or anyone starts a med for Nerve Pain read the HP on Treating Nerve Pain. It was written by a visiting Pain Management doc who dropped by here.
518001 tn?1212419235 Is anyone taking Provigil? Has it helped you? What does it help? Do you have any side effects from it? I'm going to try it, after I get my results back from my next set of MRIs. Does it make the tremors worse? Thank you!
Avatar f tn If you want to give Provigil a try, go to their website, and you can download or call them and have them send you a coupon for a week's free trial. Have your doctor write it for 200 mg. and start by cutting them in half. I tried it that way, and it made such a difference in my life that I bought myself a prescription of it for Christmas; it was only (only, ha!) $306 at my pharmacy, so you might be able to find it for less than your first attempt.
405614 tn?1329144114 Hi Kathy, I think it can be shortened and more direct: Dear Dr. Please Support My Case to My Insurance Company, I’m writing once again for your help in appealing my insurance company's denial of my Provigil prescription. A one week trial was successful in improving my energy level. Other anti-fatigue medications are not appropriate for me due to a previous trial with Cylert.
Avatar f tn I remember that you have fibro as well as ms, and probably other things. What is your take on asking my dr about Provigil for the extreme fatigue of my fibro? I ended up taking a 3 1/2hr "nap" today. And will have no trouble sleeping tonight.A lot of the posts here mention taking it to help with their fatigue, just wondering if it would help fibro fatigue. Hope you are having a great Memorial Day weekend!
620048 tn?1358018235 However, someone here pointed out that Nuvigil might just be a way the makers of Provigil have to keep Provigil users paying for Trade name drug a little longer (since Provigil will be going generic soon). However, you might consider just having your doctor order a few pills of Nuvigil to see if it could help you. Also, regarding the Provigil: Make sure its expiration date is a long time off. I have found that can make a difference - that it gets weaker with time.
Avatar f tn I was in an accident, I currently have a metal plate, screws, & cadaver bone in my neck, operation 4 yrs ago, I have Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Restless leg syndrome, & depression. I have been on Oxycontin 20 mg 2 x day & Endocet for breakthru pain when needed, Provigil 200 mg 2 x day, Prozac 40 mgs which is on Walmarts 4 dollar plan.
Avatar m tn On the Vertex Prove 3 trial my doctor prescribed 200mg of Provigil for my 24 weeks of tx. At first it was great because of the extra energy and focus. However after a couple of months I began to feel really jumpy, speedy and kind of paranoid. I also had a lot of sleep issues, as in the lack of. If I ever had to tx again (which I don't because I'm SVR), I wouldn't rule out Provigil but like all drugs there are side effects.
230948 tn?1235844329 Hi All Posted a few days ago maybe a week about fatiuge alot of you advised to go my GP which i will and i have a rheumy and consultant appoinment in august so will bring it up there i have researched what is out there and the most popular seem to be this provigil but it is a has something to do with the neurotransmitter dopamine in the brain and i have been on requip and other dopamine meds as my rheumy seems to think these are greast but my body hates them i go mad on them!!
405614 tn?1329144114 OK, so halfway through my running around yesterday (my 2nd day taking Provigil), I realized that my PT exercises had reallllllly aggravated my lower back, hip, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, and my knees. I spent time with an ice pack after my trip to Costco. The good news there was that gas was $2.07 a gallon. The bad news was that I had to sit in line a lonnnnnnnggggg time. I stayed in a good mood, even though my back and leg (radiculopathy) were starting to hurt pretty badly.
1394098 tn?1385960134 So now my Dr is thinking of prescribing Provigil. Has anyone tried this drug. If so does it work well for fatigue. I read that it helps with focus but I haven't read anything about it helping with tiredness.
788554 tn?1257693252 None of the fatigue medications made me feel any better. It is just trial and error. What works for one person may not work for another.
405614 tn?1329144114 I received a letter of denial for Provigil coverage after a free week's trial (from the drug company). The Provigil made a world of difference, but is really expensive. My other option is Ritalin, and I don't like the sound of the side effects. I had no negative ones from Provigil.
666513 tn?1256917455 Shell, Thanks for your input. No. Provigil (actually, it was Nuvigil) did not provide any cognitive benefit for me whatsoever (just unusable, jittery/nervous energy). My Doctor has given me a trial of Savella to try next. So, if this trial of predinose hasn't led to any conclusions, and can't be used continuously, I guess that's my next drug experiment. Thanks again for your input.
1142551 tn?1264736930 Provigil is more expensive and I actually had more side effects with Provigil. Nuvigil is the 2nd generation of Provigil and the manufacturer has lowered the price to get everyone "switched" before the patent on Provigil expires in 2011. For me, the difference between Nuvigil and Provigil was amazing. Nuvigil gave me back my life. Provigil let me leave the house but I had trouble functioning. And since Provigil is "going away" it is tough to even get samples.

Avatar m tn What coupon did you use? If you didn't use the My Access coupon follow this link, it should help. It can be used with insurance (non Medicare). http://www.viread.com/en/my_access.
4251679 tn?1370305531 ive seen some trial sized at walmart but not anywhere else and not in all brands idk the count but you can look at the pack and see, i used pampers swaddlers and cruisers with my daughter the rest did not work not even huggies.
Avatar f tn Hi, Your doctor is being smart to not put you on a combination of Adderall and Concerta. They are both nervous system stimulants and together they can cause cardiac events such as a heart attack... How long have you been on the Bupropion? It can take 6-8 weeks to have any effect on your body..but that drug in most cases is not used to treat ADD and studies have proven that its not very effective in treating ADD.
968560 tn?1307451498 like GSDgirl, I looked it up, and it’s labeled for weight loss. Have you discussed the use of Provigil (modafinil) yet? This stuff is FDA labeled for fatigue (think fighter pilots :o)), and is supposed to be non-addictive.
Avatar f tn Have any of you registered at Target and had trouble getting your 15% off coupon for registry completion? I haven't gotten my coupon yet. I called customer service and they told me the coupon code was emailed to me Nov. 5. I hadn't gotten it, so they said they would resend it and even though it's coming through email, it would take a week or 2 for me to get it.
