I've heard that the generic provigil isn't half what provigil is........but have filled out the paperwork for provigil, just haven't heard back from them yet, for assistance.

could anyone give me ideas as to where or who i would contact to get some patient assistance for acute hep c treatment? I am not working, cannot wait on s.s. disability. I try to do some construction work when available, but it is really rough.

I called the company that makes it today, to inquire about their Patient Assistance Program. If you have any insurance, you aren't eligible for their help, even if your insurance won't pay for their medication. They will assist you in an appeal, but the guy I talked to admitted that it wasn't worth my time and effort, because without a proper diagnosis, it won't do any good.

I was in an accident, I currently have a metal plate, screws, & cadaver bone in my neck, operation 4 yrs ago, I have Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Restless leg syndrome, & depression. I have been on Oxycontin 20 mg 2 x day & Endocet for breakthru pain when needed, Provigil 200 mg 2 x day, Prozac 40 mgs which is on Walmarts 4 dollar plan.

The patient is taking Lamictal for depression and Provigil for narcolepsy (EDS) diagnosed via MSLT.

i was told today the VA no longer will Rx provigil for MS fatigue. have to have a sleep disorder and get it from pulmonary now. they will, for MS patient fatigue Rx amantadine. i have battled MS fatigue for years and recently decided to try something for it, so the VA is Rx amantadine vs provigil. anyone on this list try amantadine for MS fatigue? just checking with the experts here (actual suffers). i thought provigil was what i needed.

I remember that you have fibro as well as ms, and probably other things. What is your take on asking my dr about Provigil for the extreme fatigue of my fibro? I ended up taking a 3 1/2hr "nap" today. And will have no trouble sleeping tonight.A lot of the posts here mention taking it to help with their fatigue, just wondering if it would help fibro fatigue. is really just what the insurance company can expect to be charged, not the individual patient. As it says at the end, people who can not afford it can avail of patients' assistance programmes, and if this proves prohibitive still, there may be programmes or grants through charities of societies to make up the difference.

I wanted to share some encouraging news for people who have Chronic Hep B and have financial difficulty affording Baraclude. I contacted Brystol Myers Squibb and applied for the Patient Assistance Program. So now my Dr is thinking of prescribing Provigil. Has anyone tried this drug. If so does it work well for fatigue. I read that it helps with focus but I haven't read anything about it helping with tiredness.

Has anyone heard that the insurance companies are starting to approve Provigil for MS? The company must have changed the recommendations for use. I did a prior authorization for a patient today. She needed Provigil for Sleep Apnea. Sleep disorders are what this med has mostly been used for. But this time, where the approved diagnosis' were listed, MS was on the list. It's the first time I have seen this since I have been doing the authorizations.

After getting the run around for months, my insurance company has now denied payment for Provigil. They refuse because using Provigil for MS fatigue is an "off the label" use for the medication. Any advice???

Hi, Many of in our community use Provigil or Nuvigil for fatigue. There are other medical options that you can discuss with your doctor. On a practical level. You have to learn to gauge your activity level to the time of day when you have the most energy. For a lot of us ,it is in themorning, for others like me-a night owl, I do better in the early afternoon. the secreat is NOT to overdo no matter how good you feel or you will pay the price the next day.

This is my understanding of the patient assistance programs for Incivek. The list price, which no patient will have to end up paying, is $49,200 for 12 weeks. HOWEVER, the patient assistance programs, are more than generous. Typical Co-pay for the three prescriptions that will be needed will be between $50 and $250 each.
