provigil high

I'm taking Provigil and have high blood pressure. I also take a beta blocker, Propanolol. I think the too interact with each other. I tried to take the full dose, but never was able to. It must strengthen the Provigil or something, because I just don't feel right on the full dosage (I've even tried it recently after being on it for 6 months and couldn't do it). However, on the half dose, I love it! I'm more alert and less fatigued. My blood pressure is about the same.

This is my first day on Provigil, taking 200 mg this morning. This is an attempt to replace Adderall 15 to 30 mg per day. Provigil walloped my blood pressure. It dropped by 10 points when I check 12 hours after taking the first dose. I've been lethargic most of today. I finally took an Adderall so I could function.

It felt like I was a little high. Provigil, on the other hand, is a slow and gradual release. I take it in the morning, and within an hour or so, I notice I can just concentrate better and am less tired. Its very gradual and lasts a lot longer than Provigil. I'm hoping my Nuvigil will help me get off Lexapro, which I had been taking for depression and anxiety. I've been having side effects from the Lexapro like extreme craving for sweets, weight gain, fatigue.

I dont know if this is accurate or not, but I thought it should be shared. I just read this in the "Health" Section of Foxnews.com I have heard a lot of really good things about Provigil, although I've never used it. It was recommended to me many times though. Just some food for thought. Seems EVERYTHING comes with its own set of dangers attached.

I have MS and take 200 mg of Provigil a day. I have not had ANY adverse side effects from it. I dont feel high. I just feel awake, alert, and normal. Occassionally I still get daytime sleepiness but it has helped condiderably.

I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . I am glad that I have energy but I feel jittery my legs feel like they are going hundred miles and hour and I am stuttering badly in the am I think I am trying to talk faster then I can get it out.

Hi everybody, I went to my doctor today regarding my tireness and how I still have tremors in the legs and hands, He put me on provigil, he also shared with me that he feels when my thyroid is out of whack its causeing this attack on something that would otherwise was dorment? He wants to still rule out ms but if i dont have ms he wants to start searching for the other things he has in mind. He refused to say what!!!!!! wants me to focus on ruling out ms.

The propanolol increases the Provigil in the blood. I only take 100 mg. of Provigil. I have tried other medicines for fatigue and they don't work for me. I don't have any adverse effect and it actually makes me feel human. Typically, the medicines used for attention deficit disorder or ADHD are used to combat fatigue.

A co-worker called this week with a question about our insurance - she was denied provigil/nuvigil, even though her doctor contacted the insurance company and appealed the decision. She suffers great fatigue and the sample helped her a lot. She was wondering if I had any clues as to how others get this drug approved since it is not an MS drug.

It's been a rough two weeks. The Provigil worked well at the start. I was like my old self. It was amazing. Then after a few days I noticed by the end of the week that my heart was beating erratically. I reduced the dose and the heart palpatations went away. However now I notice that my left eye is blurry. At first I was trying to adjust to my glasses and several times, sure enough, there was a spot on the glasses.

I received a letter of denial for Provigil coverage after a free week's trial (from the drug company). The Provigil made a world of difference, but is really expensive. My other option is Ritalin, and I don't like the sound of the side effects. I had no negative ones from Provigil.

Does anyone have information on Provigil Abuse? Is it possible? My husband was addicted to prescription Oxy for 5 years and since getting off (3 years ago) has been on several different meds to overcome depression, etc. He has been taking Provigil for 2 years, but recently he runs out of his prescription before the refill date and he stays awake for days on end, between 7-10 days.

I'm sure you had lots to talk about.... I think that the only drawback Quix has mentioned is the desire to become Superwoman, and doing too much, because she feels the pseudo-energy. Then she crashes, because she's done too much. But she has learned over time to overcome this. I don't remember any untoward side effects from the Provigil. I don't ever recall feeling "high" or anything. It wasn't like caffeine, either.

I don't have MS (so it appears), but I have quite a few similar symptoms, including dizziness and the related brain fog and fatigue. Back in 2000, neuro prescribed Provigil, saying "we used to use Ritalin for this" but that Provigil is now favored because of fewer side effects. Provigil was very helpful for both fatigue and cognition, although I didn't like the late-afternoon "letdown" effect I got with it. It was rather unpleasant.

I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?

Is anyone familiar with the drug provigil or monafinil for enery and depression...? It is a drug for narcolepsy....wakes me up but not sure about use during tapering tabs...

Has anyone tried ProVigil? My sleep specialist suggested that I try it for the deep tiredness that I experience, even after getting great help with sleep from my CPAP machine. By the way, my trip to Seattle went very well. Though it is indeed very hilly, the cooler weather and low humidity made it easier to get around than here is muggy Baltimore. The weather seems to have a huge impact on this disease.

Is anyone taking Provigil? Has it helped you? What does it help? Do you have any side effects from it? I'm going to try it, after I get my results back from my next set of MRIs. Does it make the tremors worse? Thank you!

I am currently taking provigil for my fatigue. The pharmacy had to order it so I was out for a few days. During those days I have been headache free. It seems that my headache has come back since I started taking it again. It isn't as bad as a normal one but it is enough to be irritating. I am curious as to whether anyone else has had this issue and if so did it go away after a while. It has really helped the fatigue but I would hate to think that the daily headaches are back.

s been an issue with me for more than 10 years, but the last 2 months I was really bad and just being awake for more than 5 hours wore me out. He prescribed Provigil and I've read some of the threads on it and it sounds very promising. My question is, is it something you can take daily indefinitely? Or are you supposed to just take it when you need it (which would be daily for me!) I hope my insurance will cover it because I'm not diagnosed with ms or anything.

I am in week 42 of tx and my trial doc prescribed 100 mg of Provigil to help with my fatigue (he can't/won't prescribe procrit). My hgb was at 9.4 as of last Friday after being in the mid 10's for a while. I am sleeping "ok" at night with Ambien CR, but have been getting close to worthless (mentally and physically) as far as work goes the past few weeks. I'm wondering if this will really help or possibily aggravate my dizziness from stairs and mild exertion.

A decent GP would be the place to start ..... provigil is actually indicated for treatment of CFS .......... Its an expensive drug at 10.00 a pill prescription.....lots of insurance companies dont wish to cover it for that reason...... but it is being widely used now - - it will most likely be rescheduled before long because it has more of the shortcomings that straight amphetamines have than was thought during trials........

After all this time, three years at least, my insurance company is no longer approving me for Provigil. This drug is the one thing that I've taken that has made a huge impact on the quality of my life. Without it, I'm unable to think clearly and I'm too fatigued to get up out of bed or off the couch. I may have to retire on disability because there's no way I will be able to teach. The drug also helps with the ADD (diagnosed after the MS as an adult, LOL).
