provigil

233622 tn?1279334905 I'm taking Provigil and have high blood pressure. I also take a beta blocker, Propanolol. I think the too interact with each other. I tried to take the full dose, but never was able to. It must strengthen the Provigil or something, because I just don't feel right on the full dosage (I've even tried it recently after being on it for 6 months and couldn't do it). However, on the half dose, I love it! I'm more alert and less fatigued. My blood pressure is about the same.
5509293 tn?1428531475 I have been taking nuvigil 250mg every morning since 2009. Now 2015 my insurance will not pay. My dr has send everything insurance ask for. So my dr put me on Modofinil 200mg 2 every morning I'm paying 299.99 for 30 pills because my insurance is saying its for people with sleep disorders or shift workers.
Avatar n tn I went to the ENT and got a CT scan and they said they didnt see any problems with my sinuses. I also stopped taking Provigil, but im still having pressure in my temples and forehead. I know Provigil can cause headaches but this is not like any headache I have had. I still feel pressure in my temples and forhead even though I have stopped taking Provigil. Can you have withdraws from Provigil?
1100837 tn?1267668675 Effexor works quite well. Provigil-be cautious. Especially if you have high blood pressure or any heart issues. I can only tolerate /12 a pill at a time. It makes my heart race. It helps with fatigue but it's very much like a caffeine pill, you will feel like you are crashing later. Don't take it late in the day. What about Cymbalta? Cymbalta is touted for pain from FM and I think for RA? Effexor has a lot more side effects. But again I did have success with it.
797195 tn?1240579823 I have been living with MS for ten years and have been lucky. Between taking AVonex and Provigil my relapses are very few and far between. and also not severe.
Avatar f tn The PCP thinks it is all from the Provigil giving him very high blood pressure. On Sunday it was 160/104 and up on Monday. On Saturday when it happened we had downed power lines on our street and a power failure, so I did not take Craig's B/P till late in the evening. By then it was not so high. So no more Provigil The PCP thought it was not necessary to worry about it and the opthamologist thought the same., As long as his B/P does not spike, they think he will be fine.
572651 tn?1530999357 I also have high blood pressure and can't take any other stimulant prescription. I also have MS and BCBS insurance. They denied my neurologists request to prescribe me Provigil. After suffering through months of extremely debilitating fatigue, I had an emotional break down when the doctor gave me the news and said his request was denied by the insurance company. I am feeling hopeless right now.
1511858 tn?1290477459 My muscles tremor when over exherted and I need Provigil to get out of the bed and drive and function without fear of falling asleep ...I've been taking provigil with great success however, I am having a hard time with insurance filling it with new Medicare ins. restrictions and pre auth's required etc.
398059 tn?1447945633 Hi, Michael~ Hopefully Craig and Elaine will speak up here, but I believe Craig is off the Provigil because of blood pressure issues. Docs believe the blood pressure fluctuations lead to his transitory vision loss. (Hmmmm.) I should also say that Quix has hailed Provigil as the drug which allows her to live her life with much better quality. She has said without it, she would have to be classified as a statue. Yes, she cracks me up, too.
Avatar n tn ll know whether to adjust the oxygen saturation and pressure and/or adjust your RLS meds... sometimes Mirapex will indeed lose its effectiveness over time and need a change.
Avatar f tn s been an issue with me for more than 10 years, but the last 2 months I was really bad and just being awake for more than 5 hours wore me out. He prescribed Provigil and I've read some of the threads on it and it sounds very promising. My question is, is it something you can take daily indefinitely? Or are you supposed to just take it when you need it (which would be daily for me!) I hope my insurance will cover it because I'm not diagnosed with ms or anything.
149081 tn?1242397832 For the last 2 saturdays I have had weird attacks where my body juist wants to give out- i get a weird bad pressure in my head, my body gets numb and I get the shakes, and feel like i'm going to collapse- my brain cannot focus.
871962 tn?1244730028 The medications I have used are provigil and adderall, and I don't take them every day, so tracking them would be helpful. (I currently take provigil.) Tracking the degree of sleepiness is also helpful, since I am sleepy almost every day and a yes/no doesn't do much. Others with narcolepsy might benefit from tracking sleep paralysis but fortunately I don't have that problem. That being said, I really like all the trackers here.
1100837 tn?1267668675 m experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?

Avatar f tn I saw my PCP today, and he told me Provigil was VERY expensive, $500.00 a month and insurance co would fight it, and even then my co-pay would be out of sight. He started me on a perscription of Bontril. I took one about 11:30 today, and had no problems today at work. I'm excited about this, I sure hope it works. I do have to see him every month to get a refill, as it does have some serious side-effects. But I really need the feeling of wakefullness and energy it gave me today.
Avatar f tn It is common in the morning time to get racing tachycardia, i get it every morning. My doc said it is all because of the POTS and our blood pressure is like trying to wake us up in the morning so we dont feel fatigue. In the morning ur adrenaline in ur body is higher which causes the HR to rise and in POTS patients adrenaline is even more high. The first thing i do when i wake up is take 10 mg of Atenenol to calm the adrenaline and tachy, then i take my midodrine- i take 20 mg every 4 hours.
968560 tn?1307451498 Anybody know if there is any problems taking tramadol and provigil together?
620048 tn?1358018235 I do use OTC sleep aids like you said and i think for now i will continue, i have some ambien, but i will keep it to use when i need it, since i had to beg for it. I dont want to use it all the time anyway. And i use 200 mg of provigil now, and i sometimes i could use a bit more. But i try to stick with 200 mg.
Avatar f tn Adderall is often used to treat depression, as one of the major symptoms of depression is low motivation and excessive sleepiness. Adderal also increases blood pressure and heart rate and can also cause intense anxiety in many users. Doctors will sometimes prescribe a benzodiazapine like xanax or a beta-blocker to counter these effects. Nearly 90% of people with depression have combroid anxiety disorders which benzodiazapines are most commonly prescribed for.
765921 tn?1240405239 I went to my 2nd neurologist today and he seemed so much better than the 1st one I had. Although the first one I had did order a brain MRI, he didn't do anything to follow up on anything else after the brain MRI came back normal. He kept talking about deficiencies but never did lab work to confirm it, and never focused on my symptoms.
567489 tn?1297250714 t be caused by either of those medications, and to never stop something like Tegretol on my own. He did say Provigil could raise my blood pressure/heartrate, but since I had been taking it for a year and a half, it was unlikely to be the cause; could be from anxiety. My PCP ordered an event monitor, to track the pounding of my heart, and figure out what is causing it. I often take 1/2 of a Provigil, since my insurance doesn't cover it and I can get by doing some things on 1/2 a 200 mg.
Avatar f tn Can anyone offer some insight?
1710955 tn?1309446473 The propanolol increases the Provigil in the blood. I only take 100 mg. of Provigil. I have tried other medicines for fatigue and they don't work for me. I don't have any adverse effect and it actually makes me feel human. Typically, the medicines used for attention deficit disorder or ADHD are used to combat fatigue.
Avatar f tn About the research studies or the clinical trials on drugs - usually it is done on a large group of individuals and is done under medical supervision. It is best to consult a new doctor and get evaluated including the blood pressure and try to decrease the stress by relaxation techniques. Do post your thoughts and take care.
