I have experienced absolutely no physical or psychiatric side effects from this medicine. My blood pressure is consistently 120/80 and pulse shows no tachycardia and is regular. No evidence of any known side effects, health appears entirely fine, but no tests/examinations have been done.

I have been put on Modafinil for my sleeping issues and it makes my birth control less effective according to my neurologist and pharmacist. Is there any way I can find out how MUCH less? Am I even protected at all? I have been on the pill for 10 years and after hearing this, I immediately called my gynecologist to discuss other options. She told me that the oral pill would metabolize through the liver much faster on Modafinil and so she put me on the Nuvaring.
any advice or experiences that could help me understand would be really helpful please. My brother has started university to study architecture this year and due to the huge amount of nights he had to work, started going on modafinil. Now that the year is finished and he's not taking it however, he has become aggressive, irrational and rude. Does anyone know if this is because of the modafinil or if there's a link.
I have been taking 100 grams of modafinil pills for about 2 weeks to get through exams and now that I have stopped taking anything, I am experiencing constant dizziness. I am wondering whether I should wait this out or whether I need to see a doctor asap....

Can anyone please tell me if adrafinil (pre-cursor to Modafinil) will affect taking birth-control pills? In other words, if I occasionally take adrafinil to help me study - will it make the pills ineffective. I certainly don't want to get pregnant.

Hi. I need some help figuring out how Modafinil works. I basically have something which seems like Insomnia but it isn't. I believe I suffer from Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome. I have had it since I was 15, I am 25 now. The problem is that, I can't maintain a proper schedule. I can never sleep at a particular time everyday. It keeps moving as every day passes by. For example, right now I am sleeping at around 9 AM everyday and then I am getting up at around 5 PM.

Under side effects for Nuvigil it says, "Skin and mouth sores, blistering, and ulceration have been reported with modafinil and NUVIGIL in the postmarketing setting. I’ve dropped to 140lbs last time I checked. I have no appetite. My blood pressure is abnormally low – it varies between 90/58-110/70 (it used to be consistently 120/72, and no one has any explanation). My heart rate is now 83 (used to be 50). I wake up every morning feeling extremely nauseous, sometimes with a headache, and it usually wears off in the afternoon. My stomach is usually upset, plus constant diarrhea. Lately, my muscles ache as if I’m suffering from the flu.
t on a new medication, but rather my doctor changed the time of day that I should take an existing medication (trying to regulate my blood pressure). The medication is Clonidine (0.1MG). The literature suggests possible drowsiness. But I always overreact to medication. So now I was taking it in the AM and it was acting as a sedative. We changed it back to PM and I am out of my fog.

Hi all, I currently take 100 mg of Modafinil every morning but was advised that I could take up to 400 mg per day.
The doc who prescribed mentioned one tab in the am and one in the pm but I have heard from other people who take it that they find it better to take 200 mg in the am instead of splitting it into two doses.
I tried the am and pm option today but am beyond exhausted.
I would love to hear what anyone has found works best for them.

my son is 21 and is also bipolar with psychosis so he deals with the paranoia more. he takes abilify and modafinil (modafinil is like aderol with out the addictive reactions) it helps him stay more focused.

i went back to my family doctor with the results and he agreed the modafinil would be the next step, as well as taking some blood tests. i went on the modafinil for 2 months and still absolutely no change. blood tests came back and everything was normal, b12 was a little low, i took some multi-vitamins, went back again for more blood work this time for a whole slew of tests and b12 was normal as was everything else. at this point the doctor has no idea what it could be.
ve been on only 10 mg of Propranolol for about 2 weeks now and feel that it has helped me a bit with my GAD. I have normal blood pressure, and was thinking about asking my doc for a higher dose to see if the improvement would continue.
The lethargy is what bothers me the most since I already have a pretty low energy level. I wanted to get some opinions on here about taking some kind of diet supplement that is suppose to help with energy.
I am currently being treated for CFS with a medication called Modafinil. It’s the one medication that’s a stimulant, that’s not in the same class as Adderall or Ritalin with a very low abuse potential. It helps out a lot, but I feel while it is helping it does damage as well considering you get used to the medication and the CFS is 100 times worse then when it started.
My question is this : What medical procedures are done to rule out it being an underlying medical condition ?
