Common Questions and Answers about Provigil side effects rash

provigil

619930 tn?1260374254 You are in a trial correct? Somewhere around week 40 now? Does your trial not permit rescue drugs like Procrit? I know different trials have different guidelines. Hgb is low and if Procrit is not permitted why hasn't your doctor reduced your Riba? At this point a reduction in riba will not be as critical if it were to occur early on in treatment. I have two unopened boxes of Provigil sitting on my dresser since Oct 08. After reading possible side effects I opted not to take it.
Avatar f tn do all of these crappy (literally) side effects EVER fade??? ive only been on the combined treatment for a month now....it just seems to b getting worse...the vomitting, crapping, fatigue, body aches, head aches, raw throat and mouth....i just hate to ask my docs for all kinds of meds....just wondering if it gets better closer to the one year marker????
Avatar f tn Have looked up the drug info online and it said side effects include nausea and anxiety, among other things, including a serious rash.. It also said that interactions with quite a lot of other drugs are possible. Among them are 2 I take, omeprazole (Prilosec) for GERD, and Lexapro. I'm asking for experiences with Provigil, the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm wondering if these cautions are included just to cover every possible contingency, or if serious side effects are common.
Avatar f tn However, because it was the only thing that worked for me after trying other options, I determined that the side effects were worth it. After a long hiatus, I recently tried Provigil again. While it worked better than the others, the results were unpredictable at best. So, when Nuvigil hit the market, I asked my doctor for a script, and he provided me with some samples. I have been taking the medication now for two months and have been thrilled with the results.
Avatar m tn I am just finishing week 12 of tx. Hopefully I will get good news from my PCR test this week. For the first 11 weeks of the tx, I had a very tough time. Barely had the energy to make it out of bed most days, and was extremely foggy all the time. It was very difficult to be able to concentrate on my work or do anything requiring the use of my brain. I was seriously thinking about stopping the tx because of this even though I know the consequences. My Dr. recently prescribed Provigil for me.
Avatar f tn Today I took Provigil for the third time, and it's the third time in a week I've needed it. I'm scared to take it daily because of the severe side effects some people have had, but it's a wonderful drug and I'm curious about what it's doing and how it works in MSers. For me it's all about the "Winco Effect" -- the grocery store that always reduces me to a yawning zombie within 15 minutes (since October 08).
Avatar n tn Im wondering since wellbutrin has a triple filtration (through the liver) process has anyone experienced side effects or damaging effects in regards to their liver? Is this a "safe" choice for someone with Hep c? I get pretty down and have extremely low energy and looking for help. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Do the new drugs come with their own side effects besides the ones that soc come with? Not sure if I asked that right, I'm still waiting for everything to come together but if the new meds come with even worse side effects than one might already get maybe that's another reason to treat now.
Avatar n tn Hi, hyperkinesias and agitation are associated with provigil but incidence is around 1% only. Dechallenge or removal of drug followed by normal behavior is the only way to find out relation between drug and symptom. For information visit http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/modafinil_ad.
398059 tn?1447945633 I'm sure you had lots to talk about.... I think that the only drawback Quix has mentioned is the desire to become Superwoman, and doing too much, because she feels the pseudo-energy. Then she crashes, because she's done too much. But she has learned over time to overcome this. I don't remember any untoward side effects from the Provigil. I don't ever recall feeling "high" or anything. It wasn't like caffeine, either.
1511858 tn?1290477459 Anyways question is has anybody ever taken provigil before, there seems to be alot of side effects, but as long as it will help with my tireness I will be happy.
2288403 tn?1339564728 t sleep that night one time I did look up the side effects for provigil and back ache was one of them but im not sure if I ever had that or not...
Avatar f tn sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.
Avatar f tn It seems to have less severe side-effects for me. The only problem is that it causes my Irritable Bowel Syndrome to get out of control. So frustrating! Other than that, I would really recommend it. Best of luck to you, I hate the fatigue of this illness.
233622 tn?1279334905 I have been on 400 mg of provigil for about 5 or 6 years now. I don't take it all everyday, I cut them in half... some days take both of em... depends on how draggy I am feeling. My mom who has high blood pressure also is on provigil for narcolepsy (SPEELED HORRIBLY WRONG!) She had a heart attack back in April and provigil was one of the first drugs the heart doctor put her back on.
1089121 tn?1256818742 oh yes these are some of the wounderful side effects of tx,do check with your dr.about your hives to make sure its not a reaction but my dr. put me on tiamcinolone cream for the rash,it does tin to help.
797195 tn?1240579823 I even feel the effects of the Provigil the next day (though not nearly as strong). Actually the Provigil fades out about 8 hours after I take it, but I sure do sleep well that night! The next day, I have slightly more energy than usual. I love Provigil, but, due to the chest fullness, can't use it very often so that is why I was considering Adderall (I'm also ADD). In your opinion, how did the Adderall compare to the Provigil in terms of fatigue reduction?
Avatar f tn t even remember if I had had a problem before I started the new med....So please, be careful with all the meds out there....the side effects can be worse than the disease!!!!! I hate the thought of trying yet another new med but I really do need something to help w/ fatigue....I'm having a lot of trouble making it through 12-15hr workdays......My neuro suggested maybe trying Ritalin.....he says Provigil is the best, but it is kind of pricey even w/ my insurance.......
Avatar n tn Have you talked to the doctor who prescribed the provigil and nuvigil to see what their opinion is? Did they ever try decreasing your dose to see if you'd have less side effects but still benefit from the medicine? There are a number of other medications that can be taken to promote wakefulness.
Avatar f tn s office and asked about these symptoms, the nurse stated the doctor said these were not normal side effects. How do I get my Oncologist to see that I am having these problems and to treat them?
Avatar f tn I had tried Provigil some years ago for fatigue and didn't have a good experience. I now take Vyvanse for ADHD, and it helps with energy and focus, too. It's great. If you can make it past the side effects in the start; once they are gone, it's great.
