Avatar m tn I was given Reglan last Nov after I was diagnosed with ulcers. I didn't suffer the side effects you both are describing, thank God, but had to go off of it because it made my period start and stop. Really severe bleeding. My GI doc INSISTED the Reglan wasn't the culprit, and it wasn't until after I presented her with the side effects list from the pharmacy, would she acknowledge I was right. As soon as I quit this med, my system went back to normal.
Avatar f tn I am reading a lot about the drug nuvigil and it seems it can cause insomnia. Has anyone experienced this? I am also going to take cymbalta so it may counteract it a bit. I am a little nervous to take them tomorrow. Oh my .. nothing about this disease is easy. Thanks for all your advice and knowledge. I appreciate it more than u know. love to all .....
Avatar f tn My neuro has just prescribed Provigil for me. (I emailed him and he answered within 5 minutes! Gotta hand it to him for that.) Anyway, I had previously had Amantadine, which did zilch, even at 200 mg. I am authorized to take 100 mg of Provigil, and can go to 200 if necessary. From what I recall, many of you take half a pill, so I guess that's 50. Have looked up the drug info online and it said side effects include nausea and anxiety, among other things, including a serious rash..
12594947 tn?1426138835 If I take them too often and stop I get rebound insomnia real bad. Reason why I only take as needed and usually only for anxiety and panic attacks. xanax worked great but I liked ativan a lot better. They seem to work long term when i used to take them many days in a row. Never any bad effects the next day. Marijuana also works great for me every night and is legal where I am under state law. I usually fall asleep instantly. If i stop I get rebound insomnia but not as bad as the benzos.
968560 tn?1307451498 Anybody know if there is any problems taking tramadol and provigil together?
1100837 tn?1267668675 m experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?
201897 tn?1245842334 m currently going through perimenopause and wondering if the hormal fluxuations have triggered the insomnia which, in turn, has brought on the other issues. I most certainly have sleep deprivation and now realize many (not all) of these events have taken place when I'm lying on my back. I try to keep a regular time when I go to bed, although the time I wake tends to be highly irregular. I'm attempting to do some research on my own on the particular topic of sleep tremors.
Avatar n tn I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?
1511858 tn?1290477459 My muscles tremor when over exherted and I need Provigil to get out of the bed and drive and function without fear of falling asleep ...I've been taking provigil with great success however, I am having a hard time with insurance filling it with new Medicare ins. restrictions and pre auth's required etc.
1394098 tn?1385960134 This is very important as most drugs for CFS have direct effects on neurotransmitters such as Cymbalta, which is a Serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and Provigil, which is a dopamine transporter re-uptake inhibitor.
Avatar f tn s been an issue with me for more than 10 years, but the last 2 months I was really bad and just being awake for more than 5 hours wore me out. He prescribed Provigil and I've read some of the threads on it and it sounds very promising. My question is, is it something you can take daily indefinitely? Or are you supposed to just take it when you need it (which would be daily for me!) I hope my insurance will cover it because I'm not diagnosed with ms or anything.
1088527 tn?1425313375 I started taking provigil yesterday and wow I cant believe the energy I scrubbed the shower down washed the cabinets down went food shopping then took dog to dog park for 4 hours then home and dinner usually just one of these activities wipes me out . I am glad that I have energy but I feel jittery my legs feel like they are going hundred miles and hour and I am stuttering badly in the am I think I am trying to talk faster then I can get it out.
233622 tn?1279334905 I take Coreg for bp and tachycardia and am also taking Provigil. I get relief from my fatigue on just 100mg a day and have had no problem with the bp. I have noticed some mild tachycardia recently, but I think it may be connected to the recent switch to generic Coreg. I'm curious . . . can tachycardia be caused by MS?
Avatar m tn I would like to warn you, I was getting all these symptoms being the sole caregiver of my parents, mom with a stroke, and dad with a blend of Alzheimer's, Bipolar, and Senile Dementia. I was there several years before my doctor did give me provigil. The thing is, I wished I would have known that what I had was caregiver burnout, and I didn't need more energy to use up to get a longer period of burnout, I needed someone to help me.
401095 tn?1351391770 Is anyone familiar with the drug provigil or monafinil for enery and depression...? It is a drug for narcolepsy....wakes me up but not sure about use during tapering tabs...
390916 tn?1204840470 I used to love going to Seattle and climbing up and down all those hills; I once walked from lower Queen Anne to the Woodland Park Zoo, walked around there, and walked all the way back. Those days are gone, but I would like to try it in a car someday just to measure how far I went (not to mention elevation gain and loss) I live down in Portland, but I've been to Seattle many times. I'm glad you got to enjoy it.
Avatar f tn then he would take ambien/lunesta to go to sleep. all of the provigil and ambien/lunesta samples would always be gone from the drug room at the office i worked at and they were not going to the patients...
5509293 tn?1428531475 Hi Corrie, Thanks so much for input. After some waiting, some calls, neuro wants me to stick with it since it's helping fatigue and try a lower dose so I am doing that now and it's better so far and still effective without the sudden heart poundings! So we'll see how it goes. Do you mind me asking why you stopped it after a year? Did you no longer need it or did you try something else? Ison't know how you would know you no longer need it unless you come off it.
429700 tn?1308007823 But, there is a strong case for you to stay on it, and not try the others. i.e., vulnerability to adverse reactions and what that can do to you and MS in terms of set backs and exacerbations.
