provigil

1842804 tn?1319756311 Tried Provigil, tried Ritalin, ended up on Strattera and it's been a perfect godsend for me! (I did not have trouble with Provigil and Ritalin--they helped a lot, although Provigil had an uncomfortable late-afternoon "letdown" effect for me), but after a year or two they did not work so well.
Avatar m tn ask your Dr. about Strattera. It is prescribed for Attention Deficit disorder, but is not a stimulant. It is non-addictive and not a controlled substance. It also has some of the same properties as SSNRI's. Since it affects neurotransmitters it is a very useful drug.

968560 tn?1307451498 I know that they give adderol and ritalin for fatigue and concentration, which by the way are both schedule II class drugs. although they are both very effective for fatigue brain fog due to tx.but they have a very high abuse potential and in texas, where I live an MD can have a class v through class III schedule license, but in order to write for class II substances he must apply and be granted a special license to write for class a II substance.
Avatar f tn The pharmaceutical company that makes these two drugs (nuvigil and provigil) has a program that your neurologist should have the application for to help you pay for the prescription. I will try to find out what the name of it is (I am on it). I ended up getting my provigil for free. I will look and hopefully post back later today!
Avatar m tn I have MS and this is why I am asking about Ritalin instead of the 600 mg of provigil i take every Morning
429700 tn?1308007823 t follow (ADHD with or without the H part) long enough to function as well as you could, Ritalin can help to slow it down and give you longer concentration. It also slows down the hyperactive part of ADHD and provides some relief though not always. Now the opposite affect is thought to happen in none affected individuals, so speeds up thought, energy etc one of the reasons Ritalin has value in the illegal drug world and club seen. It is sort of like speed but legal.
20003388 tn?1515166040 So, for years now I have suffered from extreme fatigue and brain fog/memory issues. I had my testosterone and thyroid checked, both were low. I on now on thyroid meds and testosterone replacement but it hasn't made a dent in my fatigue and brain fog despite my levels being optimal now. I do have sleep apnea and use a CPAP at night but my numbers there are also optimal. Caffeine, and most stimulants, make the fatigue worse.
Avatar f tn Some doctors will Rx a drug like Provigil that can increase focus and concentration; it’s used by shift workers and US Air force pilots to increase awareness and concentration at times. By the way, it’s amphetamine free. So many of the side effects can be ameliorated with intervention… especially interferon induced depression/anxiety.
Avatar f tn Plus, what are the other benefits of using copaxone othr than slowing down the formation of new lesions. Will I get my energy back? Will my concentration get better? Any info you kind folks have will help me very much.
760131 tn?1238217597 ask the doctor about provigil. It boosts energy and concentration but less dangerous than adderall. It comes in 100mg and 200mg. At ur dose--u will need the 200mg. The military gives it to fighter pilots. It may help your problem. Remember--as addicts, we can swith DOC. Don't blow your progress. Give the provigil a try. Good luck!
Avatar n tn After explaining to my doctor that I am always sleepy, never feel rested, little energy or motivation, lack of concentration and irritability I did a day sleep study. I took four 25 minute naps an hour and a half apart. On the average I fell asleep within 4 minutes and reach REM sleep on three of the four naps. Since then I've been taking 200mg of Provigil/day, but not feeling better.
871962 tn?1244730028 The medications I have used are provigil and adderall, and I don't take them every day, so tracking them would be helpful. (I currently take provigil.) Tracking the degree of sleepiness is also helpful, since I am sleepy almost every day and a yes/no doesn't do much. Others with narcolepsy might benefit from tracking sleep paralysis but fortunately I don't have that problem. That being said, I really like all the trackers here.
968560 tn?1307451498 Anybody know if there is any problems taking tramadol and provigil together?
620048 tn?1358018235 I do use OTC sleep aids like you said and i think for now i will continue, i have some ambien, but i will keep it to use when i need it, since i had to beg for it. I dont want to use it all the time anyway. And i use 200 mg of provigil now, and i sometimes i could use a bit more. But i try to stick with 200 mg.
1100837 tn?1267668675 m experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?
Avatar m tn i seemed to have poor memory and concentration, and difficulties retaining knowledge.I have difficulties building up knowledge and forgets easily.I am a 36 year old male and not diagnosed with ADHD or ADD.I would like to ask whether stimulatants like Ritalin and Provigil would help me to learn better.
Avatar n tn Effexor, Wellbutrin, Provigil, and Neurontin. These are for my depression and to help stabilize moods. Just this past week I didn't take meds for 6 or 7 days. I really can't remember. I could feel the effects. Mine was uncontrollable crying for no reason. My Effexor is 75mg 4 times a day and Lamictil 200mg 2 times a day. I know what the consequences are if I don't take meds, but when depressed and extremely anxious over nothing in general, I frequently miss a dose.
Avatar n tn i try to provide structure to his day, but that seems to irrritate him. If i tell him we will do so and so, 15 min later he is on to something else forgetting what i said previously? Hard for me to understand if it is him or the disease. he is 18 yrs old.
Avatar n tn I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?
1511858 tn?1290477459 My muscles tremor when over exherted and I need Provigil to get out of the bed and drive and function without fear of falling asleep ...I've been taking provigil with great success however, I am having a hard time with insurance filling it with new Medicare ins. restrictions and pre auth's required etc.
1394098 tn?1385960134 This is very important as most drugs for CFS have direct effects on neurotransmitters such as Cymbalta, which is a Serotonin–norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and Provigil, which is a dopamine transporter re-uptake inhibitor.
Avatar f tn s been an issue with me for more than 10 years, but the last 2 months I was really bad and just being awake for more than 5 hours wore me out. He prescribed Provigil and I've read some of the threads on it and it sounds very promising. My question is, is it something you can take daily indefinitely? Or are you supposed to just take it when you need it (which would be daily for me!) I hope my insurance will cover it because I'm not diagnosed with ms or anything.
